Upon returning the equipment, the man checking it in tried to blame me for previous damage done to the vehicle that I specifically pointed out to the clerk on the day of rental. They did not mark it, they did not verify anything and had incorrect information in the system that they had changed themselves. After arguing that their photos from before the rental would show the damage it was discovered that they were old photos and new ones had not been taken since before another damaged area on the truck that they did say was there before. While uhaul is not a bad company to go through, this particular location leaves something to be desired. Trying to make someone pay on the spot for previous damage is unacceptable.

I made reservations at one location which was a true U-Haul dealer! I was sent an email one hour prior to my pickup date to go to another location and pickup a truck! This dealer did not have a clue as he was a convenience store clerk who could speak English. Took me an hour to get the truck and the only reason I got it is I called customer service who was awful, than got a regional manger who was awesome and got me out in 5 min! First we should pick up the truck where we reserved it which is closer to our house, second a reservation should have all the information needed to drive away except ID verification! Third, nobody should be allowed to rent U-Haul trucks without knowledge of how to do so! U-Haul doesn’t check their vendors or subvenders for quality control! I also was told where to drop the truck off and it was not the closet U-Haul dealer to my new house! The nearest dealer was one mile from my new home and I had to travel ten miles thru traffic to a location off a back street where I was not familiar with the streets or city! I hope U-Haul will respond to theses issues and make moving a more efficient and enjoyable experience! I will not recommend U-Haul to anyone unless I hear back from a U-Haul representative. It took 1.5 hours to check out the item and that was after the advance check in process. Cashier was attending to convenience store customers and I at the same time. Cashier was not familiar with the process, could not give me information on how to safely attach trailer to my vehicle or help attach it. Horrible experience, do not use this location for your rental!

Put gas in your trucks. Over an hour was spent figuring out how to rent at this location. I have rented from U-Haul locations in the past with no problems. This was an awful experience.

Filled out the rental information prior to arriving. Rental agent had to startup his laptop, log in, etc.... Seemed like this shouldn’t take so long, but it was located at a convenience store. He was the only person there so I was shown which trailer was mine and left to inspect and connect everything. I’m perfectly capable of doing this but I would’ve appreciated a little help backing the hitch up since it’s your largest trailer and they don’t maneuver easily by hand.

The employee couldn’t get the car off the dolly, so they called roadside assistance and left when the store closed, leaving my husband to sit in the parking lot until help arrived hours later.

I rented a 26 foot truck, reserving it along with an appliance dolly and furniture blankets 2 weeks prior to the move. My reservation was confirmed immediately. A nice experience up front. I do have several complaints, however. Complaint 1: 3 days prior to the reservation date I received an email stating that, "Due to high demand in the area, we will contact you 1 day(s) before your pick up date to schedule your exact location and time." What is the point of a reservation if it doesn't actually reserve a truck? In the end I was able to get a truck at a less convenient location. I inquired about having the truck that was available moved to the closer location - I think the inconvenience and extra mileage cost should be born by Uhaul, not by me. I got up an hour earlier and drove a bit further. Complaint 2: The pickup location was "Circle A Tobacco and Beer," a serviceable former gas station. The sign out front says "Parade" without a visible indication of the actual business name. This was an unfamiliar neighborhood for me so I wasn't confident I was at the right place. A large Uhaul truck was parked right out front so I figured that was the place but it should be marked appropriately. Complaint 3: The truck was perfectly functional but hadn't been cleaned at all; there was sand in the cab and back. A half-empty water bottle was in the cab and there was a sticky spill on the floor of the cab. Another bottle in the back was filled with a dubious looking liquid and cigarette butts. High ick-factor for this rental. In addition, the gas tank was a bit less full than indicated on the paperwork. Complaint 4: The proprietor was there when I arrived at 7 AM even though the place didn't open until 8 - brownie points for him on that one. He didn't have the appliance dolly or blankets I'd reserved. He was nice about it but I would have preferred to have the equipment. Summary: You've got a decent web interface and the folks I spoke with on the phone were courteous and helpful. The last-minute location change was annoying and inconvenient. The sketchy rental location tolerable but signage matching the vendor name would be appreciated. Not getting all the equipment I requested is not acceptable.

there was only one employee at the Beer and Tobacco city and even though I had made my reservation a week in advance, and I received a text the day before confirming my pick up time, I had to wait in between beer customers to get my paperwork done and then I had no help hooking up. Why provide a pick-up time if you are not going to be ready for me? The trailer was filthy with mud all over it. I was embarrassed to be hooked to it so, I took it to a car wash and washed the mud off. I was very pleased with the price of the trailer and the performance of the trailer. -- I would recommend UHaul, just not the Tobacco and Beer City location.

The Gentleman did not understand the questions I was asking. He could not or would not give me a receipt and I have to have it to prove the UHAUL was paid for. I give this drop off experience a 5 because althought he met the bare minimum to get the job completed, he lacked understand and did not know how to help the customer. He even tried to argue with me when I requested a receipt.
