This is a country location that doubles as a store. Extremely nice person met me at the door and we talked for a few minutes. I did have to drive 25 minutes out of the way to get here but it was a nice drive and it looks like he serves his community with pride

mark wethingtonThe check engine light came on 2 miles after picking up the truck, the steering was also loose. Also there was a smaller box truck on the yard close in size to the 10 ft I had requested but the only thing that came up was 20 ft at this location as an alternate vehicle. I don't know if the point is to get more money but it should show all the vehicles on the yard so that you can make the best decision. I do love that it is a 24 hour rental where you can order and pickup through your phone. Unfortunately if it is your first time you might want to run through the process before getting there and having to stand outside waiting for it to connect for someone to authorize your approval. No fun standing in the dark doing the process. All in all I would use this service again beside it was a God send since it was the only available on a Saturday after 4pm.
Brandi RobbinsThe owner fixed the tow chains added missing chains and the trailer needed two new tires, two will not pass state inspection, but I had to tow that day! I oiled the strap ratchets being they were so rusty they wouldn't work properly.

VAUGHN RANSOMWhen I placed my order, I ordered a king and queen mattress protector in my order. From everything I can see, when my pick up location was changed to here from the downtown Norfolk location (which added 1,5 hours one way from my initial pickup location, totalling a 3 hour round trip to pick up my truck) the Carter's U-Haul intentionally dropped the mattress protectors off my contract. They then charged me separately at 3x the rate for what the U-Haul website charges.

Richard Wardlow JrHave vehicles and trailers that work properly. The guy took the fuse for the truck horn and made it for the trailer break lights. I had to drive from Virginia to Florida with no horn and no night time running lights on the trailer. On top of that, the trucks breaks was going out and the ABS light came on as I was driving down the highway and not pushing on the breaks.

Shelby Scott1. We had made a reservation at a local location and U-Haul changed it WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION 2. It was an hour away from us so we had to drive TWO ADDITIONAL HOURS 3. We found out the morning of so otw we changed it to a 20' since that location showed it had one 4. Once at this new location we were informed it was not a location with a 20' 5. On top of this they changed the reservation in their system AGAIN TO ANOTHER PLACE 6. We were had to use our mileage for that extra driving 7. We at no time we're apologized to or offered a discount 8. We will be needing another truck on Thursday the 26th and I certainly hope we are offered either a free rental or HUGE DISCOUNT. 9. The check engine light was on so that was concerning! 10. The location had smoking inside premises so stunk!

Shelia AllenOrginally when I reserved the truck all was fine, until I found out the reservation had been canceled for what reason I never found out unless it had to do with the location I was to pick up at was closed down and wouldn't be open f ou r another month. Then I was told to pick up the truck from one location an hour from my house the pick up the 6x12 trailer at another location and th had was choice #1 choice #2 was I could go elsewhere some a rental truck that was told to me by one of your customer service reps. But then a light from a gentleman from Hobbsville went above and beyond to get both truck and trailer at the same location 10 minutes from our house. He was kind and patient we had delays in our closing fire our house and sometimes when people move its stressful but when you can get a little understanding from a person that doesn't know you it helps...it really helps. So my opinion is your call center people need to be more empathetic this is real life moves and sometimes when people are nice it goes along ways especially when its expected from a large company that's been in business as long as Uhaul.

I called the help number after leaving to a location with a better signal, 12 minutes. I got someone who gave us another number for help.

earnest carilaWhen I placed my order for a 10' U-Haul i was to pick it up in Hertford, NC. The Hertford dealer did not have the truck and located it in Hobbsville, NC: 30 miles away. We had to drive an additional 60 miles to obtain the truck and do it in record time since closing time was rapidly approaching. Carter Corners did send me voice mails, which I missed, and did stay open until we arrived. I wish U-Haul had so advised me when U-Haul knew the truck would not be in Hertford but rather Hobbsville. Carter Corners personnel did add free mileage to our contract in light of the extra distance we had not planned upon. Kudoos to them.
