I'm not sure if it's just the Webster area, but the last 2 times i've used U-Haul i've had issues with both of my drop offs, and been VERY disappointed. The first one being Clear Lake (which i never heard back from y'all about), when i was told i wouldn't be charged for the 24 hour period if dropped off by a certain (don't remember exactly) time. I complied, and was still charged. when i called to try to get the issue resolved, i was told the same thing the League City store told me: â€œcall this numberâ€ When i dropped off at the League City store most recently, it was a far worse experience! Firstly, there were no signs, banners, or anything. The only way i even found the place, was seeing all of the U-Haul vehicles lined up down this random (i only it found by following the GPS), already narrow road, making only one lane accessible to both incoming and outgoing traffic to the â€œofficeâ€ and the storage facility its collaborated with. Not at all ideal for those without trucks or trailer maneuvering experience. Even with a truck there's hardly any space to move at all. How do y'all expect people to get in and out of there? ESPECIALLY with a trailer? Secondly, upon entering to ask if i was even in the right place, the attendant was very unprofessional. He was leaned back in his chair doing something on his phone (i'm assuming because the â€œinternet was downâ€ according to him), which was most likely for the customer who was already in there. when i told him i was looking for the U-Haul store, he asked what i needed, as if the answer to my question varied based on my response. After parking the trailer, i went back inside to ask if i had been charged for the dolly rental, because i forgot to pick it up after getting the trailer hooked up due to the poring rain, and wanted to see if i could get refunded if i was. As previously stated, he told me there was nothing he could do, because his internet was down. â€œCall that numberâ€ WORST OF ALL, when he followed me outside to unhook the trailer, he told me to go ahead and get in the vehicle, and he'd unhook it. after halfway unhooking it, he told me i was good to go and started walking back towards the office. Naturally, i put my vehicle in drive, and expecting the trailer to be unhitched, i hit the gas. I immediately realized i was not completely unhooked when i started dragging the trailer by its chain. When i got out to go see what happened, not only did he leave my harness (for the brake/blinker lights) dragging on the ground, he failed to do the easiest part of hooking/unhooking a trailer. He didn't take of the â€œreinforcementâ€ chains that hook onto the sides of the hitch receiver. I really wish i would've taken a picture, but again, the weather wasn't the best, so i was more worried about whether or not i just damaged the trailer, COMPLETELY unhooking it, and getting out of there. U-Haul has m been my family's â€œgo-toâ€ for truck rentals for over 2 decades. Until I looked it up, I didn't even know who y'all's competition was, because i'd never even though about it.. That said, even after the miscommunication at the Clear Lake store happened, and i never heard back from y'all about some type of solution or refund after writing to y'all about it, i tossed it up to â€œcoincidenceâ€ and still came back. Being that i never heard back the last time i submitted a review, i'm willing to bet i won't get a response to this one either. That goes to show how pointless these reviews are, and that nobody is actually reading them, because no â€œconsumer-based businessâ€ would ignore loosing a family full of loyal/returning customers over their own company's errors, incompetence, or lack of customer service. ESPECIALLY when it was deliberately brought to y'all's attention. Needless to say, we'll start trying Penske from here on out, if these situations aren't somehow rectified.CHRISTIAN D.

the storage place I dropped the trailer was not well marked as to where I was to go .. And we were also charged over 1 400 $on our bank card for some other thing to go to Tenn. we had to wait 5 days for it to be returned to our account . needless to say we give U-haul a poor rating and will not be using their services again.Brian T.

at the covid time, since the next customer has to wait outside till his/her turn, it could be nice if there were some canopy or something to stay in shade and get away from the Aug sunshine heatBijan A.
Didn't realize they were closed on Sundays. My receipt stated to â€œcallâ€ when in Webster. Perhaps my bad for not being in tune with agent-less drop offs. Voice mail didn't say anything about being closed. Again, more my bad for not realizing this, but having info on VM would be cool.Ken O.

This was a much better experience than the first time I had to deal with them. The first time I was told to take the truck elsewhere because they â€œdidn't have the spaceâ€ when it was clear that they did. I dealt with a different person this time and everything went very smooth!Joshua W.

We were asked to leave the trailer out front since the office was not open yet. We opted to leave and come back when the office was officially open out of fear that the trailer would get stolen and we would be liable. Otherwise great!!VICENTE R.

Actually you can improve by addressing my concern. I originally reserved a truck at a rental location in my hometown. Based on this pickup location and the destination I calculated 10 miles of total travel. The day prior to pickup I was notified by the local rental location that the truck I reserved was damaged and not available. I was told to pick up a truck at another rental location. This increased the mileage from 10 to 16 miles. I was charged for 16 miles. The damaged truck was not my fault so I asked for the bill to be reduced by 6 miles. I have not heard back from UHaul regarding this request.Joe S.

I had to drive to Colorado from Texas and encountered snow and rain and windshield wipers were terrible. The doors and windows were poorly sealed and wind was coming through with loud noise and I was cold the entire time.Royelle W.

I had no more than pulled up to location and stopped the truck and moved some of my personal belongings to my mothers car, who was driving us home....when the guy working at this location stepped out from somewhere, wearing no mask (pandemic), then asked if I was dropping off. My belongings were still in my hand. He then quickly asked where the key was. I said in my hands please hold on one second. He grabbed the key, to love truck to park it, he drove off very fast and zoomed around his storage complex, to come back and parallel park the truck and dolly. He got out about to lock up truck and I had to tell him I hadn't even completed the online drop off and check out. He gave me the key back and disappeared. I felt rushed, not welcomed, and then had to wait on him to park it in order to do check out. He also drove the unit very fast while it was still technically under my responsibility and wasn't wearing a protective mask for pandemic.Sarah J.

I had 2:00 reservations in Bacliff, TX. Reserved truck had no A/C. At 3:30 I picked up a truck in Webster, TX. I waited outside, in the heat, while the contract was printed out. Return time was still set for 2:00. This truck worked fine. Return had to be done thru website, even though business was still open. You need a "truth in rental" disclosure. This 19,95 $ rental cost ended up being 130 $.Arden L.

Arrived at my scheduled time and was told the truck I requested wasn't there. Waited 30 minutes for them to find one at another location and was told i was receive 10 % discount for my inconvenience however when i went to second location to pick up truck they had no knowledge of discount so I didn't get it.
