Your web site for people to return Vans is not user friendly. It took a long time to find the number I needed to return my Van. Not a good feeling when you are tired and ready to turn in the van and go. This should be an easy process. It took about 30 minutes to figure things out. Anxiety and frustration truly became my reality. Not a pleasant experience. There was also a statement on your web site about a charge of $20 dollars. Not to sure about the reasoning behind that logic. My Van was dirty with mud all around the bottom and the tires. I've never rented a Van from U-Hual where it was nothing but clean inside & out..

This was not my original pick up location. My original pickup location was at Harmony Furniture in Columbus Ohio. They did NOT have mt reservation, in fact, they gave the truck away to someone who just came in the door and asked for a truck when I already had a reservation from that location. I had to wait almost a half hour to be sent to another location for my reservation (Alum Creek). This part of the process made me late for what I needed the truck for and I had to pay late fees to get my stuff. Although the Alum Creek location made the pick up process flawless, the relocation already had me me in a bind. I don't know U-haul's reservation policy but if a truck is reserved (mind you the reservation was set up about a week prior) it should be used for the reservation and not given away to a different customer who did not have a reservation.

The truck was disgustingly dirty and now all my furniture is dirty. The contract was different than what the person behind the counter was saying. The truck guaranteed to us wasn't ready so we had to wait and drive to another location.

I rented a 26" truck I did the instruction as I was told from the mobile pick up. I left with the truck got to my home & once my movers arrived they went to load my couch onto the truck. They came to me told me the back of the truck smelled like a dog kennel when i immediately called U-Haul & spoke with the representative and advised them I was bringing the truck back. They did offer a replacement but at the time in order to get the full potential of my movers & money I had to move them to the next day which is when I planned on getting another U-Haul. I was informed they couldn't refund me my money & I would need to speak to the manager. When I spoke with the manager she advised me that she could only refund me $20. I wasn't even in possession of the truck for more than 2 hours. This was very unprofessional I don't mind paying for the gas & mileage however to charge me for the truck rental & the protection is ridiculous! Especially seeing that today I wanted to come back & utilize your services. However I'll move to the next company terrible business

The truck was in great condition, and we had no issues. The pick-up process was easy in terms of booking online, but the women working the front desk made the experience less enjoyable. I was greeted rudely and talked over and down to throughout the key exchange - only one woman was helpful and personable during the process. I was the only customer in the store, and I felt uncomfortable the entire time. I wouldn't come back due to their rudeness.

When I got the U-Haul it barely wanted to start then when I took it home and parked it for 30 mins its battery died and I had to call roadside assistance!! They sent out a man with a jump pack and he jump started it and said okay your good to go outta town now!! No one in their right mind would take that outta town so I returned it back to the store they switched me with what I thought was a better one but once I took it on the highway headed to my destination I notice the alignment was off with the truck and was hard to control then after putting $80 in gas in and returning the truck they charged me an extra $27 for gas and I filled exactly where they told me but the app submittting the picture!! I am a very unsatisfied customer

The Alarm would go off for no reason and bust my eardrums. Not good. You guys charge for not having a secured lock, even though U-Haul is covered legally through the lease agreement for stolen property. That's over extending your hand and taking money away from people and it's wrong and you need to stop. I think notifications are fine but don't violate renters rights to leave it unlocked. The White guy at the Bexely location in Columbus, Ohio is a phenomenal employee and I'd love to see him get a raise. He was polite, explained things thoroughly and even helped me when he could have otherwise penalized me. He was a charm and the best part of my experience with U-Haul. Reward him please

The employee was great but the automated process sort of got in the way of us all doing what we need to do. My initial reservation was cancelled without notification or explanation. The text I got from uHaul were deleted from my inbox without my permission, and no explanatiin given for that either. Also, I was given a wrong unit. Good thing I didn't move all my stuff in before I noticed, because I have a lot and that could have taken awhile. I had to present ID in person since the access codes i was given didnt work so, I had to go all the way back home to retrieve that, and then return and display.

The gas gauge/needle was fluctuating. I pointed this out to the manager of the store before leaving the premises with the truck. The manager failed to document the issue at that time. The manager also failed to resolve this issue in a fair manner even after I sent photos to U-Haul showing evidence of the problematic gas gauge.

I had a hellish experience with Uhaul that didn't necessarily have to do with the location. My problem was with the fact that I was notified less than 24 hours before my pickup that I would no longer be picking up my truck at the Uhaul location near my house but instead I needed to go across the city of Chicago to get my vehicle mere hours before my movers were slated to show up. It was a huge inconvenience that added unwanted stress to my move. A few days prior, I went into the location near me (4055 N Broadway) and they assured me that the truck would be ready for me. Not only was I informed that the location was moved less than 24 hours prior, but none of the materials (dolly, moving pads) I ordered were in the truck. So, I had to go and pick up the truck and then go to the original location that the truck was supposed to be and try to convince them to give me the dolly and pads. It was a real stressful mess and Uhaul customer service was not helpful. Given the hoops I had to jump through the day before and the day of my move, I would never recommend anyone ever using Uhaul. In fact, I will proactively tell people who are about to move to never use Uhaul.

Disappointed that several workers would lock large loading and unloading doors before the posted time. This happened to me on at least 2 occasions. Also, there's no refund for moving out before billing for next month. But obviously the storage can be rented out. Seems like your getting paid twice that way. And screwing the move out early customer by not offering a partial month refund!

Unprofessional Staff /Representatives. At rental pick up,.. the representative was more concerned with showing off her birthday manicure to her peers instead of attending to the customer in front of her. At rental drop off, I sat outside, in excess of 10 minutes in the rental, under the green tarp,.waiting for someone to come out and check the rental in (as instructed) and no one came out. I went inside and a young man was head down texting,.. & didn't even know I had came inside. I explained that I had been waiting 10 mins for someone to come out and check my rental back in,..and he directed me to leave the keys in the Dropbox (even though they weren't scheduled to close for another 4 hours) and that I would get my receipt in about 24 hours - Really?? He then put his head back down,.. and proceeded to text on his phone...

We rented storage space at this facility for the summer (which was great) and a truck for moving from the storage space into an apartment. I have no complaints, the facility & staff were fantastic. My only suggestion is, the longer your property is in storage after the first year your cost should go up half the normal increase. It should do that as long as it is in storage. That would not only increase customer volume but clients would feel more comfortable about leaving it in there longer.

When I signed up, I made a reservation for a 10x10 unit and had a confirmation email and everything. When I arrived a week later to move my stuff in, they told me they didn't have any large units and never actually reserved one for me. I had to figure out where to put half my stuff that day as they could only offer me a 5x6. I asked if they could notify me when a larger unit became available and they said they would- they never did. I checked in with them the next 3 times I went, asking to be notified and they never did reach out so I was with a 5x6 the whole time I was there. The elevators have also been out of order multiple times I needed to get stuff from my unit, which is so incredibly frustrating. The lack of follow through from employees is what annoyed me the most.

I have to question the customer service training of the Manager, Adeshia Petersen. Upon removal of the items from my unit, the movers inadvertently took away one of the moving carts in their truck. The Manager called me and basically said that they had stolen the cart. I don't know who she usually deals with, but the assumption of theft from the get go is not "a best practice" from a customer serice perspective and is not acceptable in my books. I contacted the movers - who had already realized their oversight - and they returned the cart. When I called to update the situation to the Manager, she wouldn't take my call and instead communicated with me through one of her staffers. Not very professional in my opinion. She would not apologize for the accusation of theft and then a few days later, a charge for $75 was applied to my CC on file. This is NOT OK! I spoke to staff in person when I cleared the unit and they would not remove the charge and told me to "call Corporate". I have been a UHaul customer for close to 10 years in multiple locations - including Canada and have never had the rude and offensive treatment I experienced with Ms. Petersen. I would be glad to speak with someone about this should you need any more information. At this point, I cannot recommend this particular location to others and that is unfortunate.

The doors to enter the building slide apart. There is a garage door where you can back in the building if you need due to weather. However with all this space you still have to go through a normal size Door entrance to get to unit. I think that's such a design flaw. Loaded carts outside and got to door and had to unload to get through door then load again.

I think the facility is top notch. I would not do anything but climate controlled. The indoor facility also cuts down on dust which is a plus. The led lighting is excellent. It was super convenient. I moved into a smaller unit in the same facility.

We tried to get in after hours one time and the doors would not open. An alarm was sounding. Called manager 3 times and no response back. We finally got in a door on the opposite side of where are things were. Made it more difficult to get our stuff out.

I rented a 10x 10 and when I showed up they didn't have the unit size I needed. Thankfully a 5x10 was available and will work for my needs however this is a major inconvenience as I now have to go back and move all my stuff again when a larger unit is available. About 10 am After getting to my already ready to move in storage. I noticed that the gate which should have been open to me was not. No one was answering the "24hr security line'! Once was able to talk to someone I waited on hold for 50 mins to talk to a store that wasn't even open yet. Even though the phone rep told me the office hours and said they should be in there. 12pm is when the office opened. I had to lug an entire '15 truck through a door entrance. Totally unacceptable

I was quoted at $100 per month and it was over that. Also there is no pro-ration. I didn't need an entire month of the storage unit but was required to pay for it regardless. Does not seem like a policy that's in place with the customer in mind.

I was very upset with the customer service I received for my U-Haul storage unit move. On Saturday the 18th, I drove to the U-Haul storage center of Northland, where I had reserved a storage unit back in mid to late July. I get to the counter and find out from the extremely unhelpful and apathetic customer service agent that the unit wasn't available and that the website was inaccurate in its inventory of available units. He shrugged and said that this happens all the time - people making reservations online for units that they don't have! How is this acceptable? Why even bother making a reservation in the first place? I had five carloads full of my stuff in the parking lot and four friends waiting on me when I discovered that I didn't have the unit available to me. I made the customer service agent make phone calls to nearby U-Haul storage unit centers to find another available unit with my specifications. The process took almost an hour. When I was able to secure a unit at the Bexley location, I had to make an entirely new reservation. By the time the agent hung up and I left, he just watched me leave and didn't even apologize. He did not care at all about my inconvenience or assisting me one bit. My friends and I drove to the storage center in Bexley, where the customer service agent there was much more helpful and gave me a storage unit that was close to the main door, so I appreciated that. However, I was angered to find out that I would have to pay for my unit that day, because when I booked a reservation for a moving truck online, the website offered a promotion for a month's worth of free storage if I made a reservation for a unit - which was the only reason I booked a unit at U-Haul in the first place. If I had known then that my promotion wasn't going to be honored, I would have shopped elsewhere for a unit. I was finally able to get my things into the unit safely after paying for it, but I need to say how angry and disappointed I was that my advanced unit reservation or my promotion wasn't honored and I had to go through all the trouble of making a new reservation and waste hours of my time and the time of my moving helpers. I am going to keep my items in the unit for as long as I need to, and then I will no longer use U-Haul for my storage needs in the future.

My reasoning for my rating is because my furniture had mold and smelt like mold. Then moving into my new home I came across roaches!! Like what is going on, I didn't have this problem when I moved my things into this storage and I shouldn't be dealing with this in my new home. I'm sorry but I will never use this place again.

Being in an emergency living situation with my family and just recently lost my job two days ago, I had to act fast and after calling multiple locations, then driving to a few others, I got frustrated and took a desperate chance with U-Haul that made a difference in what I needed in storage size! Got stuck in elevator and on 3rd floor several times while moving in. Upon moving out finding items that are damaged from leak in ceiling. You cannot get ahold of office staff to save your life. When you do finally The office staff has a tendency of being very rude. I would not recommend using this location.

I was promised a free unit when I booked the truck, and instead when I arrived, I was told that the manager had made the decision to change the policy. As a result, I was told I had to pay for the unit, which is a charge I hadn't budgeted for. I was especially disappointed because I had booked the truck and expected that deal before the manager had decided to discontinue that deal, which should, in my mind, make me more than eligible for the deal. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience at this location, and I won't be using it in the future. Hopefully another storage provider can save me some money or honor the commitments they make to their customers.

Very nice facility. Only problem was until had pipes and duct work so didn't get full size unit as advertised. First unit had tight turn and also not quite full size. Switched and second was was worse the pipes/duct, but settled due to convenience to door and straight entrance.

This is the worst facility I have ever used! There is no 24 hour access unless you pay extra. I was supposed to get a free lock, which I did not get. When they close the office at 7pm, they also lock the double doors. So if you need to move after that you have to take all your furniture through a door barely big enough for one person. There are not enough carts, and only one elevator and you cannot use the stairs! It took hours to move in because there were multiple families there all trying to use one door and one elevator. And if you are not done by 10pm, you can't get in. And if too many people overload the elevator, it stops working. The staff is racist and rude. This facility is way to expensive for the amount of inconvenience involved. I will never rent from them again!

Hello, Your company needs to update policies and standards in working with customers who do not own a cell phone. Please make sure to recognize also that some people live together and use the same phone. We were repeatedly asked for a cell phone number, we didn't have one with us nor do I own one. My partner did happen to be there and needed after several times reminded the store associates that we are partners and share the same phone number land line and his cell phone number. There are options for people. You need to make those options. I don't think I'll be doing business with U-Haul in the future when I can go to other stores that do offer trucks, vans and storage units without a big dramatic hassle. We were the first of two customers present. We didn't get tended to until two hours later because we were asked to stand aside while the associates waited on others. This was not fair at all.

Staff was nice and helpful. When I made reservation, I was supposed to get first month free but it did not show up at check-in. Unit was nice but door wasn't directly to hallway and there was a tight turn to get in. Requested another unit so I could move items straight in. That unit had a large pipe on right side and duct work dropping about 4 feet down on the other side. We managed to fit our items in but took much effort to fit it. First unit also had obstruction for about 6 inches. If I reserve 5x10x8, it should be 5x10x8. These problems weren't a problem with the staff and they were helpful and accomodating, but the facility should have been designed better.

I give it a below average rating because I found the general manager at the Bexley location to be difficult to work with. I highly recommend she go through some form of customer service training in the near future. Her staff was great to work with and the facility was great. Very clean and convenient. I would also look into the elevator. I had a few near scares on it a few times. I hope this is helpful. I will be giving a google review as well.

The instructions for how to check in so as to disarm the alarm and how to access the storage unit were vague which resulted in us having to go into the building to ask questions twice, pulling up to the incorrect doors and accidentally setting the alarm off twice, which was stressful.

The only issue with the facility is the elevator, it is not a freight and small. When moving larger items to 2-3rd floor units, it's challenging because of elevator size. Manager,Ms Adesha, is wonderful. If future storage is needed, I will choose this specific location.

I am supposed to have access until 10pm. I thought it was FULL access. It is not! We had to move in a uhauk trailer and 2 truck loads of stuff through a tiny single person door because the double doors and garage close when the office closes. And it was raining!!! If I did not already have a full unit I would take my stuff somewhere else. And the after hours help phone number goes to the main office voice mail. It is totally useless.

I was told it was 24 hr full access but the big, sliding doors were not accessible in the evenings. This is something that should be mentioned when getting the storage unit. My bike got stolen. My storage unit was already locked and reserved for someone else before I even finalized canceling my unit. What if I still needed access to it? I had it for the month. Luckily I did not but, would have been a very messy situation if I still needed it for the next week or so.

The young lady that originally helped me on day one was kind and helpful. However, after realizing the unit would not work for me I called immediately to cancel the unit and spoke to a gentleman who said he would be able to take care of that. I got a call a couple weeks later asking if I had moved into the unit and I let them know that this was cancelled a few weeks ago. This concerned me that I was charged for time I wasn't using but as of now I am not seeing any charges so luckily we should be good. Hopefully the office can stay organized in the future though so this does not happen. In terms of the unit, I am not sure why a unit is on the third floor without a freight elevator. We were not going to be able to fit some of our items in that tiny elevator and on top of that it would be a very inefficient way to move. We chose another unit that was more convenient for our needs.

This storage place has given me so much trouble I bought a cabin just so I didn't have to waste another dime. Always changing the rate, hidden charges, people breaking into units, opening my unit to put a rat trap and bug control without my permission. Terrible terrible service. Would never recommend.

Terrible customer service. The staff act like you're not even there and continue to talk to one another. There was a man training/explaining to another employee how to do something while completely ignoring me, while I'm waiting for 10 min, in 90 degree weather. Train your staff after hours please.

This is our third time renting from uhaul on alum Creek. Every time we have been happy. We did not have a reservation for whatever wanted but we ended up getting the truck we wanted because the staff did a quick clean for a truck that was just brought in
