Very poor customer service. Customers who have specifically chosen not to self checkin using the app are forced to do so by the staff because the staff are too lazy to do the check-in themselves. Instead of copying my ID like a normal transaction the staff member sent text messages to me illegally without my consent after I had specifically opted out of receiving text messages so that I could upload my own ID because he was too lazy to log it into the system himself. After multiple failed attempts it became clear that my employer's security permissions on my phone didn't permit that and instead of copying the ID himself I had to get my wife to come in so we could use her phone to upload the ID. After I returned the truck I was charged a $20 extra charge allegedly because I didn't check out in the uhaul app (which again isn't my job). Finally, the truck was in poor condition with a faulty seatbelt warning buzzer that beeped every five minutes even through the seat belt was buckled.

Mark W.My only comment is that although I originally booked my reservation for this location, I was routed to the alternate location: S & S Auto. When I called U-Haul, they stated that there was a truck available at the original location, so I was able to pick it up there. I don't know why this happened - one would think that if I make a reservation for a particular location (2 weeks in advance) I wouldn't be routed to a different location for pick-up. The alternate location was inconvenient for me, which is mainly why this is bothersome.

Ur site shows it for $19 n change to rent n then having to dip into my rent $ cuz its more than what the initial cost is? I shoulda just rode my bike to cda n back cuz its only $25 for a tank round trip n dealt with no speedometer.... I doubtfully will be renting it again.

AmberLee J.When I picked up the trailer the 2 male employees were very friendly and helpful (one was training). When I left I had an appliance dolly and that was all I had ordered. When I returned the trailer in West Richland, the gentleman was also very friendly and helpful. The order said that I had 23 blankets which I had not ordered and not received (looking at the order they were though). I called the Moscow office and Brittany,, the manager was rude to both myself and the gentleman helping me. My experience overall was very good, with the exception of the extreme rudeness from Brittny in Moscow.

I witnessed him standing on the top of my dresser drawer bureau to relocate an item he placed behind the bureau and was at a loss of knowing how to politely inform him of my disappointment in his ability to display respect to a belonging of mine. The Boise third party service provider was adequate and kind. Subsequent to their completion of unloading the U-Haul contents, I hired them separately for my continued moving needs.
Lori L.I brought back the equipment 2 days early and want a refund for 2 days of $757.52. I don't understand why I need to pay for equipment on the days I did not use it. It doesn't make sense that I have to return it to Maplewood MN when the license plate is from Arizona.

In my situation the only one was being returned same day as my pickup & those plans changed so I had to take a unit that was much bigger than I needed/wanted. It created addtl stress in me towing & managing the bigger unit & it wasn't even half full. The person who called same day about the change was rude. The on site staff was helpful.

Craig M.Reserved a 5x10 enclosed trailer. Got there and the only one they had was non op. Gave me a bigger trailer. Running lights didn't work. Blew the fuse twice. Turns out that that trailer was the same one I rented 2 weeks before, and it did the same thing, blew the running lights fuse. Yes, I told them the first time about the problem. Obviously it wasn't fixed. I was not happy, both times. And no, the problem is not my truck. I have 2 flatbed trailers, a boat trailer, and a pickup bed trailer, and they all work fine. I have been a certified master mechanic for 50 years. I owned a restoration shop for 40 years. I believe you owe me at a minimum the $113 I had to pay for a motel room, because I could drive at night with no lights. And you need to hire people who actually know what they are doing and can do repairs. That means you need to actually pay a decent wage, so that you have competent mechanics that actually fix problems instead of leaving people like me stranded in the middle of the night!

MISHELLE L. | Expérience généraleReturning a trailer on a Sunday knowing they closed at 5pm. Pulled into the parking lot with the 'open' sign still on at 4:57. Walked to the door and it was locked, got the attention of two attentants, who were sitting behind the front desk. After pointing at the lit open sign, and several looks between the 2 of them, one finally came out the side door and asked if they could help me. I told him I was returning the trailer and he told me they had already closed everything down and I would have to take care of it myself. After showing him my phone said 4:59, he reluctantly help get the trailer of my hitch, and told me I would have to do the self checking (which was not working at the time). The service at this UHaul is terrible.

I reserved a pickup for the day, went in to pick it up, the agent was eating at the counter, after getting his attention he gave me the key didn't say anything about a detailed inspection that needed pictures of the odometer and gas gage. I looked at gas gage it looked pretty full. Used the pickup for 12,2 miles, dash computer said it got 14,3 mpg, i put 1 gall of gas in and presented the recite on drop off. Check out guy came out with a soda in his hand and an attitude, looked at it and said i didnt fill it completely full and i would owe an additional 2 and a half gallons . He couldn't understand the logic and would and could not budge off of his computer. The manager was just as rude, when you stop using common sense and allow the computer to make all your decisions something is terribly wrong with our employees.So their new pickup gets 4 miles to the gallon. More then likely someone at the shop used it or it wasnt filled. All i know is this was the worst customer service i've had the misfortune to deal with.

I arrived from out of state with an online confirmed storage space reservation and was told reservations were only "requests" and the unit I reserved was not available. The only unit "available" was twice the size and price of the one I had reserved. I was then asked to provide a different email than my online account "for security". The higher priced unit was then booked on an account under the second email. I was a " no show" for the original reservation under my primary account and asked via email for feedback on why I did not keep my reservation. When I expressed my concern about this I was told by staff that they are the only U-Haul in a town with two universities so they can get away with anything they want. I contacted the manager with no response.

I tried the app, didn't work. I rang the office and was "put on hold", briefly before being cut off and hung up on. The 1-800 number are unhelpful. Nightmare.

The service is unacceptable and I will be writing about my experience on multiple platforms.

I had to change the reservation to June 31, 2022 & on that day I had NO one to help with my move. The manager was friendly & seemed exhausted & overwhelmed. UBoxes blocked my indoor access door for days and were next moved into the indoor loading area. This made moving my stored stuff more challenging. But overall, I have had a consistently positive experience here and with Uhaul in general for the past five months as I prepped for and executed a family move to a new city.

Sue I. | Premières impressionsThis was a case of what I consider false advertising. First, I was lead to believe that my storage unit was secured when I made the reservation for my Uhaul truck. I later came to find out that it was not secured, that there were no available units and that I needed to keep calling until one opened up. After many calls One finally opened up and I reserved it. Second, I came to then find out that this facility does not honor the "first month of storage free" as advertised on the Uhaul website. The clerk at the Moscow, ID store acknowledged this was a problem as many customers expect the first month free and are upset when they find out this is not the case. Because storage units are hard to come by I went ahead and paid the $189 for the first months rent. I could never discuss the matter with Brittany the manager as she was never at the store when I stopped in and I got tired of waiting on hold on the Uhaul 800 number. Third, the unit was not climate controlled as advertised. All of the climate controlled units were apparently full. I reserved the unit , paid in full and it sat empty for a month while I searched and waited for a climate controlled unit. One finally came open, I canceled my unit with Uhaul and moved my belongings into another facility. Based on the false advertising : no units available, no climate controlled units available and no first month free as advertised I would like a full refund of my $189. I believe however that the staff should be careful to keep the entrance to the storage clear always so that people can drive through. Many times this has not happened. Ian R. | Expérience généraleOnline, I reserved a 10x15 storage unit and received a confirmation notice for that specific size. The website noted that there was one 10x15 unit available and that is what I reserved (two days prior to rental). When I arrived at the UHaul facility in Moscow with a UHaul truck full of my household furnishings and after driving 300 miles that day (Boise to Moscow), the UHaul attendant informed that there were no units that size available in spite of my reservation. I asked what options existed and she told me I could either rent a 5x10 unit or go find another storage facility. I reiterated that I had a confirmation for the 10x15 unit and again asked what options existed as one 5x10 unit would not be sufficient. She repeated the same two options and offered no other solution. After letting her know that the 5x10 was 1/3 the size of a 10x15 and that it would not be large enough, I asked if there were possibly two 5x10 units available. She replied that there were but that they were not located close together. I asked if would be possible to rent both of the 5x10 units at the same price as the 10x15 since there is an inordinate price differential based on square footage. For example, the cost of a 10x15 unit is approximately $1 per square foot per month. The cost of a 5x10 unit is approximately $2 per square foot per month. She advised that she would request the modified cost for the units but that it could not be confirmed until Monday, June 15. I also said that I would need another lock, which she provided at no cost (which was very kind of her). I would like to say that she seemed hesitant about her ability to handle this situation and it was apparently hard for her to have to tell a customer that the unit that was confirmed was not available - a situation she should not have been put in by the company. Knowing that she was not responsible for UHaul's lack of integrity in honoring a confirmed reservation, I thanked her for her help. She was very pleasant but did not seem to be able to think of helpful solutions until prompted with ideas that I generated. I would like to thank her for helping me and I feel bad that she was put in that situation by her employer, but I would have also liked for the solutions to have been presented by the company making the error. Since the final rental cost will not be approved until Monday, June 15, I would also like to request that the two 5x10 units that I ended up renting be charged at the monthly rate of $1 per square foot (equivalent to the cost of the 10x15 unit) which would be approximately $100 per month, rather than the rate of the 10x15 unit, since I am only getting 100 square feet of storage space instead of 150 square feet. Please let me know if this reduced monthly rate will be honored due to the error made by UHaul. Thank you so much for your consideration of this request. Sure there are always those in line ahead of you with a rant about this or that, but these people are the real deal. They treated me very fair, courteous and even when I was a bit short - went the extra mile! I thought to bring them a little something to show my appreciation, but the COVID19 has got me thinking otherwise. The least I can do is leave a stellar review to showcase how nice these folks are to do business with. Thanks for a pleasant move in the worst of conditions. Moscow U-haul is #1.
