The front desk staff person was always friendly and helpful. But I did have several issues that could not and were not fully satisfied. I rented a regular unit then decided my important things probably needed to be in climate control area since it was all I had left of my home and life. At one point, I stopped by on a Sunday to get some critical paperwork for selling my home. There was a lock on my unit for non-payment - which turned out to be on there illegally (as I was paying through autopay). It was inconvenient because it was Sunday (the only day I could make it to the unit to retrieve the needed documents. The only day the office is not open at all on Sundays. So I had to have someone go through all my docs on Monday and it delayed business I needed to have done as well as inconvenienced others and allowed them to see any docs they might have wanted to. Lastly - I finally made it to the unit in September only to find mold growing on several things and my boxes collapsing on them selves. When I contacted the manager - he stated I must have moved into the unit on a rainy day (remember this is more money for climate control unit) I responded that it had not been raining. I had sent pics but He then wanted to see for himself. I could not make this happen as I could not return to let him in. Not everyone lives close to their storage or has the ability to go during office hours. This was my situation. When I did move my things out this last weekend - my wooden furnishings, cloth items and piano - ALL had mold. A box of papers which sat on the concrete floor - was completely saturated and molded on the bottom. This things inside it were ruined (and not replaceable). SO while I answered yes to all the pre-generated questions on this review - No I would not recommend this storage facility to a friend.Darla D. | Expérience générale
They did not seem to interested to review the truck return and told me to leave the keys on the desk. I had to call them 4 hrs later to get my final receipt. They were nice but not much on customer service.Jose C.

I reserved furniture blankets and a dolly. NONE available when I picked up the truck. Why didn't someone CALL me so I didn't have to run around at the last minute spending hundreds of dollars on equipment you promised to rent me?? Also, a day or so before my rental, I was notified my rental location had changed from Youngs Tobacco to Central Storage. So I called Youngs about the furniture blankets and they refused to give them to me since I was a one way rental. Very rude too.Laura C.

I had to cancel my rental due to a family emergency, so I called customer service. I was told my transaction would be canceled and I wouldn't be charged. I checked my bank account and saw I was charged anyway. I sent emails requesting a refund...nothing. Called customer service again...they disconnected from my call - TWICE! - so now I'm leaving a negative review and I'll blast on all social media that U-Haul basically stole money from me and made no attempt to resolve my request.STEPHANIE B.
I only had the truck for about 30 minutes, and didn't mive anything, but still got charged for a full day. I had a family emergency. I wouldn't have minded a small charge, but nit the full fee.BEAU M.

The location service was fine. What was completely disappointing was U-Haul's phone customer service, technical support and reservation system. The U-Haul iPhone app would never show my reservation/order. Tech support's only comment was "it does that sometimes". Multiple calls to customer service resulted in long (>20 minute) hold times and 4 disconnected/dropped calls. Also, while my reservation included 3 dozen packing blankets, none were available at the site (or any other U-Haul site in the area) when I picked up the truck. The person at the site said they haven't had any for several months. This made furniture loading a real problem.John E.

This place is all about a dollar. They lied about the gas add extra charge. Good thing I took a picture to prove that we put the gas back in the truck. Where is it where people look take of each other not take from them. Just saidNiketa L.

The car dolly that was rented was in poor condition. When the U-Haul Van was rented the gas gage was on E and the gas gage light was on, I had to put gas in the tank before I could even load the van. The person that rented the van told me that I would receive a rebate if I returned the van with more than a quarter tank of gas in the amount of $47. This was not the case. I tried to explain this to the agent where I returned the van, with almost a half tank of gas, but he refused to honor what I was told. I had to contact corporate office. They finally told me I would get the $47, but in reality, I only receive $20 dollars back. The chains on the car dolly came loose while we were traveling because of the poor equipment, this could have caused an accident. I was treated very poorly by the agents I talked with at the place I returned the van and by the people on the phone when I called corporate. I am extremely disappointed and will probably never us U-Haul again.Terry I.

The employee was trying to leave early and was hesitant to accommodate me I had to do everything online because no one would answer the phone at the location. The rental was dirty and had no air conditioning. Which was miserable almost unbearable for my elderly mother causing the move to take much longer than anticipated. The driver's visor was broken therefore hitting me in the head Everytime I made a turn. The whole experience was terrible and I was very disappointed because I've always had good experiences with U-Haul.KIMBERLY H.

AC give up after driving few miles. AC was out for most of the drive about 60 miles, it was very hot! Finally had to stop because couldn't handle the heat, took a 20 minutes break then started driving again and suddenly the AC started it working again.Juan R.

Uhaul double booked my trailer so this location tried to get me to drive to Beaumont (30 minutes) to get what I needed. After I said ,"that won't work"they offered me a larger trailer at no extra cost. That option should have been given first. This location also gave me the wrong truck initially- I caught the error because the gas gauge didn't match the contract. Double booking should NOT happen. That practice should cease and if errors occur, the customer's needs should be first.Alicia H.

This location was great. However, they changed it because the original location I had chosen, which was closer to my house, didn't have the size truck I needed. Then they changed my pick-up time, drop-off time and the way we could get the truck. That caused a lot more of a headache than moving already is. The app and website are extremely unreliable.KELLY G.

We were initially scheduled at 1145 Gulfway Drive at D&D automotive but the owner did not show up and would not let us take the trailer even though it was paid for. We called U-Haul and were rerouted to the Ridgewood location and received excellent service as expected. We were telling of what happened and the receptionist knew the problem location by name and the customer in the lobby also had a previous bad experience with that owner!! My question is why isn't U-Haul doing something about this lack of service that is obviously well known in the area?Gregory R.
