The staff were nice and really helpful. A gentleman who worked there backed the trailer in and detached it for me. Thanks Portsmouth UHaul for a good experience.

MARTERRIOUS RThoroughly clean truck, do routine maintenance such as checking brakes(ours faulty), fix mirrors, fill gas tank, fix steering mechanisms (ours faulty), do body work. We had to have our truck towed due to brake problem.

LARRYTRUNG LNot in a safe location. Would not drop off or pick up at night. Representative kept the door locked. He was pleasant, but the Uhaul website was down (perhaps still or again). He took the keys from us, but I had to call Uhaul several hours later to confirm they had record of our return. They did not . Called the drop-off location to confirm the return.

Will WThe employee told me there was a quarter tank of gas when I went and checked there wasn't a quarter tank of gas there was just under an eighth of a tank of gas. I brought the truck back with exactly the amount of gas that was in it. I was charged 9 gallons of gas plus a $30 restock fee. the employee never checked the truck before I left, he was in a hurry to leave himself. I was charging $65
Lional PUhaul changed our pick-up location from the city of Norfolk to the city of Portsmouth. When we arrived, no one was there and the building was locked. We had to call repeatedly to get in contact with someone to come to the location. Then when we opened the back of the moving truck, there was shattered glass every where.

LATOSHA HThe auto transport was not available for pick up at my scheduled pick up time. Had to come back the next day to pick it up. Also, since I was unable to pick it up Friday. Uhual canceled my order so I had to do everything again on my phone because the guy there was unable to do it on his computer..not satisfied with my experience at this location.

Romualdo CIf a customer chooses to drop off in a different town and fills out the form as such then the truck should have been for that type of rental . Also got charged for fuel that was replaced . Should inspect properly upon return.

Inez LMe and Mr. Charles started off great!! Came in and it was a nice vibe. Assuming he bypassed the part where he ask me if I want insurance or not. I received my contract which shows I'm being charged for the insurance. This is where we drew the disconnect! He got rude at this point and called me every pronoun (seriously) and carried the situation as if I did some wrong. However, after the back and forth (15 mins or so) Mr. Charles made it right! I was satisfied leaving, however that dang Mr. Charles switch up on you, so be easy with what you say to his old grouchy self! I'd go back though and recommend, bc after his spat he make it right! Thank you Mr. Charles lol!

Shadia MThere were no major issues with the truck, it was drivable and got the job done but there was no printed contract for me to sign, nor did I sign an e-contract. Once I looked at my receipt I noticed that I was charged for the "safe move" insurance which I did not opt for. This Uhual dealer REQUIRES you to use the insurance and does not give you the option to choose if you want to do so, they also do not inform you of this before charging you. I now understand that this is their policy per this location but I would've appreciated if they had explained this prior, so that I could've made a decision for myself.

Aneesah JStore was closed during posted hours. A young man was there sitting in the dark and came out to tell me they closed early. After informing him I had made an online reservation and their store hours said they should be open he had me come in out of the rain. He called his 'boss' and was walked through the steps to get my rental taken care of. I returned the equipment after about 3 hours use. Geolocation did not work on the website so I left it in their lot as instructed by the uhaul website. I was charged for 3 DAYS. I called to inform the location about the situation and get a refund. The guy was slow to take my information then told me he would have to call me back. When he did he gave me a number and said to call his district manager. Left a voicemail with the number given and have received no reply. This location and its staff are incredibly frustrating.

Keshara MI was charged a fee for bringing the truck back at 40mi to empty when I received the truck the digital display read out 45mi to empty. I was charged a $30 convenience fee and for 9 GL of gas. This is unfair and I want my money back!

Joseph LI guess someone called out so no one was available at 11am to assist with customers. Someone finally showed around 1110 and couldn't get into the building. She left came back not too long after and asssisted everyone. She was pleasant. My truck wasn't clean and was very close to empty.

Phillip ENothing wrong with the uhual but the service desk needs work. Personnel working the counter were clearly frustrated with phone calls and visibly showing that to other customers- eye rolls, hands waving about, jumping up and down etc. desk is too far from window and difficult to communicate. When asked to print something- stated the printer was broken then, after not able to email receipt, the printer worked. After dealing with 4 uhual locations in a spans of 72 hours, I highly recommend going to a regular uhual servicing location. Not just one that happens to "uhual on the side".
April AThey charged me too much money and acted like they were going to charge me a cleaning fee. There was dirt and trash in the vehicle when I picked it up and when I brought it back they threatened to charge me for it. It was only supposed to be 30-40 bucks and somehow they ended up charging my card 99 dollars claiming I drove 100 miles in a couple of hours. I only drove the van 15 mins to ikea to pick up a piece of furniture. The site looked like it was under construction and was a mess. When I returned the vehicle a teenager was working. I will never rent a uhaul again.
Melinda MI will never go to another place like that again I'm used to the actual U-Haul at store on airline boulevard and that's where I would rather go but they didn't have a truck that day. That place was not reputable at all. I was a few minutes late when I got there and no one was there I sat there I called no one answered there was no way to leave a message the building was locked up it didn't even look like it was an open place it's inside of a remodel building and I was literally afraid to go in there because it was just too strange men that walked in after I was sitting in my car and no one greeted me I had no clue who these people were it ended up being the people running the U-Haul place, very shady!! When they showed me the U-Haul they didn't even open the door all the way because they saw dirt and said well you see there's something in the floor already I had no way to know if it leaked or anything like the previous u-haul. When I got home and was closing it up for the night the one door wouldn't shut so you had to slam it very loudly to get it to shut all the way it was raining so I didn't want it to get wet inside so it was just a bad experience all the way around that place and with that vehicle.
lisa aAEK 1 was great; the light on the tow dolly wasn't working and they went and got supplies and fixed it right then and there. This was the second uhaul location we'd been too that the lights didn't work but AEK 1 was able to get us on the road.

Michael KThere is no way to contact AEK 1 Construction when dropping off your equipment, the address is a gutted/under construction building, and they thought that my U-haul was late when it had been sitting at the drop off location for 2 days.
Alex AThe truck was in great shape, but my receipt was shown as being turned in over a day later, when it was returned after 4 hours. There were several additional charges added to my bill that were either declined or not known about before taking possession of the truck.
