1 rented a van from this Waterbury location by the Home depot The Initial charge was 124 doll for 2 days ,but as I dropped the van a little late after he hour the fees changes to 139 dollars and change but I notice the 124 dollars the initial charge has been double and this is a robbery,they even correct and change the first email recei they gave to me. We were charged a cleaning fee even though we returned the vehicle in the exact same condition that we received it in. It was applied while in store turning in the keys without anyone even looking at the vehicle and no mention was made of it. I feel scammed and will not recommend this location to anyone not use them again in the future if this can't be rectified.

Do something to better the overnight hours. I was locked out from finishing moving into my storage immediately after turning to 10pm. My belongings were stranded in the elevator/lobby and my room was left unlocked

First, the Mngr wanted to steal my free month; then, they abused my elderly, disabled, epileptic, Christian mother; the bathroom stink, and, then, I was charged for an extra day when I dropped off my Uhaul rented truck (when I returned it on the agreed day — November 22, 2023).

Rats and roaches, and the employees response to said concerns. Made a mockery of the fact that his stuff didn't have roaches because he does not keep it at U-haul. Do not waste your money here. Thankfully all my stuff has been removed by most was a loss due to the roaches.

The halls and rental space can benefit with better lighting throughout the halls as it will allow for customer transaction in and out their units a more timely efficiency. The men's restroom has an unbearable odor and requires attention. Overall, my time renting there has met my rental needs.

Your app did not complete the check in process. It froze right after getting the key. Was not able to take the photos to show a truck with no fuel and not clean from previous users. App would not work to return truck and when I got the bill the next morning I was ripped off for a cleaning charge of $35 even though the truck was returned cleaner than when I received it. You should refund the $35 and actually service your trucks before renting them to someone one else and then charging them for what you should have done. Thank you a very disappointed customer.

My only problem was the placement of the motion sensor lights. I had unit #1158, and if the lights went out while I was in the storage space for a long time, I had to walk almost all the way down the unlit corridor before they would go back on.

Quick and easy rental process both for pick up and return. My only criticism would be the "per mileage rate" which starts immediately from pickup. I would have expected a minimum mileage before the fee starts. Maybe 5 to 10 miles.

I thought I could have access after hours to access the storage unit I rented at the same time I rented the truck. 20 mins before the store closed I was informed I couldn't do that and I was at least 45 mins away so I had to keep a fully loaded U-Haul truck in front of my sister's house overnight. I told the clerk at the time that I'll need another day and she said ok. The next morning another clerk called and rudely asked where hers truck? I explained the situation and felt she was unprofessional and the clerk the day before didn't update my reservation or whatever needed to be done from a process perspective which then caused an inappropriate and accusatory reaction from the other clerk. I will not rent from this location and I rented another storage unit at a competitor who made the process easy online.

The customer service to adjust this rental was atrocious. I spent thirty-five minutes on the phone with FIVE different agents to add an additional driver. When I asked to extend my rental one day I was answered with a terrible attitude from the agent at this location. I will never rent from this location again and will recommend that others do not as well.

For a moving day when everything generally goes awry, my experience with U Haul was excellent. The tools and truck were clean, the staff very understanding, and the last minute need for another roll of tape-right there for me to purchase. Best of all, were the moving guys, Milton and Sammy, and Coordinator Demarys. They all had wonderful attitudes and rolled with the punches. They dealt with a broken elevator, steep steps, heavy items…all with a smile! They were amazing!!

No help in telling me what dump is in the area or where the dump was (7 minute drive). Was billed for an extra month and had to get my credit card company to reverse the charges despite telling one of the owners I was cleared out and closing my account. All this on top of the unit being extremely expensive.

Facility is extremely clean and secure. Throughout my 16 years, storing my dental office equipment at your facility has had several phases. The facility and support staff are excellent. There have been two managers (including the current woman), who should not be allowed to have any position of authority. For some individuals, a little power is a dangerous thing.

This was my third or forth time using your facility, I have told friends how this is a secure place which I absolutely love I have a friend who is currently renting two storage units from y'all now !!! Everything went well. The door on the truck was extremely hard to open. The lift gate, opened easily the first 3" then it was extremely difficult. I was not able to tell the office as they were closed when I returned the truck.

I've used this facility before. At any time of the day/night I would add or remove things from storage. This time I was met with not being able to get into the storage after 10pm, even though I was already in the building and unloading my truck. I was then forced to keep my items in the truck until I could get into the storage (after talking to every customer service person). I finally was able to get my stuff off the truck in the morning and was charged for a second day for it. So all in all, my experience was terrible

Parking is definitely a problem there. It's usually all clogged up and can be difficult to get your stuff in and out, especially if it's big furniture.

My life's belongings were in Waterbury UHaul storage for six months. Everything was just as I had left it when I first stored them in this climate controlled facility. This location is clean friendly and convenient and I would definitely use Waterbury U-Haul storage again if needed.

The repeated issues that were brought to management and the way that they were never addressed is unacceptable. The entire summer there was NO air conditioning till the last week in August 2022, thereby breaching the contract of renting and claiming the facility be a "Climate Control". I was never offered any compensation for this issue.

I'm an employee and I've been having a hard time with everything I was literally homeless for a few months and was literally just getting settled with my new apartment and was gonna pay off my balance but instead of understanding that I've been going through a lot and let me do like a payment plan they sold everything I own and left me with nothing I think that's very unreasonable seeing how I brake my back for this company and really do enjoy working here. I don't understand how you treat someone like that when I try my best everyday I come to work. And knowing I was going through all that you still sit there and put me through worse. I don't think I deserved that but i get it with all the policies and stuff but at the end of day I would of payed my balance but instead of getting your money that I owed you you rather sell my unit for 10 dollars.

When someone ask for 24/7 access, how to acquire it should be clear. Not by someone being locked out of the building at 12a despite an employee stating we had 24 hr access to the unit. The door opening is the first step to actual access. This cost us time and money that wasn't necessary.

I'm very frustrated with the Waterbury u-haul. I paid in cash for 6 months. I closed out one of my units early was only credited back 2 months instead of 3 still trying to get that money back $209. I had another unit which was still paid in full. I came in one day to grab a few items and my access code locked out. Went back the next day during business hours to find a lock on my unit stating I was past due!!! I immediately went to the front desk to handle this to find out the computer system was saying I owed money. After dealing with the front desk which they were very helpful I was finally able to get it somewhat resolved until I started getting emails from you haul stating I was pass due and my items could potentially be auctioned off. Again back to the front desk and more dealing with them. It eventually got figured out but it was very frustrating. And now again after closing out both units I'm still awaiting my refund of $209 for a money I paid for that wasn't used. I mean come on. I paid over 3k upfront I shouldn't be having to deal with this.

Regional manager should review contracts before trying to change contract terms. My contract did not require a 'disk' style lock (it predated that requirement), but the RM was going to lock me out of my unit for not using a 'disk' lock. My contract dated back to 2011. U-haul emails 'encouraged' existing customers to use these locks, but did not require them.

I had storage for 2,5 years, almost the whole time I paid every month on time even the first year of the pandemic, the last couple of months I was late and harassed by email, text & call & by my secondary person on account, I also know other people whom had storage that had been late every month and there last payment wasn't paid for 3 months and you gave her option to pick up her belongings without payment. I was a valued customer and I was decent to this company and feel I was definitely cheated and harassed. And on day of completed move out I asked for a detailed bill dummy of my whole account and was told I couldn't get one and you don't do that. Well I believe that's a bad business and bad customer service. I pray for you all and this business for other valued customers. Unless I get a detailed bill of my account or some rebate of refund I wouldn't recommend this business to anybody or anyone. I did contact someone that worked before I moved out and the day I moved out. No help or assistance

I had to jump through hoops for my free months rent and was unable to access storage unit for almost 2 weeks then charged late fee and never refunded late fee then when I tried to get in it still had red lock on unit. Loading and unloading sucks when you have several trucks being retrurned parked in front so it makes it very hard to load and unload. Late fee the day after unit is due in think is ridiculous. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will never use this facility again. This was 3rd time using but never again.

The customer service was excellent and helpful. I rented two 10 x 15 for a year. In the beginning the facility was clean. In the past 4 - 5 months, it has not been cleaned. Bathrooms have no paper towels and recently no hand soap. It is in a great location., so I would recommend the place if the two concerns are addressed.

My husband and brother moved everything out and upon waiting on a rental truck there was nothing available but a cargo van. When looking at the van the van had a very bad smell. I asked for Another van, when she replied there is nothing left. Also I had to go 1 way 30 minutes away and it was a big inconvenience having to go to another location to pick up another truck and return back there. When giving me the truck the truck barely had any gas. Took more time for me to leave the facility then actually going there getting my things out and going about my way. Horrible experience I wasn't happy at all.

The Waterbury uhaul facility is by far the best uhaul location we have used. We frequently rent trucks for our job and have used a few different locations (all of which have been good) but the Waterbury location has a great manager (I think her name is Alexis) as well as the best staff who always go above & beyond.

I cannot remember the name of the person who helped me at the bank street location 05/26 around 3pm but she was most helpful and really showed me how much Uhaul cares about customer service. Answered all my questions showed me everything and went above and beyond all my expectations.

There was a problem getting me access. The card keys didn't work. When I called the day of my move they said I didn't have a reservation when I had gone in person to make one. When I was given a storage unit and went to start unloading, the unit had a lock on it. I had to go back down to get another unit on a different floor. I ended up having to pay the movers an hour extra for all the delays.

There used to be a lot of homeless that would use the bathroom and stay in storage units all day, which made it unsafe. The staff was not very accommodating. More often than not they would make you feel like you should be happy they're helping you. Limited parking, low amounts of carts, and a dirty lobby all made for a bad experience!

While the staff was very nice and apologetic, I had a few issues with the service. I want to start by saying the woman working with us was new, so this is not her problem, but it was managements. Primarily I want to start off by saying NO ONE was wearing masks which is not okay right now. That was my primary issue because that's a safety/health issue and i am at risk. This move was not optional and i expected Ubaul to comply with health & safety directiom put forth by the CDC. In addition, the manager was walking around the store getting really close to me and walking around the store while the woman helping us (clearly new to Uhaul) was struggling. Our check in process took 55 minutes which was frustrating for many reasons. I missed my move out slot in NYC and because of that, I lost my reserved parking spot for my building. Everything we moved had to be carried around the block to where we were able to find a spot. I do however appreciate that they let us keep the van until the next morning. Everyone was nice and apologetic it is just frustrating that the process took so long and that the staff was not respectful enough to understand that everyone else coming in and out of the building was wearing a mask. There are glass shields at the register (which frankly is not enough) but I had plenty of interactions with employees away from that desk.

I had to obtain a storage unit due to moving from my home to a temporary apartment and needing a place to store my goods. I found your facility convenient, clean, climate controlled, but above all that, your team was above and beyond my expectations. They made my experience easy and comfortable and very friendly. I would DEFINITELY recommend using your location for storage and moving needs!

The staff at this location is terrible, I have had great service at franchise locations but this one is uhaul owned and the service is so bad uhaul should be ashamed and embarrassed, start swinging the axe and start with the manager.

The facility was clean and well-maintained. The staff was extremely helpful and mostly cheerful. All in all, it was a very easy move-in for a full three-bedroom house's worth of furniture and boxes.
