The clerk who helped me did not know anything about uhaul rentals (the location is a convenience store) and had to call the owner who handled those. The owner was not there even though I arrived at the scheduled time and had to do everything over the phone. This entire process took awhile. Once the rental contract was complete it was clear I was on my own hooking up this trailer. I had never hooked up a trailer before, thankfully the instructions inside the trailer were clear and my wife was with me to help. Unfortunately the wiring harness was missing which required another trip into the store to talk to the clerk who did not know anything about uhaul and had to call the owner again... Long story short, this location needs train another person on how to do uhaul rentals. On a positive note, I will add that everyone I talked to was was very nice and friendly.Eric E.

Please hire different staff to manage equipment returns. The staff member who assisted me looked 14 years old and acted like they were 10 years old. They duplicitously gave me information on the phone and gave me directly contradictory information when I arrived in person. When confronted, they denied having spoken with me before. When I called back their number to make sure I wasn't crazy, their phone briefly rang before they silenced it right in front of me. When asked for their name, they paused awkwardly before giving a name distinct from the one they used in the voicemail they left.JOSEPHMARTIN G.

There was no one at this location at all??? There was a sign to call Darlene, but after multiple attempts and voicemails we never heard from a Darlene or anyone. We returned the uhaul at 1pm and the hours said they were open until 6. Pretty sketchRachel N.
Country store that also serves as a U-Haul dealer. At pick up, the trailer was dirty with caked on mud that I had to scrape off before returning equipment. Tire pressure was approx 25 psi too low on all tires. Had to inflate tires. Otherwise the trailer was in good condition.Russell G.
I was supposed to pick up this truck at another location. Of course, it was not there at the date and time it should have been. So I was sent to this location. I received no mileage differential even though this location was further away from the house where I was to load the furniture. I typically use Penske as I have had no problems from them but apparently package haulers lock them all down in December.James C.

Clerk did not know what she was doing and kept saying "my husband usually does this". It took me 20 minutes to pick up a truck that was already reserved. I also was supposed to have an appliance dolly, but she couldn't find it , so I had to go to another uhaul location to get one. Would not recommend picking up from this location.Derril A.

They need to inform you about the last inspection if something is wrong with the vehicle. The vehicle had a light once you turn the key on saying low left tire. i tried to put more in the tire. Talked with the representative; she say she knew about the problem. She should have told me that so I could have save 1 mile in charges after all was said and done. Work on hospitality!!!Rickie J.
Our reserved trailer was given to a broken down customer 20 mins before we got there. Then we were given a trailer that had a broken leaf spring that we didnt notice until we got it to our house. So we had to return the first trailer for a different one. In all it took over 2 hours to actually be able to get a trailer.KATIE S.

I have referred several friends. The best customer service rep was from the Colonial Heights, VA location at Southpark Mall. His name was Milton (I think). He went above and beyond to help me. He was so so polite and helpful.Cynthia B.
Personnel told me to photograph mileage and gas as she said she was unable to go outside because she was by herself. HOWEVER, another customer came in and needed to exchange a gas tank and she proceeded to go outside with him . . . Right after telling me that she could not go outside to record the gas and mileage.Mae G.

I LOVE this location! I am relocating from Maryland so the customer service and pricing was astonishing! UHAUL could give smaller businesses more opportunity to service customer base. As I waited for them to hitch the trailer to my truck I enjoyed freshly prepared breakfast!Augusta H.
First when I made the reservation it put me into a pick up spot two hours away I had to wait on hold for 20 minutes to get it fixed then once I picked up the truck he told me my return location was 30 minutes farther than I needed to go. The store wear I dropped off the trailer, ARNETT'S, was very nice and detaching the trailer was simple and there was plenty of room.howard R.
I was charged an additional 86 because I was provided a truck with an error with the fuel. My 15' truck came with 1/4 tank of gas when it was written out as just under filled. I was advised the printout would be emailed to me but I did not see an email. The worker did gratefully write out a receipt stating the error but 86 was still taken out of my bank account with no notification to myself and after calling customer service it will take up to 7 business days to be returned but the company has no call back policy so I have to go out of my way to follow up. I will follow up Monday morning. This is the second issue I have had with U-Haul in regard to to a lack of proper communication to each other that has cost me additional time and money. If it was not so closed to a monopoly I'd stick with a different company.joy L.

South St. folks were great. My comments are directed to Uhaul. Their review site did not allow for details. Uhaul website is very frustrating. Vehicles are not where they think they are. Their logistics and inventory control is totally messed up. It took three customer service representatives to finally get me a truck and auto transport locally. The second truck still had a check engine light go on before we reached our destination - poor maintenance program apparently. Could not turn in vehicle to place on my reservation because it did not have a working number. Dropped it off elsewhere. When U haul called asking if I had turned it in, and I told the rep. my story, she offered a credit back to me on my charge. This morning, when I checked, there was no credit back,, but found that I had been double charged. Another customer service call. First was dropped. The only good thing about Uhaul was the customer service representatives and store personnel. They were awesome. Advice: Do not try to rent a Uhaul online. Just go to a local store and do your business there. Recommend South St. This has been an absolute more stressful experience than necessary. I would still like some money back for my troubles. South Street location - if you have some way of sending this to corporate, I would truly appreciate a response from them. Merci.Barbara W.

Everything was great. This location was a small cute country store which had things like homemade jelly, jars of honey and the owners daughter had a nice ice cream stand. Oh yeah, the trailer was ready and paperwork only took a few minutes.keith L.

Go and rent elsewhere. The owner there Darlene is nasty, loud and obnoxious. Has no people skills and does not know how to treat Uhaul clients. She talks bad about the Uhaul company and the president and I quote her words. â€œHe doesn't know what he is doing when he makes a mistakes he run hide and tucks his head between his legs!â€Kelley F.
