The only real struggle is the road right in front of the shop. There is always someone who can assist in getting back out into traffic though so that problem is minimized.William C.

Made reservations on line for closer location to where I was living. So there I purchased boxes with supplies. I get home to use boxes and there was no tape, no market, no knife? But yet yet new looking , closed box? My son purchased a second box for 39,98 $, and the same thing. Missing merchandise. No tape, no market, no knife. I want a refund.Cynthia M.

Our pick up location was supposed to be UHaul of Havertown (2 Township Line Rd). But there was no truck to pick up when we arrived. The "team" was unhelpful, rude, and utterly un-phased by movers waiting at both ends of our move being paid to do nothing! If it weren't for Jerry and his team at Bala Motorsports we would have been sunk! The guys at Bala were friendly and helpful - an absolute joy compared to the obnoxious employees in Havertown. We paid a premium price for some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Please be sure the two extremes didn't go unnoticed. Never, ever will I use UHaul Havertown again.Maureen C.
These questions don't remotely assess my experience. First, a week earlier, our truck wasn't even available. We had to postpone our move until the following week. THEN, still no truck available at my local U Haul 10 minutes away...we had to drive 45 minutes reach way to pick up. And then to discover there's only 1/8 th tank of fuel. Oh, not to forget the 20 minutes on hold phone calls to U Haul to clarify aspects of the rental. Our experience was AWFUL...no stars!!!! What if we had not had the ability to wait a week for our truck??? What if we were closing on sale of our home??? U Haul was undependable. And this was a mid month rental!!!! I had a very bad experience from the previous booking location at Lancaster Ave. Then they sent me to this Belmont location. The receptionist here was very friendly and efficient to get me into this new rent. The helper helped me adjust the mirrors and taught me the other features. Our only complaint was that the truck was super dirty and got a lot of our furniture dirty. We made sure to sweep it when we were done and you could tell it hasn't been done in a while.Vashti F.
The actual address is incorrect. Took an Uber here and and was dropped off at a cemetery. The actual address is a mile down the road. Police officer happened to be driving by and helped us out. They also were not ready for our pick up and had to find the order in the system. This put us an hour behind our load/unload costing us money.Bryant J.

floor of truck covered in dirt but I was happy to get the truck. It was a fast turn around so i guess thay did not have time. I quickly swept it out so not a problem. I think the truck has the beginning of a transmission problem. It was racing going down hill and was slow to catch. and get in gear.Neil R.

Call to get an access code for the rental stating that her internet was down (unlikely as this also occurred the last time we rented from them) Gave keys to the wrong truck and therefore wouldn't start Truck in the verification of damages was not the correct truck Overall a horrible experience and hope to never interact with them again.Paul H.

I ordered blankets and we did not receive them. We needed them for our furniture and the moving company damaged our furniture. They are saying we didn't have moving blankets and that is why they flanged out furniture but they drug our stuff on the ground.Zachary C.

There were two U-Haul employees in a very tight office space, where social distancing was impossible, and neither one was wearing a face mask. There was a third person working in a connected garage space who was also not wearing a face mask. The sign on the door to the office said closed even though they were open. The space smelled like cigarettes. When I returned to drop off the van keys in the drop box, I saw that one of the employees was smoking. The location is dangerous and inconvenient. It may look good on a map because it is very near to I-76, but their lot is too small to park more than one U-Haul van/truck. As a result, I had to wait a while outside in the cold (I did not want to wait inside and further increase my risk of contracting COVID-19) for them to go several blocks away to pick up the van and park it at the gas station across the street from the U-Haul office. I then had to cross a very dangerous intersection to get to the gas station where the van was parked. What can U-Haul do to improve for the next customer? As a start, you can require that all staff who work at this location get tested for COVID-19 and then enforce their responsible use of face coverings.Colin Y.
This location is small. Not enough space to park uhaul truck. Guy at front desk didnt bothered to get up and check the truck with me, instead he asked did I fill the gas and asked me for the keys. This is a liability on my behalf because so many negative factors could have happen after I left without any paper proving I brought it back in good standing. I rented 2X in one week and the truck was totally clean, ready, and fine. What WAS NOT FINE is that the two people who work in the small office that you have to enter to give your license and credit card, don't wear masks. One had the mask around her neck and the other had it under his nose. The guy with the mask under his nose also was yelling and cursing and calling the prior customers, "f-in' a-holes" . Very unpleasant and probably embarrassing for the (unmasked) woman who was trying to take care of us. When we came a second time to rent a van, he again was cursing and yelling. Sadly, this man seems to not like any part of his job or life. - - So, the price was fine and the van was fine, but these maskless folks didn't care if they killed us, so I would suggest that you go someplace else.Eve H.

I checked-in and paid for the U-Haul several day's in advance. When I arrived, it took them 45 minutes to get my U-Haul because it wasn't at the location, they did not have a Dolly which I pre-ordered, and no one in the office was wearing a mask. My reservation got changed to a location 49 mins away! When I got to 2nd stop I was told they didn't have any trucks. After much arguing I got a truck. This put my whole day over 2 hours behind and was very upsetting. Most likely won't ever use uhaul again. Not a good experienceSara H.
The office smells like somebody is actively smoking a cigarette, the truck was not even swept out, and, worst of all, not one of the three employees I interacted with was wearing a mask. This made me very uncomfortable and I will not return to this location. Not to mention masks are a legal requirement in PA...Daniel W.

I am in my 60s. So I was disappointed that no one at this uhaul location was wearing a face mask. This is poor business practice. More than one thousand people are dying per day from Covid. The governor of Pennsylvania has mandated masks. It shows a lack of respect and consideration for the customer. I felt that I had to wipe down inside of truck (both front and back). Additionally, the person who put the dollies in the back of truck left them on the wheels, when I picked up. So the dollies were rolling around and making banging noises the whole time I drove home. The location is hard to get in and out of- but that's ok. It was managed.Arjun Y.

the truck had a few issues that were sub par. 1. the ignition key would not turn sometimes. I would turn the wheel hard to the left and right 4 or 5 times while turning the key and it would not turn. Then when you were starting to think you were stuck, it would turn for no reason. Also the right mirror was loose and would not stay where you wanted. I tried to tighten the allen wrench but it would not go either in or out. Every time you shut the passenger door, you had to re-adjust the mirror which I had no passenger so I had to get out and walk around the truck to re-adjust.Vincent C.
drop off was easy. The location is very busy with a lot of traffic. The location is part of a garage. I pulled in but they were busily trying to move cars out. They stopped traffic and directed me to leave the car across the street. As I was locking up and crossing the street-the guy took the key and said I'd get an email after he checks it in.. When I picked up the van, there was a pair of used gloves in the door pocket. Given the current public health circumstances, it was unclear if the van had been disinfected between rentals. I wiped down the steering wheel with a disinfectant wipe and it was filthy. Please do a better job of sanitizing your vehicles to keep everyone safe.Brian C.

Since we are in the midst of a pandemic it would be good if the rental company cleaned the touchable surfaces. There were small drips and minor dirt that made is obvious they don't wipe things down inside the cab. Under normal circumstances, it would not have been considered dirty, but the circumstances are not normal. The touch free return allows you to simply show that the cab is not full of garbage but it is not possible to see if it is clean enough to be sanitary.Christi L.

Nowhere to park our car to pick up the U-haul. Had to walk across a super busy highway to get there once parking at the gas station across the street (because no parking). The staff was very kind but I wish the place was more accessible. Covid related: no one wore a mask which made me uncomfortable. I was wearing a mask and the manager said that masks are stupid and that this is all a hoax. I'm pretty sure it's required by law in PA to wear masks inside an establishment.Katja G.

I am a local business owner and I am very close to this location in BalaCynwyd, its quick pleasant service it may not be much to look at but I am not eating there. They also fix cars so its what it should be. I am Happy w/ that location, what I am not happy about is how the Uhal website pushed my reservation to another location, I had to go back in several times to fix and in the end it still pushed my reservation to another location. Very irritating, triple check location, its almost as though someone is getting a kick back to rig the site.justin H.
I originally had a reservation for 0900 at the 6141 Lancaster Ave, Philadelphia that could not provide my truck due to systems issues. I drove 2 hours to find out they couldn't give me the truck. U-Haul needs to find a manual checkout process in times when eSysrems fail. I was about ready to drive 2 hours home and back the next day until I stopped by Bala and Poncho was able to rent me a truck in the afternoon. Very impressed with Bala but disappointed in Uhaul that I lost half a day of moving due to systems issues.Scott P.
