We returned the truck to the lot, Dakota checked the engine with his tools and said it was a Co2 problem and was because of the cold and warm weather. He said we would be fine driving the truck. I stated that we wanted another truck, as I have had issues in the past, being broke down on the side of the hwy and didn't want that to happen again. So, he gave us a different truck, but also stated that the problem would probably happen again, due to the weather fluctuations. Fortunately, we did not have any more problems. BEN SThe local U-Haul facility personnel at each phase did well and were very helpful. The following response reflects on and is directed toward U-Haul Operations and Executive Management, who appear to either be ill-informed or wholly inadequate ("feckless" is the term that comes to mind). Our relocation necessitated renting an auto-trailer and a 26' truck, equipment that had been (with a limited) "guarantee" to be at one of our three local U-Haul locations (any of which would be within 15 miles of our home). Just prior to picking up the auto-trailer, I had received a call that I would instead need to drive an additional 88 miles roundtrip to another city to pick up the equipment (an additional hour and 40 minutes of travel time, given mountainous terrain). When I had scheduled picking up the 26-foot truck well in advance (locally), I had been later informed that I would need to recover the vehicle from yet another location that was an additional 154 miles round trip to yet another city (adding another three hours and 34 minutes round trip to my driving time due to regional geography). When I earlier requested the drop-off location in our new state, I did so based on U-Haul's system requesting (green highlighted font) that I take the equipment to a specific site north of our new city, apparently due to the need for that type of equipment at that location. Enroute to our new city I receive a phone call from U-Haul Operations telling me that the location had an overage and that I had to take the moving van to one of two locations 88 miles further (and nearly two hours longer drive) than the location U-Haul had just a week previously wanted me to deliver the equipment. When I delivered the equipment at the required location, the attendant there informed me that U-Haul's system had also added the mileage (fee) I had to drive based on U-Haul's requirement to my bill for that extended travel! In addition, my spouse had to drive to those other locations to drop me off and pick me up. The stress of the move is placed entirely at the foot of U-Haul Operations and its "leadership." I frankly cannot picture myself ever using U-Haul again, nor recommending U-Haul to another person.

The vehicle was clean, well maintained and operated flawlessly. The staff were kind and professional. I would recommend this location.
Paul MThis store should be the gold standard that all other stores aspire to be like. ALL the staff is friendly and competent. They explain things clearly. The office is clean and attractive . You can easily see all the merchandise. They open early so trailers and trucks can be picked up and loaded in time to hit the road early. . The 24 access to storage is handy if you're moving items after work and the whole storage area is well lit for late delivers. We had moving nightmare- our movers didn't show, but Brad and Josh went above and beyond giving us 2 free days to accommodate our finding a new mover to load our truck. Although our relationship with this U-Haul store was brief, we enjoyed every interaction. We have recommended to all our friends.

I don't necessarily believe that it is a specific location issue, but for instance, this location has the equipment return entrance off of a side street and had the entire return lane full with multiple short box trucks. When I brought my 26' truck to return, I had to navigate out of the storage section and back out of the facility to the front entrance. The parking area and return area don't leave enough light or space to take pictures appropriately enough.

Both indoor and outdoor access storage seem to have a lot of insects to deal with. I removed and did not store certain items because of the bugs. The restroom was hit and miss. Thank you for having one, but it was occasionally dirty, missing items, or non-functional. When i altered the staff they remidied it immediately but our experience was such that my spouse would not use it.

When we visited yesterday to make sure we would get the 2nd month free they were able to confirm that it was due to us but because the storage 1st month was to be up on the 26th they started the 2nd month on the 24th and said our next month rent was due the 24th. Michael PI have always had good experiences renting with U-Haul but yesterday's rental went above and beyond. My son and I had just finished loading up his apartment's contents and as I got on the road to head to the next town over, the check engine light came on. I drove back into the U-Haul site (fortunately it was close by) where the truck was promptly checked out and it was determined that I couldn't safely proceed in that vehicle. Not the best moment, but your two U-Haul reps worked quickly to move everything to a new truck and I was back on the road in record time! Unfortunately, I didn't catch their names but it was Wednesday, July 19th at the Sierra Vista, AZ location on Hwy. 92. I would like to thank both of them for their hard work on my behalf and for making the whole thing as easy as possible! It was a lot of extra work for them and it was hot yesterday so they could have been unpleasant about it but they were both professional, friendly, and positive. I will definitely recommend this location to others and won't hesitate to go there again myself for any future rental needs!

Yes, the place is clean, and no the roof doesn't leak like other storage units I'd rented before. Overall, I was satisfied. However, the reason I left U-Haul is that their storage units are very expensive in my opinion, and when the insulation in the roof started to fall, no one called me to set up a time to fix it.

When we get there and ask about this during check out we were told that the location does not do the one month free and that it was only at select locations. That was not what I was told when I booked the reservation. I feel like I got cheated out of 1 month free. In addition to this, the guy helping us had issues charging the card on file so we ended up having to use a different form of payment (which was not planned for) to pay for the first month, which once again should have been free in the first place. My experiences with U-Haul have otherwise been great, so that's why I rated three stars instead of one.

I don't know what happened but I got notified that my payment was past due. So I had to pay that plus a late fee. This happened quite a few times. I don't know if I ever got reimbursed for late charges. Everytime I spoke to someone about it I got a different answer. Yes you'll get a refund or no you won't. Once they realize that a staff member was late on the move-in day and we went through a lot with the other facility - they gave us the last storage spot (a second one) free also for the introductory month. all the above was true too plus checkout was easy and fast - we just had some dead Arizona bugs to pick up on our way out (moved my Mom into her apartment that wasn't ready in time upon arrival here with all her stuff. :) Thanks again for getting us through a messy move. (we even had a Uhaul tire pop hours after leaving Olympia WA to get to this facility, so a rough go, but made it. :)

He also said I could drop my rental trailer at this facility. Neither was true. There was not a 10X15 unit available, causing me to rent a 10X20 unit. More money. Also, i had to go to the Frye Rd facility to drop the trailer. Imagine my displeasure. Chris, the Hwy 92 manager. Was as professional and helpful as possible, but I was unhappy with the untruths told to me by customer service. Unit I reserved was unavailable, cost went up for unit. Cannot drop trailer at the facility, take it to another facility. More time and inconvenient. Micheal from Uhaul customer service could use more training, to help him be successful in his job. A happy customer, is a repeat customer.

Then there is little grace period if you can't pay exactly on the due date if you are paying online. Late payment charges are applied after only a few days. It would be helpful if offering an online payment option to load the amount due at the same time the payment due reminder email is sent so there is an early payment option. The online convenience option is minimized as a useful tool.
