Staff was pleasant and helpful. Plenty of room to park. Drop-off was easy. This was the first positive experience I had with U-Haul in the 2 days I utilized the company. 3 previous encounters were all frustrating and fraught with errors.

I had trouble on the website to complete reservation. Lost the screen when I was reviewing agreements for truck rental. Contacted the office and the person I spoke to was pleasant and quite helpful in completing the reservation. Staff were great!

I was charged for SafeMove insurance that I was not made aware of as being part of my contract before I was asked to sign it. I think that whether or not I have the insurance should be MY choice and not clandestinely included without my knowledge. Over 13% of my charges were from this insurance which was charged as if it were a mandatory part of the rental. As accommodating and friendly as the agent was, and as much as I WOULD send business their way because of those things, I would recommend to anyone renting there to SPECIFICALLY and METICULOUSLY go through the charges before signing, to avoid being scammed by them into paying for something that you might not want. Upon being asked about the charge after the fact when the final bill was emailed to me, the agent made the comment that one would have to be crazy or careless not to have chosen the coverage, so they just add it without disclosing it under the assumption that you wouldn't do something so "ill-advised." He made it seem that it would have been a "hassle" to sign a whole other paper declining the insurance, so it's not even brought up. I'm certain that that's a form of fraud and/or extortion. It's a hidden cost that, I'm sure, U-Haul wouldn't be happy to know that their representatives/agents are perpetrating. I'd be surprised if I were to find out that the corporation trains their agents to routinely do this. If you want the coverage, then that's great, and nobody would fault you for that or argue it, but you should have the option of refusing it if you're willing to take the risk. At the very least, it should be YOUR choice, not the agent's. Otherwise, the rental went smoothly and with no complications. They are very nice people there, and they take very good care of their equipment.

The truck was dirty but the back was clean. The gentleman at the counter was very pleasant and helpful. The issue I have is more with uhaul's prices which I think are outrageous. I will not be using uhaul again if I need moving help because it is so overpriced its insane. To make me pay that much for the rental, AND throw a mileage charge that high on top, AND make me pay for fuel is ridiculous. It doesn't help that you don't offer any kind of discount for military veterans either, which lets me know what type of corporate greed I'm dealing with when I deal with uhaul.

Paul Edinger was very accommodating and very helpful with assisting me to hook up the 6x12 trailer that I rented for the weekend of 10/5. Also, I had ordered a 5 x 8 trailer and the young lady I spoke to was able to get me into a larger trailer for the price of a 5 x 8. There were no 5 x 8 trailers available. The whole process of signing up took too much time. I had to repeat my address and phone # 3 times. When the location I wanted didn't have the item I wanted I was slated for a pick up 35 minutes away. later I identified a more convenient place and called up to reschedule my location. Yet the day before I find out my pick up place was still 35 minutes away. I called and was able to identify a place only 5 minutes away from my preferred place. In all I made 6-7 calls to get things arranged to my satisfaction.

When originally calling the WInd Gap location on Sullivan Trail I was advised $39.95 for the trip plus mileage rate charges. I was NOT advised that I would be called to pick up at another location and I was allowed at no extra fee to return to Effort, PA location. Then on Thursday I received a call not to go to WInd Gap rather Stroudsburg not within my original hours anticipated to work around my job and that 50 free miles were included. So, now when I showed up to pay I was out approx. $150 not $39.95 plus mileage. You need to better educate the WInd Gap office because this expense far exceeded what I was told in my original confirmation. I had no choice but to rent this vehiicle for my needs and the Stroudsburg office was amazingly nice about the entire transition and apologized for the wrong info but they never presented the wrong info. I would use them in the future BUT NOT Wind Gap.

I schedule a pick up at a different location but then had to drive 30mins to a different location to get my uhaul, plus change my time that I had scheduled. What I should do instead of having your customer drive far out they why. Have one of your worker delivery a Uhaul to the customer distance. This was the worst experience I ever had.

I made my reservation 6 weeks before I needed the 20 foot moving truck. Three days before I was scheduled to pick up the moving truck I get an email and voicemail saying they can no longer accommodate my reservation. They tell me that I can be "accommodated" at another location which was 8 miles out of the way. So not only did I have to pay for extra mileage and gas I was sent completely out of my way and U-Haul could have cared LESS. Amika was very rude and unprofessional when I called about my reservation twice! She was not helpful at all and did not have any regard for how inconvenient this was for me. Her excuse was that someone else who used the truck before me dropped it off at a different location. So I was the one who had to suffer the consequences of someone else's actions? Some how that does not seem right to me. You talk all about how your company keeps your promises. I will NEVER use this company again nor will I EVER recommend this company to any of my friends or family members. I am very disappointed with my experience and will be seeking the appropriate actions to make sure my voice is heard. I have used U-Haul every single time I have moved and I get more and more disappointed every time. I AM DONE and will be reporting you to the Better Business Bureau. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!
