Location and person was not the problem. The trailer hook up itself was defective. The latch would not maintain adequate friction/ connection to my tow hitch. In fact it came off entirely during towing resulting in the wiring harness being broken. Thankfully this was at low speed or else serious damage to my vehicle and or complete loss of control could have happened.

RICARDO VGot a random text from U-Haul about drop off return time so another family could use the trailer. My contract said 10am return, but that wasn’t an option in the text response offered. I selected the earliest time available which was 1:30 pm. That evening got an email that i was late for my drop off and extra charges might apply and my. Contact was terminated. I dropped it off at contracted location at scheduled time and wasn’t charged extra. No big deal but very confusing and alarming. Hopefully this issue will be corrected. I will use U-Haul again in the future even though they made me feel like I was doing something wrong.
