Customer service: pick up time is 0800hrs, employee walks in at 0805hrs, doors open at 0807hrs. Employee looks at me and goes WHAT? WHAT? , I try to explain to that I have several timings I need to meet. I ask what was his name? His answer? "It's none of your Business". This employee needs some serious remedial training, very rude, a bully and very unprofessional. I have never witnessed anything like this before. If I were his manager, he you've been fired on the spot! I will never recommend this location to anyone who needs a "Buisness" like that. As I write this, I still can't believe the level of unprofessionalism that was displayed this morning...it is simply shocking.Martin G.

Trailer was not swept out when I picked it up. The attendant that checked me out was very good. The attendant that checked me in was not helpful at all. I carried all the blankets 2packs along with the 4 wheel dolly into the office myself no assistance. I put a dinning room cabinet in the trailer top and bottom piece. The attendant charger me $15 for clean out when I mentioned all I out in was two pieces of wood furniture his additude was unacceptable he said its done I charged u for clean out I deal with people like u everyday u signed a contract. If I made a mess in the trailer I would have cleaned it. There was no need for this charge. I would not recommend this location to anyone just because of the checkin attendant who was rude and had additive. Having said that the guy who checked me out was excellent.greg M.

Truck stalled twice when being use. Once at a stop sign, second when I was driving at 60KM/H. both times oil light came on first and a second or two later the engine died. informed the staff, response was: that's the one only use for local usage. I was given almost 1/8th of the tank and was told to return back 1/4th fuel tank. However, i got the $15 credit which was not enough for that fuel. Moreover, I already raised this concern while truck drop off, but no one bothered to call even!Lokesh V.

The location and/or management can improve by not lying to me that I'm fine to return the truck with the same amount of fuel but then charge me $30 as a â€œfuel service feeâ€ and then call me a liar based on unrealistic evidence when I dispute the charge. I rented a motorcycle trailer and it was the perfect size, well maintained, and light enough to be pulled behind a small crossover SUV.Doug J.
No onsite assistance for returns. I couldn't lift the trailer off the truck because the trailer tongue was too heavy for a one person lift. I had to call a friend to come and help. Cost me an hour.Norman W.

Mobile pick up was aweful. Photos shown to review for damagw where old as new, already marked damages where present, told to pick up the key from the attendant anyway (who was not present, had to wait some time until she returned which cut in to our rental time and delayed our engagements that day) and only 1/4 tank at pick up. Return was alright but no details where asked when i indicated that dashboard light had turned on during my use. Check engine light had turned on on our return. Hope someone will actually investigate before the next family remnts this vehicle.Dominic G.

Do not charge a $25 cleaning fee unless there is a reason. I guarantee that the truck I rented was exactly as clean as I got it when I returned it 3x hours and 60km later. Nonetheless I was charged $25 for a "cleaning". For what? I moved a brand new washer and drier still in their boxes. In the future I will go to another location.DAVID-FRANCISB O V.

I have 2 charges on my credit card. The first made at pick up, for the full price of service plus what I assume to be a deposit of some sort? And the second at drop off for half the price of the service I rented. I have no idea what these charges both signify. I'm sure I could figure it out if I read through all the paperwork again, but at u-haul in the past every charge was verbally explained to me so I knew exactly what I was paying for. Feeling kind of frustrated that when i booked online I was told my total would be $78 and so far I have been charged $98 and another $45. The equipment, however, was in good repair and worked well.Charlotte P.

It seemed that UHaul took every step possible to ensure I had the most miserable and painful time during my move. I am a recent university grad moving for her first job across the country and it's my first time moving; I felt that I was taken advantage of and treated like garbage. I had better customer service from provincial registry offices! Which, if you don't know, is horrendous. I took EVERY possible precautionary step to ensure my move would be stress-free. It was not due to things out of my control (i.e., because of UHaul). Here's a list of everything UHaul did to deserve a negative 100-star rating from me. 1. I booked my Uhaul truck TWO MONTHS in advance online (as soon as I got my start date for my new job). Four weeks before my pick-up date, I called to check if I needed to get my car fitted for the trailer as my car was not on the drop-down list (I had selected the electric version of my car because it was there and it has very similar size and weight parameters). The UHaul phone rep says to go to the place I booked my reservation and get it fitted. I show up, and the location is treating me SO poorly, saying they don't fit cars for trailers if it's not on the list and they can't do anything about the situation. The OWNER even spoke to me and began lecturing about how someone will get injured or DIE or my car will be totaled if I proceed with the trailer for my booking since it wasn't on the list. I have a VERY common vehicle, first and foremost, and I was visibly frustrated and shaken from what the owner was saying. Alas, I called the International number for UHaul and, after 30mins on hold, I finally reached someone. They OK my car on the trailer, and it's an easy problem solved. If the first phone rep was properly trained, I could have solved this issue weeks prior on the phone. And, if owner and/or employees simply communicated to call the international number without being rude or telling me that myself or my car would be injured/broken, it would have saved me a lot of grief and headache. 2. Less than 24 hours before I was scheduled to pick up my UHaul, I get a call that the size truck I pre-booked is not a size that my province stocks. Why would it have been available at my pick-up location if the province doesn't stock that size?! Thus, I had to size up, meaning I had to pay more for THEIR mistake (not only for the bigger truck but for worse gas mileage too). On top of that, I was told that the size up would not be available at the time I requested (for my time-sensitive move, this was HUGE). Instead, I had to pick it up FIVE HOURS LATER at my set location. Alternatively, the phone rep told me that I could drive FOUR AND A HALF HOURS south west to an island to pick up the bigger size at the time I wanted. The only way to get to that island is by driving down a very narrow, rugged dirt road for most of the drive and taking a ferry, plus repeating that to come back in a UHaul with a trailer attached for a total trip of 9 hours. It felt like a slap in the face to give me that as my "alternative." I decided to wait the 5 hours. 3. I received the UHaul in a dirty state (it took me an hour to clean it myself because I did not want to drive 4,500km in filth). Plus, when I asked the employee with help on how to put my car on the trailer (I have never done that before), he told me to "go on our website" and left me alone to figure it out. The trailer also had sidewall damage to one of its wheels, which he shrugged when I brought it up, saying "it's fine." It took an hour and a half to get my car on the trailer. By this time, I still needed to load up the truck with my items before I left the next morning at 5am. I got to my house at 3pm and was loading until 7pm. 4. Between receiving the call that I had to upsize/pick it up later and when I received the truck, I was calling the national and international UHaul numbers, attempting to get a discount for the hardship I was enduring on their behalf. After 5h of phone calls, including getting hung up on twice and being on hold for hours at a time, I finally spoke to a kind, normal human who understood what I was going through as a 22 year old moving out of their parents house in a small town on the east coast. He gave me the truck at cost, an extra day of driving, the trailer for free, and extra KMs, totalling about half what I was originally going to pay. It only took him 10 mins to fix my problem. The fact that SO many other phone reps dismissed or hung up on me is astonishing. When I dropped off the truck at my destination and recounted my experience, the UHaul employee said that it was not a normal experience. I stand by the fact that UHaul has EXCEEDINGLY POOR customer service, inadequately trained/maintained distribution centers, and an un-updated useless website. I will forever deteer anyone from ever using UHaul for their move. The amount I saved by doing the move myself with UHaul was not worth the heartache and emotional hardship I could have avoided had I used professional movers. In all my life, I have never endured such unsatisfactory customer service from ANY business. My experience was not a fluke; as a business major, I saw every since flaw with UHaul that resulted in me having such a horrible experience. I guarantee that a sizeable portion of other UHaul customers had similar or worse experiences as me. "What can we do to improve for the next customer?" you ask? That would require me to write an entirely new 1000-word essay. UHaul has more problems than a hormonal teenage girl or a nation on the brink of financial/political collapse.Nellie L.
Was ignored when I first walked in. Vehicle was not clean when I picked it up. I returned vehicle swept and clean. I was billed $25 cleaning fee when I know I cleaned it. I have attempted to rectify the issue with customer service but each time the issue is escalated I do not hear back from management. This is my 2nd time renting this summer. I have not had issues until now and I have two more moves to go. As a mover I plan to take my business elsewhere.Matthew M.

We showed up to pick up our rental at our booked time of 8:30am and the door was locked. We could see the owner through the door and after 10 minutes and other customers showing up, he came to the door. He proceeded to tell us, very rudely, that this location was opening was not opening until 10am now due to the Day of Mourning for the Queen and if we had any issues that we would have to call u-haul. He then locked the door behind him and walked away. We were already in the processes of trying to check-in online, but the other customers called u-haul and went to a different u-haul location as there were so dissatisfied with the customer service at this location. The owner continued to sit inside the door with his buddies and have a good laugh while customer showed up and tried to open the door as there was no sign posted any where stating the change of hours. This location has been our location of choice for many times until yesterday. The lady working seemed to be having a day. She was not very friendly. We did have an issue with our light hook up so we had to leave the trailer which was fine with us. We left to go purchase a new light hook up and we found out that the lady had told her boss my husband had been rude to her. Which was not the case as I heard their interactions. We had been charged for the trailer we could not rent because the owner told my husband was rude there for we are being charged. We have since spoke with a uhaul rep and have the matter being looked into.Patria W.

I had no problem with the location but I was not aware when I booked my uhaul online that when you order a truck to go a longer distance that you are unlikely to get the truck you wanted as the fleet is rotated and there is a much smaller selection. I was also unaware that scheduling only schedules the truck a few days in advance (that's what I was told). I had ordered a 10ft truck and in the end I got a 26ft truck which was harder to drive and less fuel efficient (I was told by scheduling there was no truck smaller in a 7hr radius available). I had also called a week before to ask customer service to change my order to the day before and nothing was put in my file. But these issues were not the fault of the specific location I had used. The workers at both my pick up and drop off location were friendly and the truck was in good condition.John E.
