When we arrived to get our truck, it was cold and rainy and of course the truck that we were to get was way back in the backyard of the location and took a while for them to get out. My recommendation for approval on this would be to have the trucks that you know are reserved lined up to come accordingly - even bring them to the Front parking lot on a time rotation if necessary. We are paying U-Haul to rent their vehicles, we shouldn't have to go and try to hunt them down amongst all the other trucks that are being rented out on any given day. Also, we were going to use the U-Haul app and to return the vehicle because it would have been after they closed and the app didn't work for us. We ended up having to call the 800 number and she helped us with the return procedure.

I have been a long time loyal customer of this location, but the poor customer service I received on Sunday 3/17/24 made me decide to never comeback. The caucasian female that was working in the morning was terribly rude and aggressive. I returned the truck but did not get a receipt. 1 hour later my husband called and spoke with a nice male employee. The employee figured out that the woman never checked in the truck. He was able to close the transaction and sent us an email receipt. I knew by the way she treated me that she would do something damaging to my account. I urged my husband to call after an hour of not getting my email receipt. I have called several times and this woman put me on hold for a long time never picking up to help. I have place a review on yelp and will never comeback or refer anyone.

I received a text one day prior that I couldn't park on the property. After speaking to three people I was told I could. Received a text day of rental that the type of vehicle I reserved had changed. Received email on day of rental that said my reservation was changed to electronic. I ended up going into the location and was able to pick it up that way. I had pre-paid and was told they couldn't honor that price because they had a price increase a few days ago. I was also told that the vehicle was filled to a certain mark, it was not. Take photos before you leave the lot of miles and gauge marker. I will never return to this location again. The entire experience was a mess.

I parked at the drop off location entered the store and asked the employee behind the counter, (white woman, short, blonde, hair) what I needed to do to drop off a trailer. She told me I needed to enter the return line and wait to be greeted by an employee. She was extremely rude, and as I turned around to look for the return line, she was shaking her head at me. I was then greeted by a young guy who was very helpful and polite at the return line. Wish I could say the same about my initial Contact at this location.

Start to finish, this was one of the smoothest customer experiences of my life. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. I got checked in immediately, had folks guide me to the trailer, they hooked it up for me, and I was away in no time. Once I was done, it was the same in reverse - quick check of the equipment, back to the lot, and I didn't even have to get out of my vehicle while the trailer was unhooked and I was on my way. The truck was in not great shape. Hard to shift gears, very difficult to accelerate and get up any inclines. I make some allowances for the fact that is is a big truck but this is the worst U Haul experience I have ever had. I was charged for a dolly that I did not use and that I was told would be removed from my charges. The data said the truck had a half tank of gas when I started. It defintely did not.

I rented an AO trailer 5x8 and picked up at 830 and dropped off around 1230. Got a call around 345 asking where there trailer was. I told them I returned it. The caller said okay we will look into it. They didn't apologize for interrupting my evening and we very demanding. Not a very warm and fuzzy feeling from this day starting from the beginning sales person to the last caller. The return check back person was great though.

The storage unit had an infestation of moths. So the manager moved us to another unit and it also had an infestation of moth s. Restore clothes in there so we had to move to another facility. The staff was very kind tried to help the unit would have worked except for dealing with the moths.

The facility on Plank Road in Fredericksburg, Virginia is wonderful. The staff there is friendly, very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. I recently had to move into a larger unit and they made the whole process so easy. The facility itself is spotless and I actually enjoy going there to manage my things in storage. My only complaint is I think most of the time the loading dock for the storage facility is used as overflow parking. I find it harder and harder to find a spot when I load or unload my storage space.

If I had to do again, I would rent again with U-Haul and be smarter. The service, facility, and hours met my needs. What I didn't like was, I moved out my unit 3 weeks before my next payment was due, and I didn't receive a refund for those three weeks. In essence, someone else could move in the next day and pay for the month making that the unit has been paid for twice. I wasn't happy about that one bit. I felt like I had been taken advantage of. I called the next day, and the unit had been rented out. Although I live out of state, I never missed a payment. Right is right, and wrong is wrong! This was wrong! I could understand if they weren't able to rent out the unit for 3 weeks, but here…they rented it out the NEXT DAY. Double money for the company's pocket, or the manager's pocket; certainly not my pocket.

First time I ever rented storage at U-Haul. Great experience. 1 month. Staff and online check in made everything easy. The on site carts and large elevator helped make loading/unloading quick and easy. If I ever need a storage locker again I will definitely use U-Haul.

The young lady that helped me was very thoughtful and she made sure I was happy with the storage unit. I had gotten the 5x5 online and it was like a closet. I was never going to fit even a quarter of my things in there. Then I got the 5x10 , Wow! It was 5 ft deep and 10 ft high. Again, not going to fit my things in there. And who stacks stuff that high? So she helped me get a 10x10 and that did the trick! I'm so glad she had the patience and took the time to help me find it. Customer service is not lost with her. Great service!

I adore the way I have been treated by the older staff members under Jenna. Heather is also a part of that regime. The older staff members are also polite , helpful, friendly, and courteous. I have tried to stay out of trouble by always making my payments on time. The lesson is in life that each one teaches one. Treat your clients the way you would like them to respect your Business. The facilities were great in regards to access, cleanliness and hours. The administration part was an issue. (1) I was unable to obtain various receipts, according to the clerks " i don't know why it did not print." (2) The web site did not let me complete service request, end up having to call 1800 #. I would use UHaul again. Great prices.

Facolity was clean and convenient. We appreciate having the dollies at our disposal to load and unload. There is an area where one can leave unvwanted items to be donated to Charitable organizations. We had an issue at the beginning when returned UHaul vehicles blocked our exit. The management remediated the problem with better signage, so drivers knew where to park the trucks without blocking people using the storage area.

Made a reservation on March 7 by phone and later confirmed by Jennie's who I was told later she was now president of the new region. Went to reserve a truck and pay rental fee for the reserved unit. There was not a reservation to my chagrin. I spoke with two associates and Heather said they were full for the March 27 or other end of March. She sId they it might old. Up but they would definitely would find a 10 x 10 x 12' unit and call me to confirm. Heather promised to get back the same dY. I called later that day and was told that someone was working on it. Received. Call later that evening confirming g that I had confirmation. Original move date was March 28 but movers called dY before with a s heduking problem. I phoned UHaul to. Notify that the move would be 1 day later and reconfirmed so that the date and unit would be available. On March 29 I got the truck which took much longer than reasonable since I had a confirmation.which two people 30 minutes to locate. I then said I wanted to pay for the unit and get the location and purchase a lock. I was told no that wasn't the way to do it and I needed to wait until we came back to move in. I assumed we would be that 6 pm. When we returned at 4 pm I was told they didn't not have a reservation for me and they spent 30 minutes "looking at a monitor". Total insanity or a game that was being played staring yes you have a reservation and then give it to the first person that shows up. I would have gladly paid for the unit on the first reservation but I was total no not necessary. I am still very angry that the movers had to stuff my furniture into 2 5x5units which were wholly inadequate. Some items are to be sold and were in pristine condition as were a couple of antiques. My bus x and I were left with 10 boxes which we had to go to another storage rental and we had to pl ace them ours elves since movers had a schedule. To rectify this situation I want UHaul to either find a climate contolled u I'm the size requested or larger. And the charge remIn the sMe amount as was originally quoted and with me supervising move my items from units 1602-18. I would like a reply by Wed April 6.

Initially I had a problem with the customer service the morning I was getting my rental. There were not enough employees available for the amount of people that were standing in line. If you are on a schedule oh, they would surely throw you off. The wait was definitely too long.

My unit leaked, so all of my "valued" items are totally destroyed, unusable, or non-salvageable. For example a complete set of Agatha Christie novels, hard padded volumes lost, as well as many other book collections. Much lost at a cost in excess of $230 per month seems to get a much less than favorable review. To make matters worse, I was told that I would receive a call for an insurance claim, but that has not happened yet. So thank you for nought.

Unfortunately I have to rate my experience average. Prior to the pandemic I was extremely satisfied with everything. During the pandemic I would receive letters every few months informing me of an increase in prices. For people struggling this was not ideal. Hence the reason I chose to close my storage.

The staff rushed me through the process. The truck was damaged. The fuel rating was higher than the amount of gas in the tank. I had to find my truck on my own. No-one took me to show me my storage unit. I'm cancelling the storage unit. Doubtful if I'll ever use U-Haul again. I also had another storage unit reserved at international Pkwy which I was told was 8 ft high only to find out it was actually 6 feet high when I saw my reservation. I cancelled that and used another storage company which costs more, but the better access and service is worth it

only thing I could possibly complain about is the difficulty of wheeling a cart off the platform to a vehicle. An easy remedy to fix until the facilty can remodel the platform would be to NOT park trucks at the end of the ramp - that makes it impossible.

The fees are outrageous if even 1 day late. Especially after how pricey the units already are.The fact that your unit gets locked immediately if your late. Inside the units are dark. As long as the renter has a code there should be access in main door not small side one because not all items will fit. The staff isn't helpful, got left on hold then disconnected numerous times. Only had 1 pleasant customer service experience from May 2020 till February 2021.

Staff offered to align opening for door lock when they saw us struggling with trying to get lock to work. Actually put a new mechanism on gave ahdn had a key wainting for us when we returned.. Overall nice. Plenty of cart to help move. Mattress carts are too narrow to move deep mattresses. Need trash cans around entrance. No trash cans was actually really annoying, I would travel to the storage from many miles away and often had drink or food containers to dispose of. Also packaging debris. Climate control could have a narrower range as well. The elevator is slow and if someone is loading it up and be delayed for some time. Need alterations to get down/up from lower levels, like usable stairs.

The original truck that left Otto, NC , had no steering fluid or Transmission fluid in it.. called U-haul and the mechanic said there was nothing wrong with the truck. Only to find that when we got to Fredericksburg , VA that the truck was on the decommission list... Made several payments over the phone with Fredericksburg, VA only to find out later that the payment was never made. And that there was a lien against it.. (so very stressed out about it )because I was living in NY at the time. this occurrence happened several times. And was always on the phone with Jeanne to fix this issue. (she was fabulous).. Picked up the truck from U-haul in Fredericksburg, Va with a half tank of gasoline to return it to Homer with a half tank of gas only to be charged again with a 7/8 of a tank to fill the tank. SMH.. Really disappointed.

I've used U-Haul down through the years in various locations as I was a military wife for many years. I've used other moving/storage companies too; however, as I said to my family member this time "I now know why I kept coming back to U-Haul." The cost of storage this time seemed to be extremely affordable. Perhaps it was COVID-19 related; but, nonetheless, cost was very reasonable for the same (if not better) service and facility. Plank Road facility in Fredericksburg, VA, YOU ROCK!!

This part of the UHaul experience was part of a move from DC to Fredericksburg. The rest of the experience was absolutely HORRIBLE. Our pickup location and time was moved 5 times in one day!!! Whoever does that scheduling should be fired!! I have used UHaul many times in the past as I am retired military. This was the worst experience ever!! The people in the Fredericksburg office were fantastic though and did set up the storage and walked me through the process very well. Don't know if I will ever use the UHaul truck renting again though.

I was over charged on my monthly storage bill for lock removal after I already paid separately for it . Then when I called back for my refund it took longer then normal to credit my card back , I called in to report it and the associate said she doesn't know what I'm talking about and didn't see a refund in process . I then moved on 6/13 I got a cargo van I went 1 exit from the uhaul storage facility and back I was then charged $187 additional dollars ( I already paid $37 at check out ) the invoice said I went over 100 miles and the gas was incorrect, I called in that same evening advised the customer service rep I think the guy checked in the wrong vehicle under my name i didn't even travel 20 miles and the gas is wrong she said ok I'll talk with management and reimburse you ! It is now Tuesday and I had to call to inquire , I asked for a manager the customer service agent said nobody is available and she'll call back . My card was charged $215 dollars yesterday from uhaul ! I'm displeased This whole company and I've been a customer and maintained a storage with you'll along time and now especially during this Covid-19 crisis I don't need issues with money . I would like a member of upper management to contact me this is not good business

I couldn't get in my storage unit at the return unit after I got back to the store. The truck battery cable had to be tightened. Couldn't get the truck to start after loading. It is still loaded.
