This location was amazing. Will rent from there again and recommend. However the location on st thomas place in Gloversville ny was horrific. I left in tears and when I said I wasn't getting one my son contacted the tool shed. Maybe be chosier about who you let have places under the name of uhaul. With st thomas location would never use again

ANTHONYLEE II was leery on trying uhaul again after a different location I went to last year and had an absolutely horrible shady experience. However, this location was very helpful and honest and my bill is exactly as it should be as well. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a uhaul, no matter the size. Friendly helpful people!
AImeejoe GYour return policy is over complicated. I returned the vehicle the same day I rented it. Put the key in the drop box and then saw your request for mileage,...I had locked the doors and dropped the key before. Could not provide. I returned the vehicle at 5:00 same day

william hI opted for 24/7 pick up but when I arrived-that was unavailalbe and had to wait for the shop to open-about a 45 minute delay to my day. Dont offer 24/7 service to this shop.

Reggie NFirst, I arrived at the tool shed rental place after booking the appointment online the night before. The lock boxes are not where they are indicated in the photos. After finally making it through the prompts and being assigned a truck. My fiance, two children and I looked through the lot and could not locate the assigned truck. After 30 minutes my fiance called the uhaul help line and had a 20-30 minute wait, we opted for a call back then called our other local uhaul place,JJ Prestine, which answered the phone and said he could help, and would be able to transfer the rental. We arrived and were getting set up when Uhaul customer service called back. I spoke with them, was told I would get a refund for the tool shed rental and a $50 credit for the aggravation. After that JJ finished a different contract, extended my time and took good care of me, I returned the truck ahead of time and finished. However, the following day, the woman from the tool shed location called me and asked me why I hadn't returned the truck. I explained that I never took it and the truck was not there. She said she would look into it. About an hour or so later I received a call from the police asking me about this mystery truck. I spent 20 minutes of my work day explaining to the officer the details of my experience. I asked the officer to please go check any camera footage because I did not leave with a truck. He called back later in the day with some follow up questions. Now one more day goes by and the tool shed place charges my card nearly $300 dollars!!! I immediately called uhaul customer service and spent another 30 minutes on the phone explaining the details, which got escalated to management and then to a district rep. I have yet to hear from the rep. I have had the worst customer experience of my life at nearly 40 years old. The Tool shed rental place should be closed immediately.

Gerard MWe picked up a vehicle that was dirty in the truck bed. Dried mud everywhere. When inspected with owner of company (we assume) he even commented on condition of truck bed. We didn't take pictures since person had been with us to see condition. We loaded and unloaded truck on pavement then returned in same condition that was in when we picked up. But since we didn't clean the previous renters mess, we were charged the cleaning fee. I have used uhaul services from both Fonda and Amsterdam with no problems, I would recommend to everyone to pay the little extra in mileage unless you want to be charged for things you didn't do. It makes me wonder if they charged the previous renter a cleaning fee too and then just didn't clean it to make some extra $$. If you rent from here make sure you take lots of pictures, in case they try to screw you over too.
Michael RTrailer was full of snow and wood chips. Marker lights stopped working halfway through the trip. Otherwise, convenient location, friendly and helpful staff.
James RThe people at the location were great. No one had checked the truck after the last customer had it, and it was stuck in the mud where it shouldn't have been parked in the first place. The cab of the truck was really muddy and dirty, and the back door was completely frozen shut. Since it was before the location opened, I contacted Uhaul and asked for help with the stuck truck, and they were going to charge me $415 to send someone to get the truck unstuck, when I'm not the one that got it stuck in the first place. Luckily a guy that worked for the location showed up while I was struggling and helped get the truck unstuck with a tractor. He was very kind and very helpful. I probably won't use the 24/7 mobile option in the future, due to the issues and the complexity of the process.

Jacklyn BI was very upset with the mixed communication between 2 people at TOOL EQUIPMENT SHED JOHNSTOWN NY. As I called and did what I was supposed to do, they weren't straight forward with me about information for examples what day they're closed and how to go about returning the key if no one is there. Then I was threatened with the police when I asked why I was getting different answers? Never again would I ever use them or tell anyone about them.

jorge qWhile the service I received at the pick up location was exceptional, my overall experience was not. I had reserved a truck for the night before, and they moved to my pick up location half an hour away, and did not compensate me for mileage. I also refueled less than a mile down from the drop off location, and I was still charged a fueling fee

George BAfter you charge them $98,55 tell them the bill is paid in full then turn around and add another $26,87 when not authorized! I suggest you return the $26,87 or I will have no other choice but to turn you into the Better Business Bureau!

Alexis WLuckily it was available, but there was some damage to one of the fenders and when I got it back to the house and opened it there were a bunch of boxes inside inside and haven't been swept out by previous renters. The outside of trailer was clean.

Bobbie-Jo PWas given a truck reading 50 miles until empty so put 30 in gas in it right away, ended up only making one of the 2 loads i had planned so only went a total of 28 miles. I returned the truck with more gas in it then i started with and still got charged for gas and a fill up fee.

Bryan G2 bald tires , trailer harness wire was too short. One tire blew apart we where stuck on the side of the highway for one and a half hours and it took a total of three hours to get a replacement. Very bad experience,
emilio mits time renting with the 24/7 friendly and it wasn't that hard to navigate they phone camera and instructions
