Make sure the batteries are inspected before renting out the truck to someone. Had a low voltage battery and the truck did not want to start after being loaded. Had to wait an hour for roadside assistance

I was originally booked on the 24/7 pick-up using my smart phone, I was not able to enabled the system to recognize my location, tried everything to solve this problem. Finally went inside the building and a lovely young lady helped me and from that point things went well. The staff inside was very professional and courteous and made the start of the day more enjoyable.

The staff were friendly and helpful. You have an especially strong team there; I was really impressed. They are knowledgeable and seem eager to want to do the right thing. One person was new, or at least new to trailers, but she was well mentored and then the shift leader (the gentleman who signed me out and took my payment) double-checked to make sure everything was correct. It was. That attention to detail, for safety sake, is very valuable. The lady at check-in was also professional, helpful, and efficient. Check-in was much faster and easier than I expected. The layout of the facility is less than ideal, but the U-haul staff I encountered were excellent. I just wish most companies had people like this working for them.

I at first rented a 15 truck and the tire was flat and needed an alignment didn't have the furniture dolly I had asked for got down the street and came back to return it . That was a major safety hazard to be getting a major high way with a truck like that. Instead of apologizing I got looked at like I was crazy but the male that worked there came out and agreed that truck was not safe. I hope in the future there are better checks before ppl hit the road .

When I first moved in I asked for Charles Rackley to be added as an additional occupant but that never happened. Months later Charlie was denied access and that is how I found out. He was responsible for paying the storage bill but unfortunately he died in a tragic motorcycle accident. Im now left with a huge bill i cant afford to pay. I'm very upset over how this has turned out. I think due to the circumstances uhaul could cut me some slack on all the excessive fees. I'm going to need to rent a uhaul in about 2months but can't due to the inflated amount I now owe.

Make the check-out and check-in process more automated. Maybe like an easy pass system or a preferred customer account. I have rented many times, and after hours check-in has always been a problem. The iPhone app never seems to recognize the location, even after multiple attempts. Then I call customer service to get assistance. The entire process has taken up to thirty minutes.

Rented a 15' truck and the "attic" leaked. all of the bottom of the boxes in the attic we're soaked. Also water on the main deck on the passenger side. Rain event was while trucked was parked in driveway....not driving in rain.

The headlights knob was broken off so I had to stop by my place and get some pliers to turn them on. The dash lights didn't work. The truck down shifted horribly. The roll-up gate was difficult to roll up and down.

The only thing I did not like was having to get a locksmith to cut my lock off when I lost my key. I think customers need to know this in advance. I rented a grinder at Home Depot and the staff was sure if there would be any power to plug it up. And it wasn't any power. That was a waste of time.

First of all I never personally rented a storage unit at the above named facility in person nor on line with uhaul. Quite frankly I'm not even sure why I'm filling this out as you guys were sending me bills for a contract I never opened in the first place. My drivers license as well as my whole wallet was stolen last year somewhere around the end of June 2022 a few days before July 4, 2022 by a gentleman named Craig A. Pittman who come to found out had used my identity as well as my credit cards at his convenience. He was able to rent a uhaul truck and apparently a storage unit at the above named facility. How could this have happened, do you not check identification to confirm the individual is in fact who they claim to be

I have many storage units for my small business. Hands down this facility is the most staffed, the cleanest and mist cost efficient. There is not one drop of rat poo, I feel safe, I feel my inventory is safe and the restrooms are clean. They get busy and lots of traffic but they are the best.

Unfortunately mother nature left us with out a home, tornado struck our property. U- haul made it very easy for us to rent the truck and the u- haul storage facility not just that we have a month free. How wonderful is this. A big thank you to the understanding staff you guys were amazing!

Had rented a 20 ft truck which states it would hold up to 2 to 3 bedroom house. If it was why didn't they see that my things would not fit in a 10×10 storage room. I am having to pay 40 for the truck when if I had a bigger room this would have never happened but now I am having to pay for 6 days at 40 a day. Just is not acceptable or right on uhauls business with customers .

I received a free month of a storage unit due to renting a Uhaul truck. When I went to move into the unit, the employee told me that I had to pay for the first month and that my second month would be free. I did not need the unit for 2 months, but figured if the second month was free anyway then I might as well keep it. I was annoyed about having to pay the first month because nowhere on the deal did it say that, but I accepted that nonetheless. We moved everything except for one desk out prior to the beginning of the second month, so it really wasn't necessary but again it was free so why not use it. When the second month came around, I was charged for it. I called UHaul and they could not help because there were no notes on my account, so they sent a message to the manager of the location to call me. I explained my situation to her and she said that the first month should have been free because they do not do the second month free. She processed a refund for the payment, which I appreciated. At the end of the second month I picked up my final item from storage and processed my move out. A few days later, I was charged again despite having moved out of the unit. I called back up to the facility and the manager refunded this payment as well. I am most frustrated about the amount of times I had to call to request refunds and also about the fact that I could have had one free month and then moved out, but the employee had no clue what she was doing. This was obvious at move in as well because she tried to move us into an already occupied unit and it took over 30 minutes for us to get everything taken care of so that we could move in.

My unit was broken into and when I first noticed, when I came to the office to let them know, the manager was sitting at the front desk, stuffing her face! She sends this kid out to look at my unit after I clearly told her that the thieves placed another lock on my unit after they had broken into it. She didn't budge, it was like she could careless! She tells me to come back the following morning and she would have a locksmith come out to remove the lock. I asked her "can't y'all just get the lock off". She said, no, this is their standard procedure. Came back around 9am the following morning for her to just have her guys cut the lock off, just like I had asked her when I noticed that my unit had been tampered with! To top it off, the insurance that I paid for, wasn't even worth having! They denied my claim, saying that it only covers forced entry. I guess in order for the insurance to cover it, they'd have to have rammed the door down even though they swing outward, not inward, or maybe cut into it with a sawzall. It sure is funny how the manager didn't show me the terms and conditions when purchasing their worthless insurance, and because of that, I truly believe this was an inside job! I will, NEVER, do business with UHAUL, EVER, again in my life!!!

I was told in the phone, when I set up the unit, that the first month rent for my unit would be free. That Uhaul was running a special at the moment? Yet when I checked in the lady told me there was no note to indicate that the unit was free for the first month? I believe the rental was a little pricey for the times we are living in. So many people being forced to move into different living arrangements and having to move last minute. However, everyone was kind and the manager also helped me find a rental sooner than expected on a Saturday afternoon. The storage was convenient because I was going to look for a storage facility however my helpers said that the hallway was very narrow with not enough space for my sofas. It was extremely difficult to get my furniture into the storage. All in all, the transaction went very smooth and for that I am grateful. Merci.

This U haul is a rip off. They charged me $10 a month for 24 hrs access but never gave me the code to get in after hours.? So they charged me for a service I never received. The staff is rude and unhelpful. don't use this place!!

When I say staff was not helpful except Randell. I rented a month ago and had a great experience, I also rented a storage at that time. I came back month later to move I find mold on my property,tables still wet.Mold fur growing on chairs.I had also noticed the climate control was to hot.I also let them know and was told no it was cool when I was back there,it was 76. I also took a pic thermostat on 78. I ask what the process I get a circled brochure followed by I don"t know. Then I say I guess I need to take pictures then they offer to take them too. I rent my U-haul that mind u blows kind of cold then stops blowing period then goes in in out so we had no ac in the middle of Texas heat. Then one reverse light was out. So moving was kinda late I came in said Im running late they said its ok . Bad weather came in and it was flooded I called in said no worries we will extend you .I thought they were being nice and then I was charged. Now I will have to call back because he charged me for 2 days and I paid first day, Never will I use this store again, most helpful there was lady with glasses and Randell the rest that I dealt with could have cared less. I ended up over charged and with a loss of furniture.

Randell was completely out of line. First off, the experience was already a little frustrating because after fully loading the truck, it wouldn't start. They sent out roadside assistance who fixed the problem and we were on our way, it just put us back a few hours after an already long morning of packing and moving. That's fine, I understand things happen and staff was helpful with getting someone out to us. But we get there and after unloading the truck it was really hard to maneuver out of the storage area ( we had a 26 ft truck and our storage room was in the very back with sharp corners and trailers and vans and cars in the way making it even harder ). I called the front desk and asked for help because I didn't want to risk any damage to the truck. They assured us we should be able to pull out easily because they do it all the time and that we had to pull it all the way to the front in order to be checked in. That may be true but I don't drive these trucks on a daily basis to know exactly how to do it. There was also a van parked there that I asked if they can move so we can at least try to back out of the area. No one moved it. So we had to pull the side mirrors in and literally squeeze through the drive way. IT TOOK FOREVER and a whole lot of going back and forth but we finally made it near the front. We come in and all the person helping me move said was there was a trailer parked in the very back that made it impossible to turn that corner. Randell responded very rudely with how he does it all the time anybody should be able to do it he kept mentioning how it wasn't his problem and was like "it's not my fault you can't drive" and was really just being very unnecessary for no reason and things escalated. I work in service industry and I know how it can be dealing with people but in this situation it was completely uncalled for and unwarranted. Idk he was like on a power trip or something it was really weird. I told the person helping me to leave because things were getting out of hand and as he was walking out Randell proceeded to follow him out the door like he was going to attack him. He only stopped following after him when I yelled I was going to call the police because if you were there you could see the way he followed him he was looking for a fight. I had to walk outside and find a lady to finish helping me check out.

My experience with Clear Lake U Haul lasted about 15 years. During that time I did not have any major problems at all. There were even times when the staff would call me because I had left my unit unlocked so I could come and secure it. The unit was clean and I never noticed any issues with pests or rodents. I am very pleased with my experience and would recommend them to everyone!

Had an absolutely terrible experience. Multiple people that are literally living in the facility bothered us every time we went to grab anything. Staff was super slow, unhelpful, and overcharged us.

the only thing that made me upset with U-Haul is I had burnt my gas and time going to Houston for nothing and I couldn't get in the storage that weekend because they never took the lock back off

I arrived tired and the place was very busy on Sunday. They were very friendly and accommodating to my needs as I realized I needed a larger space than the one I have originally rented. I recommend!
