I was, genuinely, surprised (in a good way). The people at the location were pleasant, helpful, and flexible. The equipment was easy to use. The self drop off through the app went off without a hitch. The website/app has some excellent software engineers behind it. Truly- great job. I was annoyed by the one way price taking a U-Haul out of Chicago but it honestly was worth it in the end. Great job U-Haul

It would have been very helpful for the agent to inform me that I would have to check my texts and use the sent link to validate my rental. I was under the impression that getting a contract and talking to the agent was enough, and there was confusion until the manager was involved. Things got a bit tense unnecessarily due to misunderstandings that could have been avoided with clearer communication. Also, additional items I ordered from the web were not reflected in my contract, and I had to ask for the ones that were. Overall it worked out OK but could have been better for everyone.

The app was awful. 20 minutes of inputting data and uploading photos only having to check in at the desk anyway. Plates did not match-could not change on the app. Mileage did not match-could not update on the app. The employees at the Broadway location are the only reason this transaction worked. They were lovely.

I will never again use the app to schedule rental! Up-Town Uhaul saved the day, after the reservation I'd made and confirmed through the app (weeks ago!) had suddenly disappeared when we went to pick it up... despite email notifications that the order was confirmed the day before! The pick up location was a gas station, where employees have no affiliation or knowledge about you Uhaul order and can offer no help. We called Uhaul cust serv, and were put on hold for 30 min...the same amount of time it took us to drive to the Up-Town location. Customer service answered as we were walking in the door. Lesson learned, technology failed (in the hands of a company that didn't seem to know how to manage it correctly) real human beings FTW!

Our experience started off a little stressful. We first reserved a trailer from Chicago Avondale (758028) and the folks there were great- however after getting my Jeep hooked up, the break and turning lights on the trailer didn't work so they had to find another location for us to go to. The employees at 4055 N Broadway were efficient and we left with a trailer and had no issues.

I got charged a $30 safemove fee that I had originally waived. I filled the gas to 3/4 of a tank, like I had received it. I still got charged a fee for gas. It was a hassle to pick up my rental bc my rental was not ready when I arrived. It was blocked in. So I had to switch rentals and when I did this the agent added on safemove to my bill causing a different amount due. I notified them right away and they couldn't do anything about it and made it seem like it was my fault. If it was my fault then why was my original rental $30 cheaper when I went through the checkin process? Then when you change my vehicle there is a $30 increase to my bill that I hadn't checked in yet. The pick up process is suppose to be quick, expect it to take an hour. U-haul is the worst to do business with. I wish there was a competitor nearby bc I would use them over uhaul anyway. Always an issue with business that I do with this company.

Reserved a cargo van for a 6am pickup using the mobile app. After several phone calls and waiting on hold for a half hour was finally told by an employee who was arriving to open the location that they don't do cargo vans for 24hr pickup. This caused me to be very late and was very frustrating. Please don't allow online reservations if the equipment isn't actually available.

The location and staff at the location were amazing! I have used this location twice in the past few months. Staff is great. First time I picked up while the staff was still there. Very smooth process. The picking up my rental using the app was horrible the 2nd time.

I went to my vehicle and was on the phone with the movers as I was inspecting the vehicle. I didn't even get a chance to check the mileage when your employee told me to get out of the way because another customer's vehicle was behind mine. I told him I was on the phone and he said, get the fuck out of the way. I told him to fuck off. I immediately drove off without having a seatbelt and without having finished my inspection. I called the store to let them know what happened and I said that in the employee's defense, he didn't know that I had just gotten into my truck. However, he still acted poorly. Then today I see the final receipt and the total bill is $184 for the rental of a 15 foot truck for a few hours? I am very dissapointed.

My file was flagged from the last time I used uhaul and had to call a number to have the issue corrected. Had to wait almost half an hour for a call back. Didn't have any unpaid fees. Was told it was flagged because I parked the return vehicle in the wrong location last time I rented. 

Assigned vehicles should be clear to move out of your lot. Customer should not be assigned a new vehicle just because staff does not want to back up 1 vehicle to allow assigned vehicle to exit. Customer should not be told by staff that he or she can either accept new vehicle assignment or cancel the order all together. In my experience, after checking out the first vehicle, that was blocked in. I found the second vehicle assigned, was also blocked in. So, I had to find an outside staff members help to allow exit, to avoid a third vehicle assignment. The second vehicle had dirty side view mirrors and low tire pressure in the right front. My rating reflects your service.

I did notice that the tires didn't have caps on the tube for adding air so I lost some air during the time I had the vehicle but was able to add air and and worked fine. I would make sure there are caps on all of the tire tubes the next time. Also, the check door light came on when it had no load but it was fine when the vehicle was under load. I did make sure that I locked all doors as I was driving to ensure that the doors didn't come open in case of abrupt stopping. All-in-all the vehicle was great. Comfortable ride.

The staff here is fantastic, in my experiences they have always been helpful and kind. This location is usually pretty busy, so if you come in with that understanding and show patience, the staff will gladly help you as soon as they can.

This was the best truck rental experience I have ever had! The staff was genuinely nice and helpful. I realized later in the day after I dropped off the truck, that I had left my cell phone in the truck. I was able to go back to the location and they helped me search the truck and we found it. Regardless of my mishap, I was shocked how great this location was and the level of service (having had recent bad experiences with Budget trucks). I'm recommending this place to everyone!

Might want to paint new lines in the parking lot and label them with signs. They said my truck was in "line D" but it took me a little while to find where that truck was. Otherwise, a successful rental.

The key card for getting into the storage units takes 3 to 5 swipes every time and there's a delay so that's a little frustrating and the first floor units. Every time you walk into the unit you hit your head on a bar and the closing gate because it's way too low to move merchandise into. And also the fact that the price kept increasing was mostly the reason for me moving out. But I did have a good experience when I rented the unit and I will be renting trucks from you guys in the next few months. Merci.

Ms. Lee went above and beyond to ensure I was aware of the intricacies within the policy while also being emotionally present with me. For example, I was very stressed and aggravated with a nearby public storage unit. In addition to the service, she shared her sense of calm and was present with other customers who dropped in, while also remembering the specifics of my unique inquiries. Her leadership and professionalism during various inquiries and challenges experienced on my part, as well as what I observed from other customers was superb and she should be affirmed with a raise given it seemed like a one staff show --given her leadership with managing various inquiries and with ease on site.

The entire setup of this storage facility is ridiculous. I would have chosen a different place if I would have known this was not setup like a traditional storage unit.

Do not rent a storage locker here! The lockers are made of plywood and in terrible condition with rat boxes inside each one. You will NEVER be able to drive your car in for access to your locker because they always have the entrance blocked with trucks. The ancient latch on the door was damaged so I couldn't get my lock open and the mgr, Rodney Smith, left me sitting in the locker area for 30 mins while he hung out with buddies at the ends the lot and then when he finally came, said it was my fault for renting the locker if it didn't work (how was I supposed to know??), then said it was my lock. The lock THEY provide you for paying $110 for a small, 4x8x4 crappy locker. He was horrible and rude! I do have to say though, that the other employees at the desk were all very nice and helpful. I would never rent here again nor even rent a truck after this experience!

My only issue was access after hours uhaul dropped the ball when it comes to pass key code and access. It was never made clear that after hours you need to enter the code on one pad then re enter it on another. On the wall above the keypad is a sign that reads you need a swipe card after hours. It's my opinion that there needs to be clear instructions on acces using key pad after hours. I had called you hall after hours because I ordered a unit at church street new bed mass location on line. And I new I wouldn't get there before they closed. I did get a pass code then couldn't get in simply because the sign read you need a swipe card after hours and the rep we talked to on the phone never mentioned that we had to enter the code on 1 pad 1st then the other so my belongings had to stay loaded on the trucks until the morning. Once there the workers explained that all we needed to do was enter code on each pad. That would have been great but the sign never said that. It says you need a swipe card for after hours access.

Your storage unit closed super early leaving me stranded with your vehicle. I had to park somewhere discreet overnight with ALL my belongings because you prematurely closed the storage gate. It was a total disaster. I was dehydrated, exhuasted and vulnerable. Thank you for giving me such a traumatic experience. I will not be doing business with you again. Your business is a complete disaster and the customer service at this facility was God-awful too. Everything about your services screams "ghetto". I won't be doing business with you ever again and I never used the storage. I found a better and cleaner alternative.

I tried accessing the facilities during the access hours. The doors were locked before 10pm and could not access my storage unit. I was left stranded with your vehicle overnight with all my belongings at risk of being stolen. I was not the only one having issues last night. When I arrived to my storage there were many disgruntled uhaul renters that could not get to their vehicles. This has been an extremely terrible experience and I am going to cancel my storage subscription for a a company that actually values their customers and their time. This has been an awful experience. This online check in system you have is extremely disorganized. I am not sure I'll be doing business with you ever again after this experience.

I have been a long-term customer and have never had any problems with the staff at any of the locations that I have used. I've only had one bad experience with an ignorant representative over the phone but a staff member at Uhaul Uptown rectified that situation. I only wish the truck rental prices in total were lower.

The people who work here are an absolute nightmare and I can't believe no one has punched anyone here in the face for how they behave. They said the storage room is open till 10 pm every night and yet EVERY SINGLE TIME I came after 5:30 the doors wouldn't open with my code and when I called help support they just kept me on the line and couldn't figure out who to call I will never use uhaul again.

The bald guy at the desk had an angry reaction to someone and slammed his hand on the desk in front of a long line of customers.

I called earlier in the morning for confirmation of my unit's reservation. They told me it was reserved but I couldn't move in. Thus I thought to cancel. After booking a reservation with another storage provider, I get a call saying the reservation with the UHaul unit was actually confirmed, and I could have moved in the prior day. Shows that there's terrible communication between the staff and poor understanding of the booking/reservation system in that respect. Furthermore, the Uhaul staff confused my move in date of 7/29 to 7/27, which is not what I wanted. I thus now have to pay for two days (7/28 and 7/27) where I am paying but can't use the storage because I am not yet in town. Pretty subpar experience.

Staff was playing around with each other as I waited. The lady in charge of storage was crude and belching. The unit I requested online was not available so now I have to pay more for my unit.

There was a groundsman named Jay. He received and cleaned the trucks but he also floated in and out of the main store area. He was the epitome of customer service and kindness. There were times I felt disregarded but his kindness and constant communication made it all better. He should be trained to work inside directly with customers. Thank you Jay!

This particular location needs to be reviewed. The automatic doors don't work - they need electrician to fix. The staff are not welcoming at all. They are actually the opposite of welcoming. The place isn't well maintained. It does the brand a disservice. One lady eventually warmed up and was nice. But they initially told me my reservation wouldn't be available. I had to ask to see if before they realized it was available

The free month was amazing. I had to move in kind of a hurry, so it was nice to be able to toss some things away to worry about later. I had some unexpected time off of work and was able to go in. A sort through my things. 10/10 experience :)

When selecting my unit online the image of the space I purchased showed two Mattresses and an exercise bike and boxes. The space was big enough for these items however the door to access that storage room was too small to fit anything through?? Had to leave my mattresses sitting out because we were there after hours after traveling all day. Very misleading image you should fix that probably

I'm a value customer... I used U-Haul services as much as I need too. I also. Love all the items you have provided for the customers ; to make our service better. Clean facility , The washrooms, U-Haul bag , U-Haul car charger, U-Haul. Locks, ect. I appreciate the. Respect. That U-Haul workers have for one another , and how well they work together to service all of the customers. When I leave after they service me; I can tell they're. Working hard and Doing they're Best. The Best customer service experience ever. Moving is Hard enough.. You can tell the Uhaul workers... I appreciate the service , I appreciate the kindness

The overall move-in experience has been great. Reserving online was a breeze and the storage unit was ready to go when I arrived at the facility. My storage unit has a few spider webs and a rusty hole in the ceiling but doesn't look like anything is leaking through it so it doesn't bother me that much. I would recommend this storage facility to a friend/family.

I had a really great experience renting a storage unit. I wanted to see a unit before I signed up and the staff was so friendly and took the time to answer all of my questions. They let me know about deals that I wasn't aware of and made sure I got everything I needed. Excellent service à la clientèle.

Horrible Rat infestation!! The rats left their poop & food all over unit #225. Not only was this disgusting but the rats ruined an Ethan Allen chair & got into my boxes leaving poop everywhere!! Numerous requests to address this problem were ignored!! Calls & emails weren't returned. And upon my checkout I found out THAT NO NOTES WERE MADE of my complaints. This Rasheed should be fired!! I'm filing a claim against Uhaul for physical damage to my things & will seek emotional damages as well!! FURTHER, there have been homeless people hanging out at the entrance to this facility for YEARS!!!

There were rat droppings in my unit. I had to throw some stuff away due to it. The staff was helpful and friendly. I just think things should be done to help with rodents.

The woman who worked with us at the front desk was outstanding! Very friendly, had a wonderful personality. She went through everything we needed to know about our storage unit. UHaul should give her a raise!! Her name is MICACLA BAUTISTA. UHaul is very lucky to have this young lady as an employee.

I used a storage unit for two months and when I came to empty it out a I found out I had a few rats in my unit that used the bathroom and chewed on my stuff. I do have a picture of the droppings and

There were rat droppings all over my bins inside of my unit. Broken glass outside of my unit and the hallways smelt of pee. A group of men were constantly outside of the entrance, I never felt safe.

Storage locker was too small, and also damaged (a deep trough in the floor caused me to trip several times, damaging my furniture).
