I admit I was late dropping the truck off but I called to tell them I wasn't going to make the drop off time. I got a call back from a rude man telling me I was going to get charged more, which is completely understandable and expected but he then told me They would have people out looking for the truck and they'd tow it if they found us. It was like I was a criminal, I called and told them I would be late. I have crippling anxiety and he made a terrible situation worse for me. I had a terrible anxiety attack while trying to move my things as quickly as I could, worrying someone was going to stop me and take the truck with my things, which would of course first me much more money.

This location was ok, but I will never rent from U Haul again. I was confirmed for a U Haul for June 30th at 7 am, and on June 29th the Irondiquoit NY location called me and said that I couldn’t have my U Haul until 2:30 on June 30th. I had movers coming on the 30th at 8 am. She didn’t care and said she couldn’t help me. I had to drive to the above location which was 45 minutes from my home.

Listening better. Between my daughter and I we told the lady that we would be returning the transporter on Monday bc we wouldn’t complete our trip within 24hrs. On the ride back from our pick up U-Haul was calling us asking where our rental was and informed us our contract was only set for 24hrs.

We needed just a cargo van and ended up signing up for a 10 ft truck because there were no vans available at the location, then they shifted us to a 15 ft van "at no extra charge" but really, paying for the gas for something that much larger than we needed IS an extra charge.

the truck was clean the staff was nice but the truck got stuck on a hill parellel parked behind another vehicle sluggish shifting would stick in gear and refuse to shift up terrible experience next time im renting elsewhere at least by uhaul standards bsb equipment is one of the few places i rent equipment and uhaul is tarnishing their buisness

This was a good experience in all aspects. The owners of the operation were very helpful. Phelps NY is a small town and this surpassed my expectations. There as well as at turn in at the Belmont location in Worcester MA. Good experience at both ends of this one way rental.

The check out process was very slow as the woman there did not type very well and it was all computerized. When I arrived she was in the middle of typing something else and asked me to wait. Again....she typed with one finger!

The call center should have called to let us know where the truck rental would take place. There was no call or email from Uhaul. I had to call Friday, the day before to find out location. They also added over 30 miles to our total miles. Not very happy with the overall experience. When we buy a house, we will have to seriously consider using Uhaul again.

I let them know the truck needed a front end alignment. I didn't know until I got to my location that there were NO moving blankets or straps in the truck. Had I known, I would have gotten them. I gave all my information over the phone the day before my rental, yet when I picked up the truck I spent about a half hour answering all the same questions. I couldn't have the truck for a full 24 hours!

BSB Equipment Rentals Inc in Phelps, NY is outstanding!! Bill went above and beyond to assist me with my trailer rental, which he did not need to do. I showed up with the wrong size ball hitch and he swapped it over for me, also made a repair to my vehicle wire plug so that everything would we working correctly. He did not ask for anything in return, however I did pay him for his time and help. He truly went above and beyond for me and my trailer rental needs! I recommend BSB rentals very highly to everyone in the area. Thank you!

The equipment was not previously inspected. The rim on the trailer was bent horribly making it unsafe for travel. Had to have the UHaul Road Side Assistance come out at 10:30 pm from an hour and a half away in the pouring rain to fix this. The repair man was ASTONISHED someone would let the trailer go out in that condition. They wanted to know who the rental place was that allowed that. The repairman was very disturbed. Felt that the rental place had no cares about the individual renting and or others lives that could have been impacted if there was an accident. Thank god there was not! Sue from the rental place never apologized and was rude when we asked about compensation due to delaying our plans. Not to mention the rental place was FILTHY, unorganized, had equipment all over the place and a dog running around.

Wish there were more tiedown rings inside along the top and bottom. Also perhaps a note somewhere to remind drivers that they are towing a trailer and have to allow much more space after passing a car. My wife almost got hit yesterday by a driver towing a UHaul who turned into her lane much too soon.

The local agents were excellent. They worked hard to solve an availability issue. I had called the corporate 800 number and they were of no help to me. The prevalent comment was ' There is nothing that I can do to help you. Sorry. ' I was very disappointed.

When I put in a reservation online, I shouldn't be forced to accept the location that calls me with a truck. For one, the location was further out by 20 miles, and second, j requested a 24 foot truck, and got a 16 foot truck. It was not large enough to fit what I needed but because the place was too far to continue adding miles, I couldn't utilize it the way I should be. I will never use uhaul again. It is a waste of my money and time. It would've been faster and cheaper to use a pickup truck. The only reason uhaul is worth the cost is because you can make it jn one load,however since I could not get the truck size I requested, I couldn't make one trip. Terrible Terrible process..as a customer I should be able to request the size truck and uhaul should make that truck appear at the closest location, not the other way around.

No one was prepared for my arrival. I waited for 15mins and then a line formed behind me as it took another 15 to get my information slowly in putted. The place itself was dirty and cluttered, I couldn't find supplies I needed.

It took 45 minutes to get my uhaul soley because the guy had no idea how to work the computer to the point that he had to call his wife and have her on speaker phone, explain step by step how to complete the form. .99 per mile when I had to drive 40 round trip outta my way to getthe truck, ridicridiculous!

The location wasn't the problem it was the fact that Uhual changed my plan and pickup location. I was under the impression when you reserve a vehicle its meant to be for the whole day. Apparently I got a rental for 6 hours which was not enough time to move an entire house. I tried calling and discussing my issues and was told it was my fault and should have said I needed it all day. I honestly don't think that is acceptable. Who wastes money on a rental for part of the day, it's a waste of money. Overall experience with U haul 2 out of 10. Horrible customer service. They were rude to myself and my wife.

This was not our original pick up location. I reserved a 20 foot truck at Henrietta U Haul, but was then sent to a Boost Mobile location about 10 miles away. At this location they had a 12 foot truck available. We had to drive over 30 miles out of our way to BSB equipment rental to get a larger truck, seriously setting us back.

have management more eager to help someone who is need of help. my experience with two of the 4 u-hale stores made it very hard for me to ever use u-hal again. I know I had to drive over 100 miles in new york to try to locate the equipment i finally got. most of the time they where sending me to places that did not have what I was told they had. Direction where given that where not right , not sure if it was a joke or it is how they work.Not to funny. I reported it to spencer port location and he notified the area manager .Spencer point manager "al" was professional; very helpful. the rest , not as much. It took all day to locate and the price 1900 quoted ended up 2400. I had to take it they had me in a spot. I could go on but I do not think it really truly madders to you.

Be more customer friendly rather than acting as if it was a burden to assist a customer with picking up. I did the express check-in prior to pickup, I still had to submit my license and be asked the same questions over again. Also check-in time was lengthy. I reserved the truck a week prior to the pickup date, however I was not notified until the afternoon before with a location that was an hour from where I needed to load the truck for the move. As a result I was forced to pay at my own expense for fuel at 8.8 MPG and additional mileage as I was over the allowed amount. Also when I made the reservation I elected to hire a moving company assist in unloading at the delivery location. They called me the day after I made the reservation and requested a time to be at my house. I was not able to inform them with the time until the afternoon prior to the day I needed them as UHAUL would not provide confirmation of time and location until the afternoon prior to pickup. Luckily the moving company was excellent and flexible with scheduling to coordinate with the timing of my moving efforts. After my experience I will never rent from UHAUL again.

My pickup location changed several times..even on the day that I was to pick the truck up. That left me a bit concerned as to whether there would be an order for me when I arrived in Phelps. The woman in Phelps called me (as well as in Geneva) to ask if I was still planning on getting the truck that day, and that call meant the world, just knowing that it was going to happen. It went wonderfully, and I would like to use U-Haul in the future. Thank you!

Your online reservation process is extremely misleading. I had reserved a 17' truck to pick up in Penn Yan, NY (which was most convenient for me and only 1 mile away; I was picking up out of state). I was notified the day before pick up that I had to pick up at a different location (30 miles away). Plus they didn't have a 17' truck and ended up with a 26' truck (although for the same price which I appreciated). In the end I had to pay for an extra 70 miles which included going out of my way to a different pick up location. I made no other changes in my route. This could be borderline fraud. This is not a reflection of the pick up location but more of a process problem with your company.
