We have been coming to this location for a long time. And we have always had a great experience. The Staff are always professional and kind. Most of the time when we rented a cargo van for in city driving. This is the first time we drove out of the city. The van we had was bad. when we got to 65mph the front tires would start to swerve back and forth like we were driving on ice. So, we had to lower the speed to stop the swerving. there was a scrapping sound coming from around both tires when the wheel was turned. My Wife was originally driving, but she has bad anxiety, so we pulled over and I drove the rest of the way. Even though we had issues with the van we rented we would still recommend this location in Galesburg IL.

Systemic break-in to units occurred with my unit being one. Lack of adequate camera coverage was instrumental to inability to identify and prosecute perpetrators. Very little assistance from management was forthcoming. U-Haul took no responsibility - legally or otherwise.

I thought the monthly price for the small quarters was $45.95. Realized later it was higher; can't afford to pay a monthly bill at $74.95. And on move out day I noticed a dead roach at the door of my storage!

I was told to pull under the canopy when returning the vehicle and someone would meet me out there. When pulling under the canopy, no one came to help. I went inside, there were no customers in the building.

This was such a great help during our move! The convenience of returning our moving truck to the same location as our indoor, climate-controlled storage was fantastic. We needed two units, and they helped find two side-by-side. Everything is secure, and the check-in/out process gives you peace of mind.

Staff were friendly and efficient. The check out and check in processes were painless. Thank you for that. The truck I rented was clean and a little dinged up, but dings were marked clearly and did not impact performance of the truck. The truck ran well. Noise levels were high because the driver's side door did not close well, although it finally did so when I used some force. The side mirror rattled loudly. For the few miles I needed the vehicle to move a sofa, it was really the BEST experience. For a long haul, the rattle and door would have been a concern. Thank you for asking.

Any one staff member could/would have trouble lifting the tongue of the 6 by 12 trailer I rented onto the hitch of my vehicle. I was happy and able to assist with this and admit I would not have been able to do so by myself.

I returned my truck with around 1/16 of tank of gas over where I picked it up but when they charged my card it said I was 1/8 below where it should have been.

Very accommodating, knowledgeable, and pleasant staff. This was my first time renting a storage unit and I was relieved and satisfied with the treatment and the layout. The only issue I had that would have made a significance difference in my experience was a lack of carts-there was only a handful and all were in use so we carried all of our boxes. I have only been in the facility once so my views may evolve.

My unit was literally broken into from the top. Management was uncooperative and unsympathetic. They did not follow proper procedures or cooperate with police. I will continue to spread my story and experience along with the many other stories of thefts from this location that I have since discovered. I am extremely unhappy and will continue to voice my opinion through reviews and social media.

Very nice facility, staff was nice and helpful, only thing was it would have been nice to have more outside units to have easier access with a truck or trailer, or wider space between inside units to be able to drive right up to the units to make loading or unloading more convenient, otherwise very pleased with the facility.

Only reason I rated this way,so my experience when I moved in. Had made reservations, checked on my reservations had a truck no unit. Then the place didn't have a truck ,had to go another place for the truck,another place for the dolly. Got to storage the unit had a lock on it,had to switch to another unit, thought everything was okay, nope,my unit had another lock saying it was paid. Went to the office found out the guy that set me up never changed things in the computer. Big mess,my key wouldn't unlock my unit. They had to get a ladder to peek over and asked me what was in it. Had to get permission to cut the lock off,so I can get into my unit.Finally got everything straighten out thanks to Brian,he was a big help. Oh and when the other guy was there never answered the phone.

We had a great experience in our 2 day van rental. I think the only thing that could have made it better was a full tank of gas at pick up time. We only had 3/8 tank and had to fill up before heading to our destination.

Clean, climate-controlled, secure place to store some of our fragile items during our recent move. Everything went very smoothly, from checking in, accessing our unit, and checking out. Reservations and payments could also be made online, which was super convenient. All the employees I interacted with were very helpful. Would recommend this location to anyone needing a storage unit.

I used the U-Haul truck and the free months storage with no problem. I had to buy another month's storage because I needed a little more time to get things out. I used a little more than a week, went in on a Saturday and saw live roaches. Got everything out except for a couch and chair and when I came back 2 Days later they must have sprayed cuz there were numerous dead ones in the locker on the floor. I was not happy as I will not put these in my house now or cannot until I am sure they are roach free. I asked for a discount since I was out more than 2 weeks early, but no go. Beware! They do spray but apparently waited a little too long.

We we were stopped in Indiana by 4 cops telling us that our truck was reported stolen!!! Took hours before that got cleared up!! So we were several hours later to reach our destination. Terrible experience for the first time renting U-Haul.

Everything was perfect. One suggestion: If a person pays for say 30 days, and removes Everything prior to that, maybe a daily rate return for the days not used. Since this is for temporary storage, its a way to sweeten the pot for those looking for temp storage. Thank you......

Initially, I was told I would have to drive an hour away to pick up my equipment. I was really annoyed at this and expressed my dislike and questioned why U-Haul wasn't transporting my equipment to the place where I was to pick it up. They in fact did just that. Very pleased with the customer service.

Easy to reserve a storage unit online, check in process was very smooth. Both employees I interacted with were extremely helpful and friendly. I really appreciated the covered loading/unloading area, as it was raining when I checked in. My assigned unit was clean and easy to access, and it was very helpful to have access to the moving carts. Overall, great move-in experience.

Nobody showed up to work, could not get the GM, so we couldn't get the truck we ordered. Took almost 2 hrs on the phone with several ppl to get a replacement truck. It was horrible! I will never use your location in Galesburg again

We I arrived the internet was down and I was told that I couldn't get my truck. The rep did the transaction through his cell phone. (Thank God). I also did get an email after I returned the truck to verify the mileage. Only complaint I have is with the bathroom. Usually had no toilet paper and seemed not the cleanest. But I don't fault the staff for that as it being an all access place people (customers) tend to do what they want and trash the bathroom. Outside of that everything was top notch. Staff is always super friendly and highly professional. Rick (the manager) is excellent at his job and he has the best employees with an impeccable sense of customer service. The service is fast and they are always happy to help. The next time my family moves this location will be the first I call. We will also be taking advantage of the moving crew as well next time. Will happily suggest this location to anyone who needs moving services.

Overall I'd recommend storing items here and renting trucks. However, this experience was not great as it took over 30 minutes to find an open storage unit and get everything situated. The first storage unit they gave me had people actively moving furniture in it. The process was just frustrating yesterday, but it ultimately all worked out. I got my stuff put into my new storage unit- just took way longer than I anticipated. My first time storing here was great- was in and out very quickly. This time however, it seemed that the employees were unfamiliar with the system and the polices. I asked about delivering items to the facility and they claimed they never have done that. Well the sign directly behind them stated that you can ship items and the employees can sign for you. All I wanted to know is if I got something delivered, I could come by the same day and put it in my unit. I left frustrated as they had no clear answer.

My rental unit was to have a lock for use in the unit and there was not one. I had to leave my items unsecured and go purchase an affordable lock myself.

I tried to purchase a lock from this UHaul facility and it didn't work properly. When it came time to exchange the lock for a refund, the manager (Timothy Guerrero) could not figure out how to process the refund. I left the store on Sunday, July 3, 2022, without a refund and a less-than-satisfactory feeling. When I cleaned out my small space after one month, I checked out successfully -- without incident. However, went I went to retrieve an item (I Pass transponder) that I had left behind during a previous rental, I was told by the assistant manager, Dillon Barnes, "that it was a good thing that I found it. I'm surprised the manager didn't toss it out." That same manager saw me on Saturday, July 16, when I successfully cleaned out my storage space, and chose not to come to the counter when I was ready to check out. Why? I'm not sure. I was also promised some type of UHaul VIP certificate to compensate for some of the lack of customer service that I have received over the past three weeks. It has yet to applied to my bank account, and the amount promised (appx. $246) is insufficient to cover these latest round of poor performance on the part of UHaul. I'm sorry to report this. We couldn't have asked for better service during a stressful move. Dillon was awesome!! We had to return our truck on 1/1/2021 but due to an incoming snow storm the store was closed. We contacted the 1-800 for guidance because we had stuff to put into storage and didn't have any storage unit info yet. They advised that we take the truck back home and return it when the store reopened. We showed up the next morning and Dillon showed us around the facility as well as guided us to our unit. The whole process couldn't have been easier! Stress-free experience which is greatly appreciated. Keep up the excellent work!!

Very well maintained and super friendly staff. I would absolutely use the storage again. My brother didn't want to move there initially but once he went there he was sold. My brother continues to keep a smaller unit there. Impressive and feels very safe and secure. If you have a place like this in Fort Lauderdale where I live I would be interested.

Very helpful, understanding and amazing staff. Was impressed with the storage facility and couldn't believe how big it was inside. Only thing that would make this place better is having a way for loading/unloading for pull out forward because it made it a little difficult when you pull up not knowing someone is in there and they can only get out by backing up which made us go around the store then park somewhere off to the side til they was done.

They were compassionate about my situation that I was going through at the time. They were effective, worked in a great timely manner, well educated and they knew their job and did if very well. Thanks Annie and the crew you all ROOOOCK!!!!! GREAT JOB!!!! as a Manager and clerks. The gentlemen and the female employee that worked on that I forgot your names. But you all know who you are. As for U Haul, you all need more facilities like this one. I really like your facility and the President of this facility needs to branch out more.

The manager went above and beyond to help me get a unit, become successful with the swipe card and unit lock, and help me get the boxes I needed to pack up my classroom. She was friendly and very helpful!

At a time of high stress with my classroom needing to be packed up and stored, your staff made things a lot easier. Social distancing rules were being followed to your best ability. Annie (on the phone) and Adam (in store) were both so helpful and kind. Adam went above and beyond to explain the procedures, answer my questions and show me around. I was honestly very impressed with the storage facility. It was clean, secure, and very easy to maneuver. Thanks for so being helpful in a stressful time.
