The Facility in Alton was great I didn't get a storage that was closer to the outside door, but the young lady at the Alton facility on the morning I visit was great in explain everything about the storage and showing me around.

The van was mostly clean but there was dog hair on the seats and crumbs on the console. I did arrive early so maybe they didn't get a chance to clean it thoroughly. Other than that I have no complaints. They have awesome customer service and are happy to assist me with anything I need to get in and out

I moved out ASAP because you kept raising the rate. Even if market prices change, there should be a discount for valuing long-term customers. I see the other storage unit I vacated last month was still not rented. Looks like you lost the same amount as the yearly rent increase!

Nothing needs to be improved. Joseph Redden was awesome. He exceeded my expectations. My car was kept meticulously clean with the plastic seat, steering wheel, and floor coverings. He completed the installation in 45 minutes and answered all my questions. He was very professional.

I won't go into a bunch of detail but the staff here make everything storing with uhaul a wonderful experience. Management, Especially Joe, is beyond helpful, kind and caring. Filthy trailer. Employee wasn't helpful - they claimed they cannot detach trailers on the lot, so we had to disconnect and pull the trailer by hand... ourselves! Very troubling experience and, seems to me, probably on shaky ethical and legal ground.

Don't no why but my locker sounded an alarm when I came back. Then they couldn't find me in the computer. So had to get my paper work out and show it so they could fix the problem. Just hope next time I come this won't be an issue.

I have had nothing but trouble since I chose to go with this company. The miscommunication between CJ at the East Alton location telling me one thing to the rude staff at Alton location. Very disappointed in the lack of communication skills, adding extra fees, they did eventually wave them but I would not send anyone here unfortunately.

After a poor experience at another store I contacted the supervisor Mike for assistance. He referred me to Joey at the Alton location and said he would be able to take care of the installation. He was right! The service and accommodations that were offered certainly made up for the first experience. Joey kept in contact with me and made sure to get my installation done same day even helping out with another issue and offering us a loaner van since our other vehicle ended up with a flat and I wouldn't have otherwise been able to drop off the Kia. Although the first experience was unfortunate, Mike and Joey made sure to not lose a repeat customer and take care of things in the right manner. Huge thanks to both of them!

I think there’s not to much that can be done in storage units, I’ve seen roaches, not big roaches, but roaches non the less that mainly comes from ppl using these units so you can only do so much, but I do like the fact that it’s climate controlled and your the only storage facility in this are that I know of that has climate control units and I appreciated that!

No respect when it comes to disparities between different U-Haul facilities. As a as a disabled individual this management on Homer Adams parkway U-Haul expected me to crawl down on the ground to unload my car dolly for $20 are they going to hold my car hostage and not allow me to check in. Whereas I didn't have a problem with the u-haul staff in Radcliff Kentucky loading my car where is this discrepancy coming from in the same U-Haul company where you hold disabled people hostage.

Inside, climate control is the way to go. The place is kept clean, had carts available right as you come in to help load and unload and staff was friendly. Expensive, but well worth it for short-term storage.

It was unclear where I was to disable my alarm at. The panel in front was only for after hours access but it was not clearly marked. I asked the associate and he kindly directed me to the proper panel to disable my alarm.

I actually never stored anything in my unit as my plans to move changed. But everytime I was there, all the staff were very kind to me. If I need storage in the future, I definitely will use this location. Let the staff know that I appreciated their kindness and consideration.

I received great help from Joe and Chris. They solved a problem I had with the U-haul across town who sent me confirmation of a unit outside when I had requested clearly that I needed a climate-controlled unit. I called back and was told they would clear it up when I arrived and would not get me a reservation for a cc unit then. Joe fixed this at his facility at the last minute. Ver grateful for such good service

I absolutely loved doing business here! The staff was always helpful and I loved the security of the facility as well as being able to pull into the garage to load and unload. I was a customer for a couple of years! would have said excellent but the last week of using the facility, there was a family living in one of the units. It made me feel very uneasy when getting into my unit. I understand with the laws it isn't easy for U-Haul to remove them but there has to be something that can be done to make their customers not have to deal with things like this. Like I said, I loved doing business here and would use the facility again, even pay the higher rates than most places, but something has to be done to make your customers not feel uneasy when accessing their unit because of the homeless people living in a unit!

This Uhaul facility is top notch. All the employees we have dealt with (and it's probably been all at one point or another). Amber- the Manager went above and beyond for us I broke my ankle and an appointment fell during the time we had the uhaul rental. Amber worked with us and she really didn't have to. Life happens. When you have good employees and Managers you get more recommendations! PS Mike the General manager is pretty awesome too.

I had the. Storage unit for almost two years. The employees always let me know if I didn't lock my unit correctly. They were so great when I had cleaned the unit out. I never saw any rodent drippings or bugs. I will definitely recommend them to everyone.

The is/was poor lighting in aisle where my unit was located (1600). I inquired about it and nothing was done, and the answer given was pretty flippant. The interactions with staff were condescending at times as if they didn't want to be there or thought they were better than the renter.

I’ve just moved my personal items so I feel in all honest that I can’t rate this storage unit at this time, but I will say that my experience with one of the workers in the Alton area U-Haul storage center was exceptionally pleasant, this young man was a breath of fresh air, I couldn’t have gotten better service from the manager himself, if I had to rate my experience just with him you’d have give stars for sure!

The fact that u haul don't take partial payment is inconvenient because people don't always have full payments and then the fees add up to where the person can't pay and then lose their things, which like me, wtw important, sentimental and valuable.

Everyone at the facilities are working but same are inept at paying attention and being prepared. They want to I a good job but don't realize you're on a schedule and not wanting to fix mistakes and want service without mistakes! I always say,if I was as full of mistakes as you are I would've been fired lo Nguyen ago. It's all in the dsetails, py attention to what customers want and need. I hate dealing with the mistakes over and over. It's very time consuming

The facility rates above others for a few reasons. 1. They have after 12:00 p.m. weekend hours. 2. The manager at this facility was very helpful, opposed to the person in Haslet, TX, during our roadside assistance need. Joseph actually worked on getting us help. I had to delay my arrival to Alton, IL from TX due to bad tires on your equipment. The first truck's tires went flat luckily before we left the store. This meant getting another one and completing more paperwork - delay #1. Then about 1:50 hours outside of Alton, a tire on the auto transport lost treads. The repairman said the tires were too old. This produced a two hour wait on the side of the road. And, yet I was not offered any type of compensation for these avoidable incidents. Beside the possibility of a dangerous accident, I had to pay more to the movers due to extra time, missed my appointment with the realtor and had to find a place to stay.

My wife and I had multiple conversations amongst ourselves about how well ran the Alton uhaul facility is. So clean. Joe is terrific to work with. So pleasant. We registered for the unit online and we were given our unit number and code. We were a little confused when we arrived and could not get in. The office was open and we got set up with the help of the clerk, but the process was not clear in the info we were given online. We are not sure how we would have gotten in if the office had not still been open.

The staff was absolutely amazing! We needed to rent storage and trucks. They were so helpful when things didn't go like they should with the truck return and super supportive when our 1st movers into the storage were a disaster. Every step of the way was great. I would definitely recommend this location. Amber was friendly, informative and always willing to go the extra for us. I think the other guy (tall, thin and fun) was awesome! We got lost finding our new storage unit that didn't have numbers on it yet and he come over and walked us to it. Both were always great when we talked about our troubles with the movers.

The on-line process was recommended and was convenient. Problem is when I arrived on the move-in day, I requested my "free" month of storage as promised earlier in person (gave me a paper coupon) and again the on-line process said I qualified for a free month rent. I was told that since I did everything online, I did not qualify for the free month rental. I asked why that was and was told "I don't know why corporate won't let us do that". I went home and called U-Haul customer service. The representative applied the free month rent to my account and said the local business manager would call me. I haven't received a call as yet. The place is very clean and the people seem nice, just has been a pain having to spend a half hour on the phone to get something resolved that shouldn't have had to be done.

We had just traveled 12 hours moving states and were exhausted. I walked into the Uhaul facility and Amber made me feel right at home. She was energetic, chipper, and right to the point. I appreciated a friendly face after the long day! She took me on a tour of the facility, which I also appreciated because I would have been lost otherwise. Super clean facility, well lit in the climate controlled building. Loved having the carts to use for move in as well as the option to unload under cover. People were extremely friendly, helpful and patient. Overall this is an outstanding facility and this UHaul facility was generally better than the Lifestorage unit I had previously rented in MO for a number of reasons.

The unit I had put my credit card down on was taken when I arrived to move in and I had to take another unit the only reason I choose Uhaul storage was the convenience of loading and unloading at the first unit I had put my credit card to hold. I will have to do with what they offered me but not as convenient as the first one I wanted.

We will be singing your praises on Facebook and to everyone we can. Due to stormy weather, we were worried we wouldn't be able to get the truck unloaded by the time it was due back. Your workers even checked on us the entire unloading time to give advice for the utilization of space. Being able to store our things until our family members can completely recover from COVID was a true Godsend for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We love U-Haul. The truck was an awesome monster, too!!!

The staff was friendly, and helpful. The storage unit was nice and clean and worked well for us. I would definitely use the storage place again if I needed to. I will also recommend this place to others. Thank you for making our moving experience better.

No one knew how to work the computer system. I had three different helpers tell me three different things. One was at the national call center, not actual location. This is a brand new location, so I am willing to give them a break because of that. I don't think anyone there was extremely familiar with this location. I hope they spend some time educating themselves and their staff of how to work the reservations and show them how their facility is set up. I would still recommend location in hopes that they get it straight in the near future.

I only needed the storage unit for a short period and yet the staff treated me as though I was a valuable, long standing customer. It was convenient , clean and the helpful staff made the close out simple and swift. If ever I may need storage again Uhaul will be my first choice! Thanks for the great service!

Staff was friendly and helpful and later on in the evening after hours I came back to the storage to put some of my things away and while doing so my card and keys dropped out of my pocket without me realizing and I was locked out of the building with my unit door open and card and keys on the floor, I made a call from the number given and within minutes I was back in the building putting my things in my unit, they were very helpful and understanding with me, after that I felt comfortable with my choice in choosing this storage unit for my personal use.

I understand technology can be a hassle but it is a huge burden trying to get into my building. I have been a customer of uhaul for a long time but the one in alton Illinois has been a hassle.
