The place I dropped it off at wasn't any better than the place I picked it up from. we dropped it off after standing in the store in front of the employees not being recognized for about 10 minutes the guy asked if we was dropping off we said yes he told us to leave the keys in the truck, we told him it was a trailer he said "shit" he would meet us out in a few to check it in. We waited about 5-10 minutes more and he told us to wait for a truck that was in the back to come out and we could go back then a few minutes later someone else comes out and tells us to go bac, they directed us where to drop it off the lady unhooked it said 0 charge and we were good to go. They called me yesterday because they didn't have it checked in and said we was late dropping it off. We dropped it off around 4 on Saturday they found it after I told them on the phone where it was. I would not use the pick up or drop off locations again. This location has such bad potholes in the parking lot you have to navigate around them

SHANDALE HOLMANI think Ashley was amazing. He should actually be the manager of the place. There was a lady there I believe with colored hair may be red or pink. She was the manager she wasn't as friendly as Ashley. She had pretty much a chip on her shoulder and didn't, walk around like a manager. I think Ashley did that. He explained everything so thoroughly. He was amazing and you should recognize his work. I think the manager could probably take some pointers off of him. She seemed very miserable. Just my observation never said hi to people how can I help you? I don't know I might have a different impression of what a manager should do but I do manage an entire clinic so I think I know something , but thank you to Ashley for making my experience Very nice there's something I saw Ashley do, I thought was very sweet while helping me there was another young little guy fairly knew I'm guessing deal with a not so nice customer the customer snatch some keys out of his hand, but Ashley took the time to comfort his employee or should I say peer and let him know it's going to be OK some people will treat you like that. You just got a move forward. Again, something a manager should do. Oh, she did leave a very crowded line walk very slowly around the store do some thing, then come back and decided to sit behind the counter and help the line was very annoying. Ashley came in the door solve the line was long and immediately went behind the registered and started helping people anyway, thank you, Ashley you made my experience very pleasant.

Hari AdhikariI booked my rental in advance online , when I arrived it was not at the location , then I waited around for another truck and they could not find the key. Finally after 45 minutes of waiting I was given a truck that was still dirty from the renter before then it was on E and the back of the truck had a ripped bag with no equipment. I did not ask to rent equipment but at least the truck could have been cleaned out. This was my second time at this U-Haul and will most certainly be my last . I would not recommend 29th st Harrisburg PA U-Haul at all especially if you're on a time crunch.

Mark BakerPicking up the U-haul i was told where it was and to leave it as close to empty when returning it. The dash said 33 miles til empty when I got in. When returning it I pulled into the spot where it said and to wait for a representative... waited 5 minutes no one came out so I went into the store. Both associates were busy, which is fine. Thru the move and the load and unload I lost the invoice for the rental. The gentleman said if the gas was in the range it was ok. When I got out of the truck it was showing 35 miles left to empty so I did as the 1st gentleman said where I picked it up. I got charged the extra $30 for not having it full enough. Yet in the guidelines the gentleman said. As full as when you recieved. No one went over the truck with me showing me any or all of the features. With me being on a timeline I just left there angry knowing I had to find a gas station to fill up before this move. Frustrating because when you rent a car it comes full and you have to leave it full. Trying to find where to leave it empty and not seeing any gages on the dash telling me where the fuel gage was other then the one that is showing on the dash. The arm meter reader was looking like it was in the right same place.This whole experience was not the best experience for me. I hope I never ever move again and need a rental truck. I appreciate the truck and being able to use it from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg PA. But with my stress and anxiety levels already high using a 20' truck and driving it myself. Was very nerve racking in my brain being a 60 yr old lady moving all alone. Thanks for the use of the truck

Lisa OmachelI have been a long time U-Haul customer and I have never had such a terrible experience as this! I am seriously considering using another company for all my future towing/hauling needs. I had reservations to pick truck/trailer combo up at 3pm, I completed the "online check-in" prior to arrival and showed up at 2:45. There was only one (1) person in line ahead of me but I still had to wait over half an hour to be helped. The truck/trailer combo WAS NOT READY, the truck interior was nice and clean but the exterior of the truck was rather dirty. I had to back the truck up to the trailer and it took your associate THREE (3) tries to get the trailer on the receiver correctly. The ratchets on the trailer did not work well as they were badly corroded and it was clear that they had not been lubricated. One (1) of the tire straps on the trailer had a frayed end and was very difficult to thread through the ratchet. The next day I arrived to return the truck/trailer around 1pm, there were three (3) vehicles ahead of me in the "return equipment lane" and your associate told me that I would have to back the trailer into it's parking spot and UNHOOK IT MYSELF! I then waited almost another half an hour before an associate told me I would be emailed my final receipt. In all my years (I'm 50) of renting equipment from U-Haul I have never experienced such poor service and I most certainly NEVER had to hook/unhook my trailer.

Kevin KeeferWorst experience ever. I booked it with dolly and 5 large boxes, when I arrived to pick up, they started all over and charged me again plus wasted my 20 minutes. The cabin had some short of smell and too many miles on the truck. Almost 170k. I returned the truck same day night within 12 hours and they charged me for two full days rent, dolly fees, insurance and plus charged me extra 40 miles @ 0.99.(starred at 169 445 amd ended 169,519) Overall they charge me extra $100.

Customer service doesn't make notations about the concerns the customers call in about in the computer system. Billing department mailed my storage bills to the wrong address after making numerous updates to the correct address every month. Management had to make corrections to my account billing information every month after showing previous bill payment receipts that I made. I wouldn't recommend this storage facility for anything. Make this place YOUR LAST OPTION to do business with. This facility really needs to get it together. Please and thank you !!!

However over the past year there was dirt and dust accumulating on our storage items and then I discovered in November, 2022 that mice had been in the unit as there was chewed styrofoam all over the front inside, mice droppings and 1 dead mouse. Not a good situation. Fortunately I had already planned on emptying the unit in December, which was completed 12/13/22.

Then offered another unit larger than what was scheduled and charged $10Dollars more. Then when we got to that unit the previous owner still had his lock on the unit. So it was not available. Then I was offered a small 5X8 for 10 ft truck which meant I could get very little in it. Out of total frustration I left and found another Stoage 25 miles away.

I talked to the manager of the facility and he was very unprofessional and disrespectful towards me briefly on the phone with him. After I decided on the locker, Beatrice took me back through again, showed me where to park, how to use the alarm system and then how to use the lock I purchased. She answered all my questions and I was completely satisfied with my experience. I haven't moved anything in yet and hope this process also goes as smoothly.

BARRY LONG | Premières impressionsEven though I had this all set up with a rep on the phone days prior to my arrival, and I had received a call a few hours prior to my arrival, when I got to the Harrisburg Uhaul facility, they had no information or idea I was arriving that day. Very long check in time while my family had to wait in the car. This is very frustrating that a large company like Uhaul does not have a better computer system that communicates with its branch offices. When the manager at the Harrisburg office entered my phone number, your system should have pulled up all my past and present reservations! Very poor on Uhaul corp!! If I am able to get emails from Uhaul with my reservation information then so should your branch managers or the location's general data look up by phone number. More than one branch office has told me the Uhaul computer system is not user friendly for them. When calling in to Uhaul to make reservations, there is never a problem. There seems to be a communication break down in your system that really needs addressed.

Eileen Bonawitz | Expérience généraleThe 10x10x6 unit I reserved on-line with my truck was not available when I showed up in PA on 12/2 (order #20731372). An employee (Steve) put me in a 5x10x6 and 5x10x8 as an alternative, and told me he would merge the units so I would pay the same monthly bill I was anticipating. Steve said he would call me to come in on a later day to sign the receipt/contract once they were able to merge the units. I went back in-person on 12/'7 since I had not received a call. I was told by another employee (Shawna) while she was on the phone with corporate storage, she could not merge the units since they were different sizes (one is two feet taller than the other). She said I would have to move my belongings out of one of my units into another, so both the units are the exact same size to receive the merged rate. I am expected (again) to spend my time and energy to make-up for false promises and booking errors made by U-Haul. U-Haul made the mistake allowing me to reserve a non existent unit. I took the two 5x10s because I was told the rates would be merged into the monthly rate I had expected. The employees now tell me I have to spend another day moving my stuff around because of errors on the company's behalf. This is all highly unacceptable, and I am very disappointed with the customer service and my entire moving experience. What is the point of making a reservation if the unit is not held and available? Why would an employee tell me they will honor the 10x10 rate if I moved into two 5x10's? The first employee that helped me yesterday was also very unsympathetic and had zero empathy. Shane, the general manager, stepped in and did what he could to help, but it is a shame that corporate ties the employees' and managers' hands in a "make-good" scenario. Because of the "same size units to merge" restriction, U-Haul has denied me the most basic of customer expectations and given me a horrific experience. I am definitely not satisfied, and am expected (again) to pay more or inconvenience myself because of errors made by your company. My moving from Louisiana to PA started with me having to drive 29 extra miles to pick up my equipment. My pick-up reservation was made for a location 2 miles from my home in LA. U-Haul managed to screw up both my reservations on this contract, and I am expected to spend my time and money to cover your mistakes. Since I will have to spend time moving my belongings, I plan on moving them out of your facility entirely before the free month I received with truck rental is over. You've lost a long-term customer with excellent credit (>800) who always pays their bills. If I ever have to rent equipment again, you can also bet I will be seeking out alternatives. You are a terrible company who takes no responsibility for your own errors, and shifts the burdens onto your clients. Shame on you, U-Haul.

It is likely that many employee's carried the Covid-19 virus home to family. As a person wearing a mask is protecting others, I don't appreciate this company, or company-location policy. It put me at risk, every time I visited the location, hence why we have now moved from that location. Other than this policy, I would have rated the location excellent.
John Young | Expérience généraleThe fact that I asked multiple times if I had 24 hour coverage and the girl reassured me I did then when I came after hours I got locked outside with my keys and phones inside and couldn't get back in until 5am the next morning when I called customer service they said I did not have 24 hour access on my account and when I tried to call the GM her phone ran I left a voice mail then called again a couple times because my storage unit was wide open and my cell phone and keys were inside thank god a friend came with me who had their phone I kept calling and instead of answering she turned her phone off so I have to sit outside the storage place from 1015p until 5am until I could get in to get my things to leave. Horrible!
