When I picked up trailer and brought it home, less than 5 miles away, I noted that the right tire was visibly low on air pressure. I checked the air pressure and it was 15 lbs. I checked for visible evidence of a nail, etc. and none was found. I inflated the tire to 50 lbs. and had no other issues over the course of 3 days. Trailer should not have been rented prior to making sure air pressure was correct.

I've rented U-Hauls in the past, but never had this terrible of an experience. When I arrived, I tried to do a mobile check-in and the authorization took far too long, so I ended up just going into the counter. I waited in line for what felt like forever because the two older ladies helping those in front of me were very slow. In their defense, the antiquated computer system that they had also made the whole process so much slower. When it was my turn, the computer gave so many issues we ended up having to switch to a different one. In this day and age, that's just not acceptable. After all of that and being on a time crunch to meet the moving helpers I hired, I made it all the way to the truck parked on the complete opposite side of the lot to discover that none of the equipment I paid for was in the truck so I had to go all the way back multiple times just to wait a long time again to request the equipment which they then had to try to find for me. When I got into the truck, the floorboards were very dirty. Overall, it was not a great experience and caused me to be late getting back to get the move started. I'm not sure what's going on with that location, but seems like they need more or quicker staff and technology. Also, making the online approval process faster could've avoided at least some of the headache. Hope this feedback helps improve the process for future customers.

The staff here was so helpful in helping us decide on which size unit to rent. They answered all our questions and even ones we didn't even think to ask. The location is very clean and feels like a safe place to keep our belongings while in storage.

The time based rental rate charge versus a standard daily rental rate charge doesn't work. I should have stated that I was going to return the truck in 24 hours and returned it early and paid that rate versus estimating that Inwokd was returning in 5 hours and was an hour late thereby paying the penalty. Last, the truck was rented with a full tank of fuel however, I drove a total of 28 miles and had to buy 11 gallons of fuel to return it full. The math doesn't add up and I have the fuel receipt to support this.

Not sure I get the whole check in online as I had to go in and wait in line to get the keys and when I tired to skip the line like the app told me too the desk people wouldn't acknowledge me so I had to wait in line behind 5 others which took a decent amount of time. Next I'll just go straight inside as the whole online process took a while too which you can't do ahead of time. Great idea but poor execution.

There was miscommunication when I made the reservation. I was asked how long I would need the truck I said I would probably be done early afternoon (I think I said 2). When I came in and picked up the truck my reservation said I would return the truck at 1. At no time during either reservation process was I aware that I was not renting the truck for 24 hours and if I did not return the truck when I thought I was going to be done with the truck I would owe another $50. I started getting phone calls and text messages when I was using the truck to bring the truck back or I would owe another $50. I ended up bringing the truck back late afternoon.

The truck I was provided was terrible. Brakes were soft and squeaked constantly. The exhaust system was in need of repair. Beyond being loud, the exhaust fumes came into the cab and made the riders nauseous. While I didn't drive the vehicle at night I did turn on the headlights for safety and noticed a headlight was not working. This equipment was old. Fix it or put it to rest. A poor representation of the brand let alone a bad ride.

It was not clear where to pick up the uhaul. There were plenty of signs and arrows for returns, but I had no idea where to pick up or find the lock boxes until I luckily ran into a worker that was there before they opened. I also was prompted to scan the location barcode, which didn't exist. I could not get past that step without scanning. Luckily, the worker I ran into was able to find my reservation and process everything on his end. Otherwise, I would not have been able to get my truck until they opened.

It smells great inside the storage facility. I was moving my items in and 10pm hit. Half of my items were inside and half were outside. I called the emergency number and they let me in.

The website said a 3 bedroom worth of items could fit into 2 uboxes. I see why they said that, but the dimensions were not in real world measurements. I would love it if you had a disclaimer about some furniture being too long to fit a box. Other than that, great service all around.

The worst experience that I had with renting a truck, 1. I was forced to pay 15 dollar insurance fee saying that it is mandatory only for the location. I have americanexpress which would cover my instance so not sure why as customer I need to be forced 2. when returning the truck, the truck door locked when key were inside, trying to get help from associates to solve this issue was nightmare. Very rude, always looking for extracting money , not polite, .. etc etc

Was Confused about using the app. It states to Check In on the app, and Check out on the app. But you still have to go inside and check in. App needs a lot of work to make rentals alot easier. Long lines and took about 1 hour to check-in. I would like to say the staff was nice and helpful. The outside guys were very helpful connecting the trailer and disconnecting the trailer. Overall positive experience and will use UHAUL again.

Tina was wonderful in accommodating our needs after it seemed that I had booked a storage room but it was only a reservation and not an actual assigned storage room. The original 5x10 storage room that we originally booked also had a large structural pillar on one of the side walls which would have taken up a lot of the required space of the room so we had to move to the larger room which was probably just as well because we had a lot of stuff and didn't want to pile it up on top of each other. All in all it worked out really well for us. The one issue that we did have was that we drove 2145 kilometers from Canada and after we unloaded our trailer we then had to drive the trailer to the middle of downtown Dallas in rush hour traffic to drop it off at a rather unusual location which was very inconvenient considering we thought we would just unload at Plano and drop it off at Plano once we were done with it. At the end of the day it all worked out. Merci.

We had a good 17 months with all our house in storage! Only one issue, when they cancelled all our units thinking we had moved out when we emptied only one! Anna the manger resolved it quickly and retired our account!

Try to up sale to much. Your system is lacking. To greedy. Truck rental is far from descent. Worst experience trying to move, and your storage booking is awful. Even with a paid receipt from you, yall manage to mishandle your filing. I will never recommend or use your company again. Thank you for the added stress of moving and storage.

Automatic payment was set up at the office the first day we checked in obviously the office did not register that's on the computer system I was charged $15 additional fee sent to several email to management regarding these fees told him to call no reply either by email or by phone call after checking out, we let the staff know that we're moving out I had to call again to tell him we moved that nobody made a note of it. There's a complete failure in communication. Please refer to all the emails we sent a general management.

Everytime i went to this facility i had issues. From not being able to get in to the staff placing a lock on my door because i had the incorrect lock but they lost the key to remove their own lock. I rented a truck and a dolly from them but they did not have any dollys and it was a lengthy process in trying to get a refund for the dolly i paid for but they did not have.

Truck needed brakes. Tire blew out and had to wait with tail of truck in incoming traffic. Roadside service said 60 minutes after the 60 minutes I was informed that vendor had cancelled my repair so I had to wait an additional 75 minutes. Missed work!!!!!!TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! Ms. Rita did a great job but I can't understand how they could rent a truck in such ill repair.

I did not go to my unit often. My last visit will be on my mind for a long while. When I came to empty my unit around 11am there no electricity and the power would not be on until 5pm. There was no notification of this outage . This force me to empty my unit in a dark environment with no ac. I will mention my unit was on the second floor. I could not use the carts. I had to carry the boxes myself. I s add m 70 years old. If you think I had any thoughts that was good service think again.

Anna Lewis was an amazing customer service rep. Very knowledgeable and helpful. She was diligent in making my reservation complete and worked with other staff to get the size of storage I wanted. I have always rented trucks, so I was pleased to have her help in navigating the storage area and finding my units. She made sure I had all the right information to access the facility and double-checked that everything was functioning properly. All the while fielding other staff needs and other customers. I felt like a valued customer!

The monthly cost just finally got to me. 2 400 year basically is just too expensive, but just more proof of corporate greed. I saw so many red tagged units as well most likely proving that others also just don't see the value proposition. The staff was friendly so I'm thankful for that.

All was great with the except of the flood from sprinkler incident. We were told our unit may have been impacted. We went to go check with one of Uhaul staff members but lights were out so she used a light on her phone. Then stated all was dry. When we went back recently to move out...all our items had mold growing and water spots all over our surround sound system and electronics. The water spots were left on the ground in put lone of our belongings. :( other wise it was a nice place.

Exception would be of course we had a fire in your building that caused flooding beyond localized area and the hassles and time dealing with that and damages - your insurance co we never heard from even after multiple contacts. Otherwise friendly staff and environment.

The truck people are kind of rude and all looking down on their cell phones so they are oblivious to when there is a problem in the parking lot. They park the truck and go back to their cell phones. So customer has to walk all the way across the lot to get help.

Original pick up was schedualed at 0,8 milea from my house. Then, 1,5 hours be for pick up got a call of they wont have my truck and the closest truck was 45 mins away. You credited me miles, but still had to pay all gas. Plus, its frustrating getting emails every 20 mins. Company went downhill! Nice storage facility tho.

The line at the service counter as always long. The staff doesn't seem to know their own billing system. I had a month free with a rental and they tried to charge me the free monthly fee as well as a late fee. When I checked out, the unit was left clean and the staff asked me to walk back and take pictures causing me to lose my place in line and turn a quick event into an hour ordeal. Do yourself a favor and find a better location.

The facility was great, but the move over was not. Was told I would need to wait 3 hours for roadside assistance when the truck bogged down, had reduced power, and check engine light came on. Drove out of my way to get the OBD checked to see if it was an issue that would cause major issues. Was exhaust related so I had to baby it the rest of the 100 miles. No one should have to wait 3 hours for roadside assistance.

Someone stole my wallet in front of the u-haul facility. I've been waiting for the manager to get back to me, it was supposed to be this morning but I have not heard anything yet.

The Uhaul was good, got me where i needed to be. Upon checking in I was charged for the until that was way too small when the promotion said that it was free. Charged my card $48 twice plus an extra day because the initial until was not ready and too small. Overall the price went from $66 to $300 charging my account 3 times for the same thing promising to reverse the charges but instead charging my account for the same amounts!!! Absolutely ridiculous!

This location was super helpful and had the storage unit I needed. It was easy to get to my unit and I'm happy they had a bunch of pullies to help make the movers move things faster. I like how you have to have a code to get into the building, I just wish it was accessible for 24 hours instead of 5am-10pm but other than that, it's cool.

This is the first time I have ever used U-haul storage. I found the staff friendly and helpful. Moving into my unit I discovered that I needed a second unit and the staff was able to accommodate me. I purchased two locks from U-Haul for my units and each came with two keys. A few weeks later a friend took a set of those keys to remove her items from my units. And she returned the keys to me. When I went to pick up the remaining items in my two units, I discovered that one of the locks would not open and I had to have a lock smith come out to drill out the lock and open the unit. It cost me $308,59 to open that unit. I was upset and I admit I was not very pleasant to the employees at U-Haul. However, the store manager, Leonardo Aguilu Carrion, did refund to me $50 for the "lock mix up". I don't understand why that lock would not open - when it HAD opened earlier. For this reason, I have to rate my experience as "poor".

We had to store the majority of our things after our home flooded. We have had a battle with insurance companies, contractors and attorneys. So it has not been a very enjoyable 17-18 months. The day we moved in we realized the locking panel didn't work. We reported it to the office and they said we could move our items to another unit or we could use a tool like a hammer or screw driver to bang the panel closed every time we wanted to enter. As we had JUST moved in, we told them we wanted them to fix the panel. We left a key to our lock and asked to be called when it was repaired. We never received as call. We went to the office and they had no idea what we were talking about AND our account had been closed. After explaining, they found our key, notes about the unit and had to reinstate the account. Again, we left asking them to repair the locking panel. After that was finally taken care of, the flood occurred in which we lost the only valuable items we had in storage. We decided to move out, only to show up and find a notice that the building was on lockdown until further notice...having been given NO prior notice via email or any other source before clearing our day to move out. Then, comically we were informed that the rents would be increasing. Getting in touch with anyone in the office by phone is impossible. The ONLY time we were able to communicate with anyone was if we emailed "Jordan" directly. Worst experience we've ever had with a storage facility.

There was a fire at your U-Haul storage facility on Sept 11. All of our stuff had damaged. we moved out on the 15th. You still charged us for that month's rent when we were gone. Also you forced us to rent a truck from you for another $200. And nobody has picked up the phone to call me back. Very disappointed in the service

Initially, I would have rated U-haul five stars. But, yesterday, we had to move our belongings from the storage unit due to water damage resulting from a fire in a different unit. As we were removing items from the unit to check for damage, we noticed signs of bed bugs. We have NEVER had bed bugs, so I know they had to come from a different unit. There were other units that had bed bugs as well. Needless to say, we lost a lot of our belongings.

My overall experience was pleasant, however the actual renting of the unit was an ordeal. The unit I reserved on line wasn't available or wasn't listed properly. It took the person assisting me a great deal of time to locate a unit that was similar to the dimensions I reserved. It took over 30 minutes to correct the problem.

Access was so difficult. The trolley is too small and the walk too long, when carrying heavy stuff and moving a whole house it would be a relief to not have to do it in tiny bits and in many runs to the storage. It also not clean and your mattress would be dirty .

The staff did not explain that a 10x15 is actually 2 units & I was mis-informed about a discount that was not given to me. On 1 of the units, the staff couldn't even open the door because it wasn't working properly. Asked staff to get it fixed before we use it. On the 5x10, the door stuck & my husband had to crawl under the door to open it, so it could shut properly. Then there was water in 2 different hallways from the leaky roof. Not a good situation at all & very disappointing, since this is one of the largest U-haul facilities near by. Also ramps are too small & inconvenient. Definitely will not use their storage units again.

The storage unit I requested was not the same as I requested. There was a huge floor length cylinder that took up valuable space. I couldn't even put the amount I needed to (as I legit measured) and had to store stuff in my (new) apartment storage area. Why are you advertising it at a certain measurement if you're not going to uphold it.

When I initially got set up with this storage unit, I thought I was set up on auto-debit but was not. Got charged a late fee and was to be refunded the $15 late fee. It never happened, I spent a good month trying to connect with someone and never got any response. No reply to my emails from the manager of the location, calls to the Director of Ops routed from the helpdesk. Sad experience from a big company like UHaul. I just want my $15 refunded as promised for setting up auto-debit!

I was doing a quick move and needed short term storage. We were able to take advantage of the free month of storage in order to put some items in a staging area while doing a move. It worked out extremely well for our needs. If I were to have paid for the unit I found the pricing high relative to other storage options in the area but it met our needs.

Storage Manager consistently attempted to up-sale the transaction. Repeatedly tried to enforce policies without proof. She added insurance and a padlock without my acknowledgment. When I questioned it, she stated it was policy in order to get the FREE month of storage but was unable to provide said proof. She was very rude. My unit is clear across the building away from elevator access. I walk pass dozens of empty "Customer Ready" units. Not sure if my unit was chosen for office convenience or In spite of my complaints.

There is a lot of storage units to pick from much cheaper, However if I did not have billing issues it was clean and something I would have recommended. I have confirmed with emails And pictures Uploaded I moved out with notice month ago and still got a bill with late fee unable to get thru to the person whom sent the letter not work in Plano I'm told. I physically went to Plano manager aware I was there to talk but ever made it to front and the GM whom I left detailed message two times has yet to call me back

When I signed up and paid for my storage unit, the sales associate never told me I needed an access code or gave me an access card. Therefore, when we showed up at 9p with a truckload to put in the Unit, we were not able to get in! I had hired movers to help, so now have to pay them again to come a second time. This is inexcusable incompetence on the part of the sales associate and was not a good start to using your facility, not does it make me confident I chose the best facility.

I cleaned my unit out 2 days before my rent was due. I called the 24th and 25th to cancel my account. I was on hold for 30 minutes each time and no one ever answered. I then received a call from someone at UHaul saying that they noticed my unit was empty. They wanted to confirm that I had moved out and no longer needed the unit. I confirmed. I then received a late notice that I owe for the monthly rent PLUS a late fee. I am not paying this. My account needs to be resolved. I tried to call again, but again, no one answered for over 20 minutes.

The clerk at West McKinney location told me Plano location would have a 10 x 20 climate control space, when I arrived they were told no "they do not have a 10x 20 space so I had to take 2 10 x 10 spaces, therefore had to buy 2 locks instead of 1. The charges for 2 spaces were more than for 1 10 x 20 unit. They should have honored the price for a 10 x 20 unit. Originally the truck and trailer would have to be returned to the West McKinney location, very inconvenient, but after speaking another with attendant, Anna, said that "no" I do not have to West McKinney location. She was the most helpful and professional in all the attendants I was in contact during this 2 day ordeal. It was a nightmare during the West McKinney location and would never go back there. Anna, at the Plano location would highly recommend her for future promotions.

I came back to the facility after hours with my trailer that i rented to unload my stuff into my storage unit and neither the card or access code would allow me entry into the building. The lady who checked us out said they have been having issues with the alarm in the building but never mentioned not being able to open the door once office hours where over. I always choose this location it's my favorite. They are always friendly and helpful. The truck was somewhat dirty, but I already prepared to wipe it down with wipes and the wipes were very dirty steering wheel and drivers seat. I also wore gloves to ensure safety with the virus I think the trucks need to be wiped down on the inside for safety. The signal light did not work and the truck needed an alignment. Did not discover until I had gotten on the highway and had a timeline to get to my destination or I would have returned. I reported These concerns upon return. Might want to check the truck out more thoroughly prior to rentals. The storage unit was also dirty. However, the staff member was so nice and did sweep it out and apologized for it being dirty.

Had a few issues. Biggest I had was that I set up auto pay, and TWICE I got nasty notices in the mail saying I had missed my payment and threatened with lockout. I set up auto pay when I first got the unit, again after the first error, and AGAIN after the 2nd error. So 3rd time was the charm I guess. Also got the feeling the staff was quite nosey. Almost everytime I went to my unit a staff member showed up. My unit was on the 2nd floor, and one time I went to drop off some heavy furniture. Elevator wasnt working so I called the front office. The guy was pretty rude and said "you can use the stairs". Try moving a large recliner up those stairs by yourself. Likely wont use them again should I ever need to.
