Not all information provided for the rental, including the fact they lock gates and I needed a gate code to enter and return the truck after office hours. The truck was run down, alignment was off. Overall it got the job done but I can't say this experience was great. It was… ok.

Truck had 182k miles, steering wheel had excess movement and the brakes went to the floor. I was initially charged for 2 dollys I never received. Was charged for gas even though I brought it to its original level.

Kenneth the desk representative inside the store was disgruntled and grumpy when picking up the uhaul. Making comments about a million dollar company can't afford good internet. Just seemed inappropriate. Also the uhaul I recieved had the front bumper pulled out quite a bit. Stated there was 3/8 of a tank of fuel when in reality it was one "tick" above a 1/4. When returning the uhaul, I apparently pulled in the wrong way and got reprimanded by the guy who checks the uhauls back in, stating I pulled in the wrong way. I went inside and was again greeted by Mr. Personality himself, Kenneth, and asked if there was anything else I needed to do. Kenneth rudely stated "they handle everything outside" so I left. Will not use this location again.

My only non issue is no night drop off.. rented a truck with hopes to have back after 5 but with no night drop I had to rush to get back by 5.. Other wise best experience with a uHual rental yet

We were so pleased with the dealership and service that I tried to change the pickup location of a future reserved unit to Northport U-Haul. Unfortunately the U-Haul website nearly doubled the cost of the rental rate when I tried to do so.

If anything would improve the times takes to get paperwork signed (but that's a little issue). Did everything on line with credit card still had to wait for all the paperwork. Getting the trailer rental was a very easy. Rented a few times never have had a problems picking up the trailer once the paperwork was completed. People at the counter very helpful.

Guy was very impersonal . I said hello and said how can I help you. I asked him if he needed my paperwork he said no. Asked me key was in truck. I said yes. Couldn't move into space bc the measurements provided online were incorrect. The space was 10 ft wide inside but not the opening itself. The opening is only about 8 ft and therefore my things wouldn't fit. That wasn't a problem though, they were quick to refund me without issue. The facility, however, had broken locks throughout, some units looked as if they had previous attempted break ins, and the U-Haul trucks were blocking half of the aisles so it was impossible to drive to your unit. To add insult to injury, someone stole my phone off of the bumper of my truck right before my eyes. The only people around were two employees and one family moving into a unit. When I realized it was stolen, the one employee tried to help by attempting to call the number to no avail. I had to contact Verizon where they were able to track my iPhone, hours later, to a location in Port Charlotte, VERY close to the facility. This place is a dump and it's very run down. I ended up finding a facility in Venice that was much cheaper with better security and a much better overall appearance. I will be sure to tell everyone I know to steer clear of this place.

I stored my things in this storage unit for 7 months and then moved them out and found mice droppings and urine on all my boxes. Don't store your things anywhere near this place unless you want mice to have free rain with your things!!!

Except for one guy there was three guys behind the counter one guy just sat there and kept his shirt over his face like something stunk I'm not sure if he didn't like the way I smelled or the way the whole place smelled or he was just you know didn't want to throw a mask on but he acted a little disconcerting the other two guys were really nice though

The place was filthy , used it for almost 5 years out of necessity. Staff was incredibly rude and only five of their security cameras were actually hooked up. Oddly enough only the ones that target the office as if nobody else is possessions are important only the office. The security fence that was supposed to have been put up at the initial signing never went off and that's about five years to possible completion , it was only after noticing multiple units that were seemingly broken into with a crowbar or something that we really thought it wise to get our things out. My recommendation is the place to be shut down and remodeled into something useful… like a dentist office that specializes in root canals with no painkiller…

Many times my unit was blocked by trailers stored in front of it! Staff did nothing to resolve on several occasions. Had to park and walk a longer distance from unit many times. This inconvenience made it impossible to load or unload sometimes. Some items were just too heavy to carry a long distance.

Neighbor moved in smoke filled stuff and all of my things were contaminated.

A leak developed above our storage unit after Hurricane Ian. I removed a few damaged items. The management's solution was to put a tarp above our unit. When it rained I could hear rain dripping on the tarp and see a puddle accumulating on it. Whenever I went in to the office to check on the status of the roof repair or the availability of another unit, there was always someone new at the front desk who was unaware that there was a problem. There's a big turnover in employees. One time when I went to our unit, I saw someone moving out of a unit. I went in to the office to inquire about the possibility of moving in to that space. The employee had no idea how to put my name on a wait list nor was he willing to take my phone number or write a note to give to the manager. We have left U-Haul and moved into another storage unit in North Port where we have responsible management that responds to our needs. And, we do not have a leaky roof!

The facilities are very crammed together. Trucks, trailers, RV's etc are constantly parked along the roadway between all the buildings and thus our personal unit. We could barely squeeze thru just to get to our unit and then had to back out and turn around to get out.......not an easy thing to do when pulling a trailer. Very inconvenient setup. Would not recommend this place.

employees at north port location are mostly rude and all complain about being too busy and are tired , overworked and have sudden fits of anger when you ask them to honor the promotions I signed up for online( free day with previous reservation of trailer/ truck. yell at you in front of everybody and say "thats not how we do things here and we are not going to honor it if you simply have a reservation for abtrailer/truck and get a free month because you could cancel the reservation. that the only way was to have signed a contract today for a truck trailer to get the offer. oh and sorry you cant sign a contract for that trailer because we dont have it in stock. yelling at me the whole time. (This was a CSR named Kody allen) so i called uhaul online when i got home and spoke to operator and she called the store and spoke to RICHARD Perrin (Gen manager) and she said he was suppoed to call me today but is mid afternoon and i didnt receive the call and its almost 3pm. Also when i got to my unit today there were 2 uhaul moving trucks parkd in front of my door(drive up access) and i had to ask the front desk if they could move them ( she only moved one and i was still blocked by the front end of the second truck still no drive up access. and then i ask them about the gate code and hours and they inform me that the security gate is broken and that i( or anyone) can drive in 24 hours a day!!! i do not feel very secure with my belongings in this facility, so far everything stinks.

There are too many trucks and trailers at the facility. You can barely drive in and park then when you park ypu have to move bc ppl only have 1 way in and out all the isles are full non stop The staff is helpful, great service just too crowded I would come back if it wasn't so crowded

The facility was not well organized, trailers and trucks surround the storage units to the point staff had to move them or we did to get out and for other customers the staff had to move a truck that was infront of there unit. I purchased insurance and a look from the staff on the start date of my rental, the staff member did not inform me the lock i had chosen would not comply with my insurance coverage until about 3 weeks later. Upon arrival the storage unit i had reserved and which was available online was not available and i had to purchase a bigger unit at a higher cost then i had wished to spend. The staff did remind me to get my lock but that was the extent of the useful service I felt was provided.

This is a busy facility and have limited space to store the extra vehicles during peak times. Navigating to and from you storage unit can be a challenge at times. Employees are hard working, friendly and eager to help. Merci.

We reserved a space 10x20 from out of state two months in advance. When we arrived, you didn't have such a space available. Best you could do was two 10 x 10 spaces far apart for more money!! The latches on the storage units were crap and broken. The storage lot is so full of rental trailers and trucks you can't even get close to your storage locker. What a disaster this place is. We couldn't get our truck or trailer close to the storage we overpaid for. NO! I would never suggest anyone EVER deal with your facility. For the prices you charge.... clean up the yard!!

Jeffrey was generally unpleasant to interact with. There is almost never someone at the location to speak with over the phone. The call center tries their best to answer questions but without knowledge of the exact location it never pans out. Will not be returning.

Staff was rude and inconsiderate. Blocked our unit with trailers along with trucks which made it hard to access our unit. Automatic payment setup did not work for over 6 months causing a fault in my contract and staff didn't notify me pertaining the issue from June all the way till the middle of November.... 6 MONTHS!!!!! THEN GAVE ME A HARD TIME when I wanted to get me stuff and move it to one of my other three units I have elsewhere. I will never use Uhaul company or recommend them to friends or family. A little tough to get someone to answer the phone

Late fees are outrageous. Not calling customer to inquire about payment that did not go through on auto-drafts before charging a late fee. Calling customers saying items are going up for auction if account is not brought current when the reason the balance is so high is because of fees.

Had to throw away quite a bit of things due to mold and mouse:rat droppings and things being chewed threw and chewed on. Dirt and grim all over everything, the storage units do not seal good when the door is shut. Rodents are bad and I'm assuming the place does not control pest and rodents up to par. We won't ever use a uhaul storage unit like this again

When my husband arrived to pick up or truck and locate our until we were told that there was no unit for us and could not find our contract number despite U-Haul taking our money for the unit. The whole thing was a nightmare and never got resolved.

No process was really great. I thought it was going to be much more difficult. The North Port U-Haul storage center was extremely busy, and they had a lot of vehicles and trailers so much so that at one point I was almost unable to get to my storage unit. I was able to get to the unit, by driving slowly and watching my mirrors. This is not a bad thing but it does say that they need more land and storage space for their vehicles and trailers. Overall I'm very happy with the experience. And I will be using this same service in the future if needed.

my only negative is I wish there was another exit /entrance for the back and/or that the lanes were bigger or basically not blocked all the time by either Uhall trucks and trailers or other people using their units. it was sometimes impossible to get to my unit and i only went there maybe 6 times in the 2 years i had the unit. I had another unit at this location before, it was right by the return area and even though it was up front i still had issues getting to it because there was a returned Uhaul truck there. other than that, all good.

Everything was perfect except one thing, it was really congested with trucks and trailers. Given the layout of the facility, and the volume of business you do, I don't know how it could be easily fixed. It did feel like you were doing your best, and your people were over the top courteous and willing to help. You have a great group of people working there. We had a confirmed reservation (Reservation #:830027-00107295) for a 10 x 20 unit. The reservation was made almost a month in advance for a cross country move. When we arrived we were casually told there was no 10 x 20 units available as if it was no problem! The best they could do was 2 - 10 x 10 separate units. And to add insult to injury we are now going to be charged $129,99 a month for each ($259,98 total) rather than the $179,99 for the same amount of space. But standing at the counter with a full truck and movers on the way, what choice did we have? Doesn't seem fair we pay more every month for inconvenient, separated, spaces due to U-Haul not being able to honor their commitment. Felt like a classic Bait and Switch.

The parking lot for that particular location is horrible. They store/park too many vehicles there and you can't maneuver a large truck around there easily. I always felt like I was going to either hit my truck or one of their buildings. It would have been easier if they didn't store so many in front of peoples storage units. There were many times that we had to go to the office to have them move their vehicles to be able to get into our storage unit.

This was the first time that I had a bad experience with a uhaul storage unit. This place from the get go looks very old and run down, the only reason I didn't turn around and leave first thing is cause I already booked it before ever seeing the place and I had first month free. I purchased climate controled so my things would stay in good condition but this was the worst version of climate control I've dealt with, every time I visited the unit didn't feel very cool at all and after a few months I see that my things are molding. I've never had a climate controlled unit mold my belongings before so I left this bad experience of a storage unit and as I was checking out, I find it that the AC for my unit building was broke for some time and that they finally fixed it. It would have been really nice for whom ever runs this location to let the people who have units know that they are having problems so that they can decide whether they want to change units or move out so things don't get bad but instead nothing war said and now I'm sorting through things with mold on them cause of their greed I'm guessing on not wanting to lose business. It's not your personal belongings so you don't care I guess.

For being the only UHaul storage unit in the area, it's very dirty. Had to clean my own unit out with a broom and leaf blower. Dead cockroaches inside. It just seems like employees are lazy when it comes to cleaning.

The staff members were excellent from the jump. One gentlemen, perhaps the manager, wasn't all that great, however, I upon my departure of renting two storage units, renting two one-way trucks and a trailer, I met the regional manger, "Bravo," whom was excellent. I wish I would have had the opportunity to work with Bravo from the beginning. Everyone needs a good wingman and Bravo went over and beyond to accommodate my last requests before departing. Overall, thank you to the UHaul Crew at North Port, FL.

My unit was regularly blocked by other tenants. The facility is over run with trucks making it difficult to enter or exit. The staff watched me struggle to move out and then tried to charge me fees. The manger needs a lesson on privacy as I did not need to learn about others evocation process.

The storage was fine, it's the part that when I moved out before the end of my month that they said I would not get a refund of over half the month that I was upset. What place would not give back your money when you are no longer using their service? I just think this is an unfair practice. I busted my butt to get my unit cleared thinking I would get most of my money back only to hear we don't prorate.
