1.) Have the location open on time; Had to wait in the rain 20 minutes beyond designated opening hour. 2.) Was charged fees I did not authorize (i.e., CDW). 3.) Was not made aware company charges gasoline based on mileage rather than fuel gauge reading, and charges 2 times the price. 4.) Was not made aware of additional rental taxes. 5.) Was rushed to return vehicle as location was overbooking usage of vehicles to various customers on the same day.kevin B.

It's definitely not the stores fault that their system was down but because of that, we couldn't check out properly. I didn't want insurance but it was added somehow â€" but I wasn't able to change my reservation and I had no idea that it was included and we couldn't know anything prior that due to the system being down. so the guy at the front desk had to check us out differently hence we didn't get any explanation or clarification of what I'm going to get charged later and I was charged extra than I was meant to, which was unfair. I didn't get the contract or break down cost until hours after I already got the uhaul truck. They emailed me once the system was back. Then we did a favor the store a favor too and retrieved the uhaul for the store because the previous customer didn't check it in properly. SO we drove to a different location to bring it back to the check out location. the uhaul truck was technically not even ready for us when we arrived and so that was already an issue. But we understood and tried to be nice for that store! And so we felt like we accommodated the place but we got charged extra so we felt like we got taken advantaged. So once again, we don't think it was ill-will but rather unorganized and customer unsatisfactory due to the circumstances. I had to pay for the insurance I didn't want to buy but there was no way for us to take it off due to not being able to check out in the beginning with prior cost break down or explanation due to the system so we only had verbal convos. ALWAYS make sure you're checked out properly despite what they promise or agree with you. Even if the system is down, always have some form of documentation so you know what you'll be charged. My lesson learned from this place.Tammy T.
I arrived at my appointment on time & had to wait 20 minutes while Chris argued with a man & woman about returning a vacuum cleaner. When I finally got to the register he said I need the van back by 3:30. By the time I got the keys & got to the van I had already lost 30 minutes of my reservation time thru no fault of mine. He was very rude & was very rude to the couple he was helping before me. I will notch go back in to that vacuum cleaner store again. Terrible customer service, he made no apologies for my wait time & then charged me $6 because my fuel line wasn't exact as when I got it. I asked him if he had any paperwork for me and he replied no my printer is broke. Therefore I didn't have a guideline of how many gallons it would take to get back up to the fuel line as I have gotten in the past from a uhaul pick up location.Michelle H.
I arrived to pick up my uhaul. It was not stored where you pick up the keys. I noticed tape around the second bottom mirror. I adjusted the larger mirror (attached to the bottom one that was taped). It seemed fine. I had a hard time seeing out of the right side mirror on my one hour ride on highways. After I got to my destination I tried to adjust the mirror again. As I drove home on highways it fell down to point to the ground. I was completely blind driving on the highway. It was beyond dangerous and I am furious anyone would have thought sending someone out on the road with a truck in such poor condition was ok. The seat also had major tears in it and they covered it with a cover that kept moving around. I will never rent from this location again and I will be asking for a refund. I opted to pick up with just the mobile site like it recommended, but the online process did not work at all. After spending about ten minutes across several web browsers and multiple devices, I had to give up and try and deal with it at the store. While the guy at the store was very helpful, the store was strangely difficult to find and wasn't even open when I arrived -- at least 15 minutes after the pickup time had passed. To add on to this, the rental van wasn't even located at the business and I had to drive to another abandoned building where the vehicle was parked. The vehicle itself was very clean and well maintained, but the process was more of an endeavor than I would have liked.Dustin S.
Specifics of locations normal. Overall process was horrible. Meaning, made reservation 3 weeks in advance for pick up time at a convenient location (Chantilly, VA) . Reservation was changed to diff time and diff pick up location, and diff drop off location, all without notifying me. Never received a call on the change. I was charged $70 for insurance without anyone asking me if I wanted insurance. My auto insurance policy covers my rental, so I did not want insurance coverage from U-Haul. Because I was not given anything to sign, or a hard copy of the contact, I did not find out about the charges for the insurance until my rental was almost complete.Gregory F.

I drove a total of 106 miles. I was priced for 253 miles. My pick up time was 9:32am and I dropped it off at 12:00pm 2 hours and 28 minutes later. It is impossible to drive 253 miles in that amount of time. I was charged twice on my card once for $77,5 and then again for $116,89 totally $194,39 for only 2 hours and 28 minutes in a pickup truck. Something seems miscalculated. When I picked up the truck, the gas light was already on - so I returned it with only a quarter tank as I had found it. Chris had stated gas on the weekends is $1,79 but when I received my quote which was for a Saturday the gas charge was $0,39 for that Saturday. At this point I'm very unsure I'll be using uhaul again as this has been the most scheming and blind quoted system I've ever seen in a moving company. I'm currently on hold with UHaul Corporate to get this situated out.Max S.
It was likely due to using the 24 hour pickup option, but having to drive to the pickup location (ace vacuums), then drive to where the truck was parked, back to ace vacuums for the key, and finally back to the truck was a massive headache and put me well behind schedule. I'd suggest at a minimum directing customers to where the trucks are parked first.Thomas U.
Nothing against the leesburg store itself but against another location, Old Dominion Self Storage which I originally had made reservations with. Made reservation June 1st for tow dolly to be picked up June 23rd. Old dominion self storage is 2 miles from my house. Pass by it almost every day and I don't see any tow dolly. Around June 22nd, I decided to stop by to see physically if maybe they kept it somewhere else. Office wouldn't open the door. The lady came up while a dog inside was barking away, and pointed to the sign that says â€œcall the phone numberâ€ (which was the office phone). She wouldn't say anything else, wouldn't open the door or anything. Just says call the number. So went home, called the number. She answers and I ask about a tow dolly. â€œI don't have a tow dolly. Call this central dispatch number. All I see is a location number which I don't know what it means.â€ She was rude and not helpful. So I call the dispatch number and get a manager. She says I'll need to pick it up in Leesburg. I asked why it's not ready at the pick up location I asked for and she said it's just a preference and not the actual pick upâ€¦(so what's the point of making a reservation?). I asked if there's any discounts since I now have to make a 2hour round trip instead of a 10 minute round trip. She says she'll give me $50 off. I asked if it's reflected on the bill. She says they'll see the note that she put on there and deduct it at pickup. I drive the next day, June 23rd, to leesburg and the associate says there's no notes for $50 off and said he couldn't give it to me. Then I'm back on the phone again but no one answers. Finally after frustration and back and forth the dude gives me $50 off. Just overall bad experience of how UHaul handles business. Inefficient, ineffective, and poor. After this experience I will never use UHaul again and have told all my friends to consider other vendors.Mark L.

MY ISSUE IS WITH RUSTY AT THE UHAUL MAIN OFFICE 1-800 642-3452.I CALLED AND DISCUSSED OPTIONS WITH HIM TO CHANGE THE LENGTH OF THE CONTRACT AND DROP OFF LOCATION. HE GAVE ME A TOTAL OF THE MODIFICATION AND I AGREED. NOW I GOT THE FINAL INVOICE AND IT MUCH MORE THAN HE QUOTED. I CALLED TO DISCUSS WITH RUSTY AND HE WAS NOT HELPFUL, DISMISSED THE CONVERSATION AND PREVIOUS QUOTE AND JUST SAID "I HAVE NO IDEA WHER THOSE NUMBERS ARE FROM. I'M NOT HAPPY WITH UHAUL SERVICE. The connection between trailer and vehicle was not working and they sent us to Home Depot to get an adapter and told us it would be about $3 --- the adaptor was $20. Once connected there was a short in the wiring and the lights/signals were not working. We then had to go to an Autozone to purchase a new connection cable. We believe that the personnel at ACE should have never let the trailer off the lot without assuring us that the signals/brake lights were working properly. Isn't that UHAUL policy? First time renter and last time renter at this location. My level of trust and expectation for this location it's way south. When I got my e-receipt, I noticed that I was overcharged 17 miles. I went back to the location and spoke with the manager. After the adjustment was requested in the system to Uhaul, she stated that all I have to do was wait for a call from Uhaul to confirm the adjustment. Easy right? (After almost two weeks I never received "the call" from Uhaul). A week later I went back to the location and the Manager was off. The tech who works for the vacuum company that shares the location with Uhaul took my P# and stated to me, "we'll call you tomorrow". No call either. Then I called customer service and spoke with Diana to whom i explained my situation. Diana stated that nothing was requested in the system on my behalf and any adjustment/credit has to be done at the location. Diana then requested the adjustment to this location and told my that i have to wait 48 hours. Finally on 04/25 i saw the adjustment on my CC. My advised to all renters: 1) Picking up your rental, take pictures of the odometer before leaving the parking lot. 2) Dropping Off, If the location is open, closed the contract before you leave and get your receipt. Please, be advised that this review is based on my rental experience only.NELSON F.
Never even saw a uhaul sign at the store. Had to call a different store from there to complete the rental. Equipment was close to a mile away. Nobody available to help me hook up the trailer (rented a 6x12 trailer which is quite heavy and I'm not as young and fit as I used to be). Trailer had a running light out and a break light out. Called them and they had me switch to another trailer. (another unhook and hookup of trailer without help). Never got any paperwork. Emailed rental agreement was generic. Did not even say what I was renting, let alone which specific trailer I was renting.Joseph H.

The location was convenient and the staff was very polite, respectful and helpful. There was a problem with the trailer we rented, the right turn indicator would not work. Bradley Chatman tried to repair it. When he couldn't he promised to come to our home the next day to repair it. He arrived as promised and work diligently on the repair but the problem was in an inaccessible location. Brad said he would go get another trailer, bring it to us, help us unload and reload. He was true to his word and assured that we had a safe trailer and that we got everything reloaded securely. He is truly a great representative for U-Haul.Charles B.

Firstly, I got a text message the day before our move saying that the pickup location had moved from a convenient location to a place over half an hour away. I then called the number provided for the new location, Ace Vacuums, to confirm my equipment and appointed time for pickup and he hung up on me. When we got to the location, the equipment wasn't ready and they said they COULDN'T FIND IT. It took them almost 2 hours to track the trailer down, which was apparently dropped off across the street at a different location. Instead of going and getting it for us and bringing it to the appointed location, we had to go find it ourselves and pick it up across the street, behind a shopping mall, ON A HILL where it had been dumped at the bottom. We had to find and hookup the trailer ourselves. We also ordered and paid for a dolly that was not provided. This was the WORST experience and I want a refund.Rachel D.
