Rude staff, lazy staff. When returning the U-Haul staff was present but made me do the return even though the app was working. I'm not sure if it ever went through fully.

ANTHONY T.When I pick the truck up it had a quarter of a tank of fuel when I returned it I had a full tank of fuel and I asked him about it has more fuel in it now than it did when I picked it up is there any chance to give me credit for the fuel that I gave to U-Haul they told me no and I would not get any credit for that I think it's sad that I put over $100 of fuel in the truck in returned it to U-Haul and they would not even give me credit for the fuel that I purchased for their vehicle then I demand that I get my fuel back because you are stealing from me that's not right U-Haul you know it you need to correct this problem

I was only supposed to put it a little past half a tank but the gauge was not reading correctly when I originally filled it with $41 dollars. I should have only put $20 because I didn't not drive as much. Am I able to be compensated for that? Also the side mirror would move after ever bump.
LaRonjanae C.I had a good experience, besides 1. almost being charged for a truck that was already cleaned out because apparently they had to “mop it†when I followed all instructions for clean out, was swept, emptied. 2. Was almost charged for the gas when i had filled it up to exactly where it was when i picked it up. Both of these were going to be charged until i had mentioned my concern to the employee, AFTER she had already done the inspection-and it was taken off. To be honest i felt like i was being ripped off in the moment and was highly unsatisfied with the employees lack of attention and potentially charging people money for things that they shouldn't be. I had also been charged $55 previous to me even having my inspection BEFORE dropping the truck off.

We didn't have that much snow and there were other trucks up front just like mine ready to go!? Why assign me one and not have it ready? I had come in early to be on time, and was late to start and Meer people I Paid to help me move cause no one knew I needed my truck then it's buried! Then I was running late to bring truck back @4p.m and needed an hour, till 5p.m, and was charged almost $70 for an hour!! And lady on phone acted like I was asking for a day! She was soooo nasty. I had such a stressful day from being because of delay getting truck then treated like shit at the end by your company again!! I did later that evening grt my $70 but why so nasty?? And why take so much money to start from for an hour?? OMG it was a nightmare with this! The only people I can say were great was new girl signing me in! It was ALL down hill from there! Worst experience there in the almost 20 years been coming to this location!!

She complained when i asked her a question about the size inside a van. Her response "I love how people just assume we know these things" while rudely handing me a brochure. I replied "I didn't assume anything, all I did was ask you a question". The other staff seemed pleasant but who knows. Maybe all of the staff have that attitude. And she stopped handling one customer so she could pay out another employee cash.

richard E.pulled in to drop off the trailed in the rain. gentleman came over to greet me and asked if i would self check in and to park it next to the other car hauler. i went over and scanned the qr code and it kept giving me an error. another lady walks out and asks if i would move the trailer. i said no i wouldnt becuase he told me to put it there and it isnt my job to do theirs. then they proceed to tell me they will get it checked in later in which i was not okay with and used my other cell phone to check the trailer in and it worked. im sure they are just busy and things happen but its like the wild wild west going there.

Had to go back in store to get another truck key and all the girl was worried about was that it wasn't her fault and was very condescending such as not my fault don't be upset with her…no customer empathy… very disappointed in customer service or there lack of.
Tamera S.I rent uhauls often and the last few times has been nothing but hell. From the manager at the one in elyria ohio to the staff where I dropped off the trailer. No help at all from the drop off location to unhook the trailer. I get it's cold put but they have a job to do and help the customer. All he did was point and say drop it there. I asked him can I get some help and he said when your done pull up and I'll five you a receipt. All in all if there was another company to get a trailer from I'd go there but my hands are tied and uhaul is the only place around me I can get a trailer. If I could give a negative number score I would. The prices are never what they say they are on my reservation. Just all in all very unhappy.

MICHELLE P.Everything about this rental experience was a nightmare. From reservation to pickup to dropoff. When I made the reservation on Wednesday 1/10, the agreed-upon dropoff location for my one-way move to Edinboro, PA was in Cambridge Springs, about 10 minutes from my destination. We will come back to that. When I came on Friday 1/12 to pick up the trailer, the girl at the desk tried to tell me I had to drop it off in Erie, PA, which was about 27 minutes from the destination. This was unacceptable. I reminded her that my agreed-upon reservation drop off was in Cambridge Springs. She pulled it up and put it in. Then it was time to get my trailer hooked up to my truck. In the pickup area, there were obstacles everywhere, and very little communication with me as to where to drive my truck, and then where to back up to get near the trailer. They connected and attached the trailer, only to tell me there was a running light on the trailer that was out. They told me that if I got it ticket for it, it would not be on UHaul--it would be on ME. That, of course, is insane. Give me a defective trailer that is not road-safe, and then tell me if there was a citation, it would be MY responsibility? So they disconnected and asked me to make a very risky maneuver to back up in a tight space, on an angle, so they could try to stretch the electrical connection from another trailer, which was BEHIND a different trailer, to my truck to see if the lights worked on that one. I did so--which was not easy considering the driving rain and the blurred out back-up camera on the truck. So the lights worked, and they had to use a hand truck to move the one that was in front of it out of the way. Once again, they asked me to back up to the new trailer, which I did. After connecting the trailer, they gave me a wave and a thumbs up to pull away in the very tight space between trucks and trailers, so I pulled away. As I did so, there was a loud screeeeech, which turned out to be the fender of my trailer, rubbing up against the fender of another trailer, which was of course outside of my control. After they manually moved the other trailer away, I was able to pull away and finally get on my way. A few hours later, I got a text message from one of the girls who worked the reservation and the pickup for me, telling me that she had forgotten to take a picture of the hookup, which was REQUIRED before I departed. She asked me to go outside in the driving rain and take a picture of it and text it to her. I politely did so. The drive to Edinboro was without incident. However, on Saturday, it was time to return the trailer to the dropoff point in Cambridge Springs. I called the number for the place that was given to me by your employee--and I got no answer. This was concerning. When I pulled up to the location, it became clear whey there was no answer. Big sign on the front of the shop with the hours listed: Monday-Friday only. Yes, they sent me to a shop on a Saturday that was CLOSED. I called your store to ask what to do, and naturally, there was no answer. I was routed to some regional number, and the people there were absolutely useless. They told me to drop the trailer there myself. Which I had ZERO idea on how to do. No one at the Elyria location told me how to hook it up, nor how to unhook it, nor that I would be going to a closed store and that I'd have to do it myself. She then told me to take it to a different location, which was now 37 minutes away, a 74 minute round trip, which I did NOT have time to do. When I registered my disgust with this experience, the rep. hung up on me. When I called your store again--again no answer--I got a different rep who tried to tell me the same thing. Again, she hung up on me. I called your store for a 3rd time, and finally got someone to answer. After explaining everything to her about this disaster--I was told it is NOT UHaul's responsibiliy to know the hours of all the UHaul locations in the country, and it was not their fault that the placed they sent me to was closed. Which is insane. Of COURSE it is your job to know. Whose goddamn job was it? Mine? I was the CUSTOMER. YOU are the ones who sent me to the location--you sure as hell should have known if it was even an option. If it was going to be closed, I should have been instructed on what to do. Eventually I got out of my truck and disconnected the chains the electrical and then somehow lifted that extraordinarily heavy trailer off of my ball hitch and dropped it right there. I told your representative that 99 % of the men who might rent from you could NEVER have done this. I happen to be a big man, and anyone smaller than me would never have been able to budge it. The rep. at your store then told me that I would have to call that location on Monday to tell them I dropped it off on time. Which was insane. Why in the living hell would I have to spend my time calling the store that was closed and telling them that I dropped it off on time. What good would that do? It would by my word against UHaul's anyway, and based on the horrendous experience I had to that point, who the hell woudl trust UHaul to be honest about it? I told her that I was leaving that trailer where it was, and that I was DONE with my UHaul experience. Not once was I offered compensation for any of the troubles I endured. Not once was I offered an apology. Not once did anyone at UHaul try to make things right for me. Then....you have the stones to send me a "Review" link. Well it was received. Memo to all truck and trailer renters: Call Ryder. Call Penske. Buy your own truck. Build a covered wagon. Do anything you have to. But do NOT rent from Uhaul.

But if I do have to, I still can do it without making the customer feel like they're an inconvenience. The service rep woman at the counter got pissy with me when I was venting about mobile pickup not being as advertised (I still had to go inside to get my key, something I was hoping to avoid by choosing mobile pickup), she snapped at me that it's great when there's a line, and then said "I haven't eaten and I need to use the restroom." and sarcastically apologized for not dropping the key in the drop box. I let her know that I just had my whole top row of teeth extracted the day before and was wearing a brand new set of dentures and asked her if she still wanted to argue who was having the worse day. She kept quiey after that but the interaction stuck with me for a few hours.

Once we were being waited on we were told the unit we reserved was not available and that we could get non climate controlled or go to another facility. Staff was unprofessional, griping, and antagonistic. Their knowledge about their own processes and computer systems was severely lacking. Gate access to the storage area was not working, even after getting two access cards activated. What should have been a 20 minute visit turned into an hour+ headache of an ordeal.

I had a flood in my house and lost almost everything. The little bit of belongings that I could salvage I wanted to store safely. I went into U-Haul in Lorain and rented a truck and storage unit. I will never use U-Haul again or refer anyone to them. The office staff was so unhelpful and rude if I wasn't so desperate I would have left and went somewhere else. When renting a storage unit for the first time I had no idea how it worked. The office staff didn't explain how it worked or even what to do. One guy at the desk could not complete my transaction because he didn't have a cash drawer so I thought he was getting another employee to help me as other customers were coming in and getting waited on I'm just standing there. So I finally asked the guy at the desk why I wasn't getting any assistance and he said well you have to get in another line. I have never been there before I didn't know I had to go to another line. I just lost all my belongings to a flood I'm completely heartbroken at what is going on in my life and just needing a storage unit for a while until I get my house back in order. I'm sorry I'm sure this comment won't help anyone and probably no one will even read it so I'm probably just wasting my time.

The G.M there charged me 11,95 plus tax for a lock which I didn't notice until next day.2 big signs there show locks regularly 11,95 for 9,95 went back for the difference and she made all kinds of reasons that she charged 11,95 employee there tried to refund the difference but GM didn't let her. victor s. | Expérience généraleNote: Due to other problems at this location relating to truck rental, my move in date went from originally being scheduled for 02-11-23 to 02-12-23. The storage I reserved, had a rusted lock handle that look like it could give someone tetanus (the other storage units around were not rusted) and I had to ask them to assist because it would not open (one of the staff came out and oiled it. I didn't get his name but he had a major attitude during the whole process. The staff member named Asia never added the insurance coverage, as she reassured me should would, for the storage at the end of the billing process/check out process. She was courteous but did not follow through with these situations. I am extremely disgusted by the experience at the Elyria, Ohio location. Truly I am. I am considering if I can find a way to take my storage items somewhere else locally. As a customer I don't need to be made to feel as if I am bothering you on the job. Unbelievable.

That resulted in a denied access on my next visit, which I noticed after further inspection of the plethora of signs on the facility. Completely my fault. Only thing was, I wasn't immediately sure what the proper course of action was after that. I was able to head into the store / office, and was then granted a key card to swipe on the gate and exit keypad that I was informed about. But I am still am not sure what would be the proper course of action should that happen during hours where the office / store is closed. I was previously unaware of a key card being available, so it was a pleasant surprise. Otherwide my experience was very enjoyable and an happy with my unit.

lucas S. | Expérience généraleThe female manager screwed up and double booked the same truck and tried to put the blame on me - so she lied and said I brought my truck back on a half a tank of gas. She also tried charging me for two days when I didn't even have the truck 13 hours. I called corporate and they continually apologized for their employees behavior. Fore, she didn't expect me to have documented evidence of paying for gas and a full tank. She also said I went X amount of miles, but if she had put thought into her lies she would had realized the math to miles and gas didn't add up. I have proof that every single thing she said was a lie. And I hope to god someone high-up sees this post and investigates into her because she should so not be a manager. She's going to get Uhaul a lawsuit filed against them … the way she does customers.

When I arrived yesterday for my reserved 10x10x8 storage room with an established move in date, I was told that the unit I had reserved was not available. The only one I could get was 10x5x8. Which is roughly half the room I was expecting. We were lucky enough to puzzle piece everything together to get it all to fit, but as a company you shouldn't rug pull your customers like that. Just makes me never want to go through uhaul again.

I then had to get 2 storage units instead of one and the price was double what I was originally quoted. I was assured by the manager that she would get the price adjusted. I waited for 2 months and my calls were ignored by the manager. At one point I was denied access due to late payment aft we r being instructed not to pay until the price was corrected. In the end I was still charges over 100 dollars more than I was originally quoted. I would recommend never using Uhaul storage.

We were not told of this requirement at check in. Received a call requesting a change 1 week after we checked in and had left the area.
