Do you do hitch installation? Or just sales?
Hi, Janet! Yes, U-Haul does install hitches and can also help you equip your vehicle with the proper parts for all of your towing needs. Please contact or visit your local U-Haul Hitch Center to schedule an installation. Thank you!
What Ball mount hitch (Rise) do you recommend for a 2008 Rav4 Toyota pulling a Uhaul 6 x 12 trailer? I have a Uhaul 2" tow mount installed already. I looked at the hitch on the trailer and lit looks like I need a higher hitch than I presently own.
Hey, Webster! Here is the best way to determine which ball mount is right for you:
- Find your hitch height: Measure the height from the top of your vehicle’s hitch receiver tube to the ground
- Find your coupler height: Level your trailer and measure the height from the bottom of the coupler to the ground
- Measure the difference: Subtract the height of the trailer coupler from the height of the receiver. This difference is the amount of drop you need in your ball mount.
- If your hitch height is greater than your coupler height, you’ll need a ball mount with a drop. If your coupler height is greater than your hitch height, you’ll need a ball mount with a rise.
