MICHAEL J | Expérience généraleFor the most part I never had any complaints about Uhaul Storage Facilities. But upon me falling behind in my rental payments and having my unit placed on the auction list, many items were stolen from my unit. It's not right nor was it fare to my children. Brand new coats and clothing items of my children, as well as some electronics were taken when my lock was cut off of the unit. I've taken the stolen items as a lost. When I wasn't able to pay the full amount I owed, I was given the option to settle the balance by paying half the price owed, and moving all my items out within 24 hours. Instead of charging me the full half amount that I should've paid, I was given a $40 discount. Prior to agreeing to settle my account balance Inowed $679.50. Half of that is $339.75. I was only charged $400.00. So I thought that that was a bit odd, since I had previously asked if there was anything that management would've been able to do to give me another week to come up with the full amount because I really still needed the storage room space. Upon entering the facility on December 2 to start removing my items, is when I noticed all the missing items. I would recommend not ever falling behind in payments, because once you go on auction lost it seems like they use that to their advantage to go through your belongings and take what they want prior to an auction sale. My unit was up for public sale at an auction on December 5, 2023.

I put up a credit card to hold the spot , show up to move in only to be told there is no available storage. I even had a confirmation. After leaving I came across the U-Haul on 2540 w 63rd st Chicago Il. I call the number the rep was extremely helpful. I was able to move in right away. I love this place, easy access and closer to me. The rep also told me the other U-Haul did have availability so they lied to me. I rate 63st 5 stars. I rate 61st street negative 1. Very poor.

They smoke in the bathroom with rags. I have 2 rented warehouses and sometimes I have to go up the stairs to the third floor to go down the elevator and bring my tools up.

I was promised a lock when it first ordered the unit online when it got to the facility in was told that locks were no longer a part of the rental due to people reserving the units then canceling reservations just to get a lock.... She eventually provided me one after proving the contract stated such . after showing me where I could load at the dock in the back i informed the associate I would return later once I had finished packing the truck... This is where it all went wrong... First online the facility states its a 24 hour facility... Actually its not. The hours of operation is 7am to 7pm but the customer associate I spoke with last night jessica informed me that unit access is from 7am to 10pm.... That's a big difference from 24 hrs. Next is proceeded to pack my truck and get my belongings into the unit.. Boy was I surprised to find out that now one was present in the facility and to make matters worse I couldnt load from the street because the security outer door was timed for 15 second intervals. So I called uhaul just to find i needed to request 24hr access which was never mentioned before. So after plenty of back and forth it was eventually clear that this move wasnt going to happen. I was going to have to move everything back upstairs just so I couldreturn the uhaul rental truck. This was a complete nightmare. I used the truck to move all my stuff but couldnt complete my move because of the facility's lack of transparency. To make matters worse the general manager should be fired for her lack of care or empathy. She refused to take ownership of the miscommunication citing like I should know uhals policy fir her facility. No I wish I could be gone to another storage facility. I probably still will. I dont like the lack of care aspect.... Im exhausted and I still got to do this again this Saturday. So customer service was excellent over the phone. Getting the truck was a painless process. Getting a storage unit was subpar... Again fire the general manager she obviously no longer cares. Its time for her to find new employment maybe making doughnuts or flipping burgers something that places her out of the general public's view.

And this particular facility has homeless people living there inside the lockers. There were several times I couldn't get my things moved because people living in the lockers on the top floors would purposely leave the elevator doors open so that ppl couldn't disturb them. I've used the steps to walk up and gain access to the elevator and there's so many people living in this facility it may as well be a homeless shelter. It's ridiculous. That needs to be taken care of. There's nothing wrong with the staff, they were always really nice. But the homeless issue made me feel very unsafe and was an inconvenience.

LARRY WTransforming my move here was the worst experience of my life I give them a 0 on everything nothing was good. the manager was horrible I called customer service and Traffic so much. They sent me through so much I cried several time and couldn't get any help. the Manager there had denied me to move my stuff in, after the lady at Midway had moved me in there. he had put something in my storage and said I couldn't have the room. I had to drive all the way over to midway and the lady had came back with me we looked for a room for about a hour then we went to the storage I was suppose to have and he had put like 20 items in it, so her, my kids, and myself moved the items so we could move in. I spent over $1 200 moving here and was treated so poorly I want some type of compensation back. there was more than this that happen this is just to sum it up all you have to do is listen to the recorded calls

JADUAN LAfter filing a corporate complaint on Saturday from the locations not having my reserved truck, as well as against a General Manager Chrissy Rivera, I almost gave up on using UHaul altogether... But the GM Edwin Clay, as well as an associate Devonte, they went above and beyond to assess my needs and were very understanding and empathetic during my stressful moving period. I am forever grateful for these two at THIS location... However, with the GMs Yolanda as well,as the GM, Chrissy Rivera on 47th street, they need customer service assessment training.

Bertha WThe entire rental process at Uhaul was terrible. I reserved a truck weeks in advance only to be called the day before to be told that there were no trucks available. I had to wait until the next day and when I arrived in the store I was told there still was no truck for me. This is entirely unacceptable on the part of Uhaul corporation. If it had not been for Edwin and his team who went above and beyond their job descriptions (and eventually had to give me a damaged truck), I would have had to pay thousands of dollars in extra rent and lost wages. These logistics problems that Uhaul seems to face have been solved by other industries (see rental cars for a good example) so there are no excuses for this type of delay. Also, telling the customer, as Angel in the Chicago dispatch office did, "to be flexible" is not an appropriate response to the problem, especially after two consecutive days of unavailable equipment.

carol kMy name is Stephen Curry. I rented a U-Haul truck this week from U-Haul Storage of Marquette Park, 2540 W. 63rd St., Chicago, IL 60629. The manager who worked with me was Edwin Clay. I have to tell you that Edwin gave me the best customer service that I have ever received. He called me several times to let me know the details about my 15' truck rental. When changes were needed in my schedule, he worked them all out and called me to confirm everything. When I went to pick up the truck, he parked it in the shade for me so that it wasn't hot when I got into it. He was always calm and helpful with each detail. It truly was service with a smile!
