I received a call from the manager at a Mansfield/Harris UHAUL Sunday 9/26. It was closed but our presence was on video surveillance. After hour returns are something we know how to do in order to return a rented vehicle and never expected to get this call regarding our return. The words were used â€œI just received a creepy messageâ€ regarding the van return. It was mentioned that she called me to VERIFY if it was in fact â€œusâ€ dropping off our van rental at her location. In today's sensitivity regarding â€œblack lives matterâ€ and policing I am writing this comment because I believe this call could have caused a police reaction due to the CREEPY NATURE IMPLIED. I was made to feel we didn't belong on her lot (suspected bad vibe) and she used the word â€œcreepyâ€ several times which was considered an insult. I'm grateful that she called me first to validate the return instead of calling police unnecessarily. Please make note that ALL BLACk MEN shouldn't create a fear to the UHAUL manager. We are offended as the use of that word creepy implies a negative context towards a innocent law abiding, honest, customer and should be assumed otherwise suspicious.KEVIN R.

First of all the sales guy was rude and upset when I declined insurance coverage. Then I get in the truck and the tire pressure gage was on and tire was low. Get your maintenance together before trying to tell me how strict you were going to be since I declined coverage. Next time I hope the Newt Patterson location has Wht I need.TOMASINA D.

Customer service is lacking. The cargo van was not cleaned when I picked it up and it had some known damage; including a broken tail lens, which I was told â€œit's okay â€œ since the light works. Then I brought to attention that there were two maintenance/service indicator alerts. One was for oil change requirement, which I was told to ignore since U-HAUL had its own maintenance schedule. (If that's true, then I suppose they know better than the manufacturer when it comes to preventative maintenance.) The other warning light was the low tire light, of which the right rear tire showed only 27psi. The guy literally â€œkicked the tireâ€ and said it looked okay to him, so I was to ignore that too (â€œprobably a bad sensorâ€). But for peace of mind I could add air at convenience store down the road (which I did). The next day noticing that the tire lost some psi, I called and was told that they were aware of the â€œvery slow leakâ€ and to add air as needed and it will be fine. Upon return the rep denied knowing about the leak. When it came to questions about the billing the rep was dismissive and lacked sincerity. Next time I will hesitate to use U-Haul again, but if I do it won't be from this location.ALAN S.

The staff member Mike runs a self storage facility and rents U-HAUL products. Upon entering the office Mike was on the computer and didn't acknowledge me until I spoke. He told me he could not accept my returned equipment because he didn't have space, I told him I had a contract to fulfill and his location was the one I selected. He tried to make me to return the vehicle transport to a different location, I let him know that was not an option, he told me he has the right to refuse service to anyone. I walked out of the office, back to the truck to call corporate. He came out a few minutes later stating he could take the vehicle transport and I just needed to remove the vehicle from it. After the initial incident, Mike was helpful and waived the small mileage overage fee, I just don't see using his U-Haul location again if at all possible.MARK D.

Went there to pick up the trailer and the jack for the trailer was not there. Wasn't too happy about the rates and how they differ from city to city. After I dropped off the trailer at my destination, I get a phone call from the owner of this location saying that the establishment across the street complained of mud tracks on their property. Accusing me of being responsible for making the mess and that the company was looking for compensation for the cleanup. I was also told that there was video evidence of the incident and was told that I would not be able to be shown footage because of lack of technical knowledge of how to send footage through email. I reviewed my timeline through google maps and saw that my route made it impossible for me to have gone through said property. Also was told that our personal information was given to the third party looking for compensation without prior knowledge of the complaint. Later that same day I received a phone call from that same uhaul owner apologizing for the confusion saying another person was responsible for the mess made at the other establishment. The owner conducted himself very unprofessionally and I will not be returning back for any business of any sort and will advise others not to do so.GERALE J.

Checkout experience was chaotic. Several customers waiting with me on rentals ahead of me and equipment wasn't ready. Manager pushed hard to upsell me on insurance coverage when I already had through other means. Said that Uhaul wouldn't wait on insurance payment if there' was a claim and would come after me. I use uhaul frequently and the sales rep told us that we had to get the insurance and if we didn't then we wouldn't be able to rent the truck and trailer. When we advised him that we rent frequently and we've never had to choose an insurance at that point he begin to say that the Grand Prairie location was doing their rentals wrong and that I was accusing him of lying and starting throwing a fit about it. However on the end after I walked away and the paper world had been completed, he then apologized to Ms. Ross and told her I was right and that we didn't have to f her eat the insurance but the contract is now complete and there's nothing he could do about it. The tow Dolly running lights did not work. The turn signals and brake lights did work OK. The right wheel well was broken and loose with almost all of the rivets holding light housing busted loose. The owners were very helpful and considerate for the rental process. Besides the problems with the tow dolly I did make the 1200 mile trip without incident. I did have to readjust the right wheel ratchet strap as it does need to be replaced on the tow dolly. I pointed all this at the drop off location and they said they would fix the issues before it is rented out again.james C.
