Same problem; I requested drop off at Downs Automotive but due to your great customer service, they changed it to Seaford, DE! This location is about a 35 minutes drive from my home! Was U-Haul going to pay for the time it would take me to drive there and home plus the gas.it would cost??? Why should anyone use your on line reservations, WHEN ALL YOU DO IS CHANGE THEM!!!! When I went to Downs Automotive, they were very helpfully and had the drop off site changed to them.

Any time I had to deal with corporate UHaul, it was a debacle. The place I picked up the trailer from made mention of a customer they just received that UHaul Corporate told them 3 different places to retrieve a trailer from. Took those customers almost 3 hours to chase a trailer down because the UHaul Corporate had no idea where a trailer was or who had one. My experience with this move, I got a drop off point close to my house (Self Storage off of Mathis Ferry Road) to be told you can’t drop it here. The owner of the facility made a point to explain to me how he was over booked. Asked me where I would put the trailer. I’d actually walked the lot and pointed out a spot where it could be parked. The owner of the facility was having none of it. Told me it was not gonna happen. Even though there were multiple spots where the trailer could have been dropped “not gonna happen.”. UHaul Corporate then told me to drive about 10 miles to another place (the 3852 Rivers Ave address). That drive took an hour. Yes, there is traffic and it takes a long time. All of it unnecessary because there were spots at the first location but the owner of that facility could not be bothered. When I dropped the trailer, the lady at the Rivers Ave facility made mention that UHaul Corporate was behind picking up trailers at that facility as well. Given the run around UHaul Corporate gives people picking up trailers and getting them dropped off.......there is no reason to use your company any more. They just want the contract signed and then......you will be forced to deal with Corporate’s incompetence. It is very clear Corporate has no interest in 1) helping their site deal with inventory 2) that directly effects the customer. UHaul Corporate, this is addressed to you. Not to either the sites (Downs or Phillys). You will send people on goose chases to multiple locations because honey have no understanding of your pick or drop off sites’ inventory or condition. It is clear as a bell you could give a tinkers d*#n about convenience or the customers’ situation. I missed Physicians appointment because the place I was supposed to drop the trailer (5 minutes away) “was too full” when it was clear there was room to drop a trailer. You need to get off of your collective asses (drag the area supervisor by the scruff of his/her neck) and have them look at how full their inventories are and ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM!!!!! It’s clear you guys do not care about the problems on the local end and you leave the sites to deal the problems. Corporate’s behavior here is e.m.b.a.r.r.a.s.s.i.n.g. I will not use UHaul again. There are waaaay too many alternatives in self moving to deal with the nonsense you guys think it’s cool to dump on sites and customers. Your entire corporate team desperately needs a foot buried deep in your collective back side.
