Greg at Cary Moving went out of his way to set up the lighting for our trailer when we were unable to do so ourselves. This came in the wake of U-Haul changing my pickup site less than 48 hours before pickup, away from a U-Haul specific site that promised fixes in the event something went wrong with the trailer/hookup (lights, for example...). Greg absolutely did not have to help us (especially since he was not contracted to do so!) and we were so, so grateful for his kindness. I would highly recommend his business and services to anyone in the Triangle region of NC -- he's truly a class act, and really saved our move. As for U-Haul itself, I'm very disappointed. Again, my pickup site was changed less than 48 hours before scheduled pickup, and they offered little help in the wake of the issues with my lighting. I specifically picked a U-Haul moving and storage center because I had never towed a trailer, and they advertised on-the-spot review/fixes in the event of any issues with trailers. Once my site was changed I even called to confirm the new site would do the same; despite the fact that a U-Haul customer service rep told me they would, this is clearly not a service provided at a 3rd party site such as Cary Moving. Before Greg at Cary Moving offered to help, I was told by 2 U-Haul sites in the region (including the one I originally booked at) that "no technician was available on Saturday", so they were unable to help -- this is NOT how you run a service business! If it wasn't for Greg going out of his way to help us, we would have been stranded in North Carolina with no lights on our trailer, forced to delay our move by 2+ days until we could get into a U-Haul service center. This is unacceptable from U-Haul. Again, Greg and Cary Moving are all-stars, and I cannot recommend them highly enough; they are truly great people with an excellent business and ethos. Next time, I'd work directly through their business instead of risking another U-Haul disappointment.

John M.The truck was not ready at my scheduled pick up time of 6:45. The agent Kim then changed it to the 24/7 but did it incorrectly thus when I got the Uhaul 24/7 app would not work. Called customer service had to wait for 1 hour 45 minutes to get through for them to only tell me they could not help. I was not able to pick up my truck on 6/13 had to come back on 6/14 when the office was open for the reps to tell me the app sometimes doesnt work. Then it should not be suggested for use . Owed $50 credit

Chris M.The 6 X 12 trailer had a gas smell when we opened it. It seems like someone had either equipment with gas or a gas can in the back of the trailer. We left the doors open for a while before loaded and it helped some.
jay H.My experience with U-haul this time started out badly. Fortunately U-haul employees listened to me, understood the problem and did what they could to make me happy. I've used U-haul before and will again, although I will always make sure the tail gate on the rental pickup works.

paul M.Avoid this location (500 E. Chatham Cary, NC) at all costs! Ripped me off on level of tank "fullness" when I returned. I traveled 81 miles total 70 % if it was highway mileage. I put 7 gallons and they charged me 6 more gallons worth at a inflationary rate- 13 gallons to go 81miles!!! Also when I opened the truck at my initial destination the floor had quite a bit of dried mud/ dirt that I had to sweep out! Terrible franchise! Will never ever deal with and you shouldn't either

Chris R.Clean the vehicles and act like you have some remorse when an issue that could have injured someone is brought to your attention. The entire floor of a 26' truck cab was covered in oil and when I told the representative about it and how the movers I hired through U-Haul were visibly sliding down the truck ramp because their shoes were greasy, I got an “Oh, ok.†and was moved along like it didn't matter. So we had to clean the floor ourselves while U-Haul will be the first to dock and charge you for unfolded furniture blankets or not enough gas in a rental at exorbitant prices. But the fact that my original truck reservation was canceled two days before an entire house move with no communication or recompense is ridiculous. There is no stock in customer satisfaction, apparently. And then this atrocity with the oily floor. I'm just another buck for some wealthy shmuck. Just shameful.

David S.The location crew is top notch. The truck, however, was pretty ragged. For 45 miles for almost $90, the truck should not have a passenger door that is hard to open or an engine that needs a tube up. All said, I'm reasonably happy with the transaction and will return to this location again.

richard O.The guy who hooked up the trailer didn't tighten the trailer to the ball on my receiver hitch and it literally fell off. Then when I had the trailer was loaded and I drove to my destination I didn't make it very far before it started swaying really badly. I did notice that the trailer tires were very old. One was going flat. I had to stay in a hotel overnight due to your improper equipment maintenance.
