We were charged a fuel fee of $20 when we had replaced the fuel we used. I took a picture when we got in the truck showing the setting. The guy at the store said it was 5/8 full, it was not. I said I would come to the store and show him. He was not interested. When we returned the truck, no one was there.

My rental truck was filthy outside with some sort of black oily tar substance. Inside, I found napkins, straw wrappers and pocket change. Sales associates and customer service was exceptional!

Your computer system is simply terrible. You have all my information, but I still have to go through the entire process over and over again....and it takes forever. It should be simple, but Uhaul has made it a pain in the ass and time consuming.

Location good. Service from uhaul terrible. Reserved 15 ft truck on sept 14. Told me they would have to sent me to Mt Vernon on sept 28. Derailed my moving plans and clearly didn't care. Hard to imagine why they didn't know on sept 14 that they could not reserve a 15 ft truck for me to use on Oct 1. Terrible service. And apparently it's common. Mobile check in was confusing.

The AC unit in the truck did not work on day1 of a 5 day across USA trip.. We sweltered in 100F temperatures in the cab for a day- one whole day. Went to two locations to attempt to get it fixed. Cle Elum WA (Uhaul) and Ellensburg WA (Wise automotive). They could not fix it. On day 2 I managed to fit it.

UHaul provided terrible customer service, took no accountability for their mistakes, and failed to make things right when given the opportunity. I made a reservation on June 25 to pick up 15' truck in Seattle on Saturday, July 23. On Friday, July 22, the day before I was supposed to pick up the truck, I got a text saying the location had changed to Tukwila,WA with a pick up time of 12:30pm and they required me to call to confirm. Although it wasn't my original location, I was willing to adjust since I recognize it's summer and a lot of people tend to move at that time. I called, spoke to a customer service rep who confirmed location and pickup time for the following day - Tukwila at 12:30pm. When I arrived to get the truck the next day, the lady at the front desk looked at me like I was crazy. I told them I had a pickup time of 12:30. They said I was wrong and my actual pickup time was 6pm. I told her that was impossible since my apartment complex's rental office closed at that time and I wouldn't be able to turn in my apartment keys on time if I had set a pickup for 6. She reassured me that my pickup time was 6pm. I had to then dig out the text that specified the location UHaul asked me to go to along with the designated time UHaul assigned - 12:30pm. At that point, she said she didn't have any trucks and I would have to wait until at least 6. Once again, I told her that wouldn't work. Eventually, she escalated and UHaul gave me one of two options - downgrade to a 10' truck or upgrade to a 20' truck. I told the rep I couldn't downgrade because of the size of my apartment so she said I would have to upgrade and pay the new price. When i asked why I would have to pay for an error on their side, she said she couldn't do anything about it and if i wanted to be reimbursed, i would have to file a complaint but for the time being, i could take it or leave it. Additionally, I would have to drive more than 1,5 hours north (one way) to Clinton, WA to pick up this 20' truck they assigned me. Not only was I going to have to pay the additional cost for a 20' truck and drive for more than 3 hours to get it and make it to my apartment, I would also have to pay the ferries to get to Clinton and back. By the time I got to my apartment and finished packing, it was 9pm. We lost the day and had to pay more than $700 in hotel costs due to the additional day in Seattle for me and my family. When I finally made it to my destination and told the receiving UHaul site manager about the truck rate I had to pay relative to my original reservation, he put it in the system and I got a voicemail the next day saying UHaul would refund me a whole $100 which wasn't event the difference in cost between the two truck sizes, let alone the time wasted and hotel costs incurred. This was the worst customer experience I've ever had and would not recommend UHaul to anyone who is on a timeline or has any expectations of decent customer service. Corey, at the Clinton facility, was the only redeeming factor for UHaul and it's clear there is a culture issue that needs to be resolved within the company.

Install trailer jack stands to facilitate a safer hitch and unhitch process. The current practice is going to lead to smashed fingers, strained backs and possible broken bones. This is a very real safety issue fo U-Haul not only for their customers but their employees as well.

U-Haul reservation system is a joke. Don't expect to get your truck at the location you “reserved” it at. Don't expect to get it for the price you “reserved” it at. What a joke. I “reserved” a 20” truck a month ago. Now, today, the day before our move. They call and say they don't have the truck, but that I can get the closest one on Whidbey Island. Yea, you heard that right. They forced me into a position where I had to spend 6 hours on a friday after work waiting for ferries, paying $60 for the ferry, to get the truck I “reserved” a month ago 3 miles from my house. After all that, the gentleman at the counter (who, himself, was very helpful, somehow did something in the computer whilst trying to update my drop off location that DOUBLED my price, and he couldnt fix it back. He called some corporate store number and they managed to take off a measly $30. Not the $200 they just up-charged me. I had to call the number myself and complain for 10 minutes and they dropped off another $40 or so. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with U-Haul. They should be sued. Im never using U-Haul again.

The young man who helped me was very nice and polite. The last time I used this location the man was not so nice But this guy was good. Uhaul's 6x12 covered trailer is very heavy and could use a jack on the tongue to help on and off the vehicle.

The location was changed on us as well, turning a 20-minute round-trip return drive into an hour round-trip return drive. The owner called earlier in the day to ask when I'd arrive, and I said I was shooting for 4:30 p.m. or 5 p.m. I arrived at 5:09, and the place was already closed, with no clear signage where to leave the truck. Due to all of the delays at the beginning and the end, I was charged an extra day of rental.

Honestly, the truck I rented had some suspension issues, and something wrong with the exhaust system. The transmission fluid was also low. I topped it off when I got the truck home.

Check in person was rude, full of attitude, and not at all concerned with being helpful - didn't bother to inquire about the trailer or offer to help unhitch and store it - just barked orders. Had he bothered to ask about the trailer he would have been informed that the lights were a problem, a definite safety issue. Worst U-Haul rep I have ever encountered in my many transactions over the years.

Everything was great until check out and the U-Haul system REQUIRED three (3) different contact names and numbers. Had their been a 4th needed (possibilty), I would have walked away. This requirement is absurd in this day and age of privacy. I rent from Uhaul frequently for my business and from the corporate owned locations I only need my one contact number along with WDL and credit card. I recommend you improve your system requirements at your non-corporate locations.

Check out simply takes too long. If one has rented before from U-haul the information is already in your system…..use it to speed up the process.

They are very helpful and informative there. Answered all my questions about renting a trailer. It was easy to do. Just had to wait a bit while they input my info. I guess I could have done that on the website for them but it was a last minute idea to rent a trailer. When I called to ask to rent it another day there was No Problem. I didn't even have to go back in with my card. Very convenient! I will and have recommended this place to my friends and family.

The staff is friendly & helpful. The facility is clean, brightly lit, cool in summer & warm in winter. Restroom and carts are available for renters. Our furnishings were safe there.
