Instructions made it seem like the key pickup was in the front of the building, not the back of the truck. When I tried calling for help nobody answered. I had to call U-Haul customer service for assistance, and ended up freezing outside for 30 min before getting the keys. The truck was also covered with snow, with no way of pushing it off.

Eric SWorst pick-up experience I've had. The office was in the back of a small retail thrift store. The person who helped me came out wearing socks, no shoes. They brought me into the back office and proceeded to helps me while keeping the TV on and volume up to the show they were watching. The location did NOT have the equipment I reserved. The trailer was there, but the required appliance dolly was not. The person who helped me never apologized for the mess-up and because of the absent equipment, I had to make a second stop at a different U-haul location and was delayed for my scheduled appliance pick-up. This kept my wife waiting and delayed another individual. It also resulted in being directed to two different drop-off locations the next day. Fortunately, U-Haul customer service took care of that issue for me. I'm a big fan of using U-Haul for many of my moving and hauling needs, but this particular location and experience was awful!
Paul PIt would be nice to have actual people to help with this process for the price I paid. I noticed you left that question out. I will rent from Home Depot from here on out.

Edward GAlthough a small, neighborhood outlet store, it met my needs. The owner was extremely helpful in directing me to the right size truck for in town use. Everything went smoothly.
Mike WMy truck wasn't there when I got there. The customer service didn't exist even brought the truck back a day early and still had to pay full price. I would recommend getting trucks at actual U-Haul locations which I tried to do but was moved here
Dylan BHad to come to this location because other location that I reserved can at did not have the van. So this location was not expecting me, and the other store sent me over. But, couldn't find keys to the van, and then I had to jump start the Uhaul with my personal van to use it. I'll probably look to a different company next time I need a moving truck.

Dana ROnline pickup did not work. I was scheduled to pick up at 8am with the drop box but was unable to pick up my rental until after 10am. Would have been a much smoother day had I been able to pick up my rental on time at 8am.

Ben CThe cab floor and the entire trailer floor part of the truck was covered in dried mud. Pretty ridiculous. But what am I supposed to do? Clean off dried mud when I'm moving from state to state with a time crunch? Nah, not worth it at that point. Just super disappointing.

mad cSo, I'm going to point out some charges I was charged. I had about $150 of extra fees on my order. Reviewing the contract I came to find these charges are valid. However, I'm disappointed that my order was changed to a 24/7 pickup order without my requesting it. I was under the impression I was going to be interacting with a human when picking up my vehicle. As a first time renter of a U-Haul I had a few questions a human could have answered. I wasn't giving that chance as my order was changed without my knowledge. This resulted in me not knowing g fuel stipulations. Now, I'm not here to complain about charges as I could have read the contract and been aware of these possible fees. I'm here to let you know I would have appreciated keeping me order as a normal pick up and not a 24/7 pick up as I was expecting to interface with someone as this was my first time renting a u-haul and wanted to be sure I was doing everything right. Turns out I didn't. Not to mention the process of doing the virtual pick up was something I did not want to deal with and was tedious. I had an extremely poor experience with this process and on top of everything I had a very large extra fee that I possibly could have avoided if I had talked to a human on the day I rented. I'm thinking about taking my review to twitter or google as I wish to spare others from what I went through. Had I known what I was getting myself into I would have rented elsewhere.

Julius BWe were told one location on our confirmation and when we arrived at our pickup time, no one was there. So we called the number on the door and were told that we had to go to a completely different location to pick up the truck.

KEVIN KNot the locations issue it drives me crazy that Uhaul ALWAYS gives me a truck with almost no gas and says bring it back with the same amount. This is a terrible policy. Give people the truck with a full tank and charge them if it's not full when they return it and actually go fill it up for the next person.
nathan gI was charged for gas after I had filled it to where it was supposed to be. They didn't walk out and confirm it with me when I returned it and now I got charged $69 for something that I did correctly. Not happy at all.
Cory EThe office could be a bit cleaner and the individual who helped us did not really know what they were doing, but they were friendly and the process was fairly stress-free for being an otherwise stressful day. I would rent from this location again.
Sloan TI paid for 2 dollies and did not receive them on the U-Haul. I spent over an hour on New Year's Day try to contact and find an open U-Haul store so that I could get two dollies that were supposed to be on there. I had to go to an open U-Haul store and pay for them again.
Coral WI picked up and dropped off outside of business hours. Checking in was easy but once I found the truck I ordered it was stuck in the snow. I had to scrape it off and had trouble getting it out of the snow. This was three days after the snow storm so this should've been taken care of by then. The area was not salted and was very icy. I didn't think to check for the equipment I ordered with it as I was so focused on the fact that I was now 45 minutes behind. None of the dolly's that I paid for were with the truck. When returning the truck (after hours) I made a note of this and disagreed with the charges as directed. I still got charged for the dolly's. Normally love Uhaul, and will still use it, just never from this location.

Brendetta MThis really was not the drop off location we had requested. It was about 20 miles out of the way from our requested location and we were charged extra for putting extra miles on the U-Haul.
Austin NMy experience has nothing to do with BHA resale. My DISPLEASURE is with U-Haul. Whenever you make a reservation, it's merely a suggestion. I got called 2 days before my rental (reservation made over a month before!!) and was told my truck was to be picked up 80 miles away....yes, 80 miles away. I refused as this is absurd to make me go 80 miles, pick up a truck, drive 80 miles back to where I had originally scheduled to pick up the truck. Uhaul refused to have one of their employees drive the truck to where I had reserved it. After much complaining on my end and multiple phone calls, a truck magically appeared in the city where I wanted it. Uhaul is a TERRIBLE company and the only reason why it's still in business is there aren't many other choices. I will avoid Uhaul at ALL costss.
