Lack of communication was extensive. I talked to them 4 times on drop off procedures and times. Not once was i told that my drop off had been changed. Even when he was accepting the trailer on the computer. Then I received a bill with a wrong drop off location charge. This whole experience was horrible. I had 4 different pick up locations in 24 hours and ended up with over an hours drive to finally get the trailer. Then an email changing my drop off while I was on route, with no communication. As it said( per our discussion) there was no discussion. I received phone calls from staff on all the pick up changes but no call on the drop off. I delivered the trailer where I was instructed. If you change a location a phone call is needed to make sure the customer is aware as that was done on pick up day. Also your representatives at your locations should communicate this. He had a computer and in the 4 times I called never once mentioned that there was a change or that he didn't have my drop off. Even when I dropped it off said it's all done , thanks. A truly horrible experience
Tim LHere in Quebec we have to wear winter tires it is very helpful and more secure. This rental truck had wear off summer tires and was not very secure to drive a long way.
Serge BEvery location seemed to not want me and tried to send me to the next closest location to drop off the trailer
Reynald COffice was locked during business hours. Had to call the phone number posted on the front door to get service. Not thrilled that because I was a bit late (my fault) I was billed an extra full day with the extra insurance. There were no other customers booked with the equipment so there was no demand that day. At other times the attendant helped me out in that situation.
Chris GI had wanted a 6X12 trailer from Timmins was told 4 days before that I would have to travel 2 hours out of my way to pick up a trailer in New Liskeard then 2,5 hours out of my way to return the trailer. The trailer was supposed to be a guaranteed pickup at 10Am. I called the day before to confirm the trailer would be available only at 15:30!!!! I was able to contact Uhaul and they found another trailer in Haileybury and also mentioned there was in fact a 6X12 in Timmins but the Uhaul was closed for the weekend. It would have been nice if your booking system would have let me know the trailer was available in Timmins and I would have picked it up on Friday to avoid all the extra travel and hassles.
jeff bWe received excellent service upon return but we only needed one day we still believe we should only be charged for one day
Carol DThe equipment was clean and well maintained, the only thing is, there was a bad tire on the unit, they should pay more attention to those things so next costumers don't rent it and get stuck on the side of the road somewhere because of a flat tire caused by a bad tire. Besides that service was good
Brian MHe was not aware of our arrival. Said we were not in his system. Had a hard time logging into his system.
Leigh GThe whole experience with U-Haul was a nightmare. To begin with I was told I could NOT use DEBIT for rental, so I purchased 2 prepaid Visa cards $750, then when I called to book for pickup I was told No prepaid Visa cards, even thought they are used everywhere for purchases. My friend who owned a business cashed them for me and I redeposit the money to my account. When I had to finalize everything one the on-line application it wouldn't take my Debit MasterCard, so I had to use my friends visa card just to book the truck and tow trailer. The night before pick up for the truck and tow dolly I was told I had to go across town to pick up truck then go back to Vine St to pick up the tow dolly. WTH. I arrived at St Paul St W. Esso station to pick up the truck, after being told U-HAUL will take debit at their pick places. AND THEY DID NOT TAKE DEBIT and their ATM doesn't work. I call Vine Street while still in the ESSO STATION and the girl tells me that yes everyone takes debit. After 1/2 hour of arguing with the U-Haul people, thank God my friend was with me, so once again she puts the truck $643 on her visa card. Off to Vine St with truck to pick up the tow dolly I am livid by now as you can imagine. After waiting in line for 30 min because they have one person on, I tell the girl about my frustrations and she says yes apparently the district manager was aware that St Paul St W Esso, didn't take debit but nobody else was aware if this OMG. I pay for the tow dolly With DEBIT, we go outside to hook up to the truck, my 75 year old friend backup and trips on a tow dolly that's is in the ground instead of on a tripod and shatters her shoulder and wrist. I tell U-Haul lady I need to go to the hospital as my friend was taken by ambulance can they delay my rentals for at least a day. She needs to get permission from the district manager, finally reply yes, my loading up and towing was taking me 7 hours away. After a terrible experience and long drive I get back north, return the truck and dolly and I AM CHARGED THE EXTRA DAY FOR THE TRUCK. Terrible service by U-HAUL and I hope when my friend sues them she
