when i dropped off i was little nervous because there was only 1 person working in store so she just took keys and said id receive an email and final bill later. it all worked out fair and correctly but was worried i could be charged incorrectly since no one checked van, mileage, gas etc. They were very easy to work with!Karen D.

They waited a whole day to check in truck after I returned it during regular business hours. They waited to check in the truck so that they can overcharge me unjustly. I only drove 6 miles and put in a gallon of gas. Then they charged me 4,25 $ for 1 gallon. The truck was clean but the location was horrible. Reservation #: 27235420 Pickup and Drop Date: Both was 11/29/2018 EWING EXXON 1500 PENNINGTON RD EWING,NJ 08618 (609) 643-4857 I completed the entire Mobile Pickup process and received confirmation of pickup on the App. I then went inside to obtain the key, and the cashier (1) didn't know how to use her U-Haul system, (2) said I couldn't use the Truck as there were 2 reservations for 1 truck (that was not true), then (3) couldn't logon to her system. Finally (4) she called U-Haul Customer Service. A 5 minute process ended up taking 35 minutes. My blood pressure was spiking because of the inefficiency of this location, I was 45 minutes late to see my Client and I lost 80 $in billable income as U-Haul made me late to see my Client. I was charged twice for the truck, the dolly, and insurance. The employee was extremely rude. Several times she told me that she was unable to help me and I had to call Uhaul instead of renting me the truck. I finally received it after almost getting into a verbal altercation. The drop off person who received the vehicle was very argumentative I had a question and he became very irate when asking to clarify the gas return on my receipt which was very unprofessional but my processing person was excellent.Bernadette C.
The u-haul at the Exxon in Ewing NJ charged me for extra miles I did not use. I went from one Ewing location to another Ewing location only making two trips and used about 15 miles total, I was charged for 62 miles. The employee refused to give my money back and was completely rude to me. I will tell everyone to steer clear of this U-Haul establishment.Steven C.

I was called by the Trenton location saying the truck had not been returned when in actuality it had not yet been "logged in" by this location. Extra aggravation.Beth S.

We had issues with the front tires which caused us to have them changed twice. It caused me to almost lose control of the truck twice. Our trip was from New Jersey to ArizonaGregory C.
A month before moving into my junior year of college, I arranged to pick up a U-Haul van from a location conveniently near my house and on my way to school. I received an email confirmation listing the exact time, date, and franchise location for pickup, just as I had entered the information. But when move-in day arrived, the U-Haul franchise location I had selected (and received email confirmation about) did not have my van. The franchise employee called her local U-Haul representative, who found out that my van was at a different franchise, on the far opposite end of town. The employee told me that U-Haul managers who decide where vehicles should go often only check the name of the town, not the specific franchise, so vehicles may end up at different locations within the same town. Thus, despite receiving an email confirmation (listing the correct location) from U-Haul's automatic electronic system, I was forced to waste time driving to a different, farther location (of course paying for the extra miles and extra gas myself) because U-Haul seems to still rely on human employees who are not from the area manually sending vehicles in roughly the right direction.Mark S.

The truck had only 3/4 of the gas tank filled. On the paperwork it showed 7/8. I did not notice that on the paper work until i returned the truck. Mistake that costed me 15$ extra.Rohith Reddy S.

The truck was new, which was a plus. The interior was not clean considering the truck had only 930 miles. Check-out was awful. The guy did not know what he was doing. I had a reservation and it took 40 minutes to get me checked out. He kept waiting on the gas station customers, yet I was there first and noone was in there when I arrived. I had to keep telling him how to do something then he'd call someone else and confirm. All he kept saying is I don't know how to do this, yet according to a gas customer he's been there for nearly a year. I even had to force him to let me sign a receipt and the insurance form by telling him I wasn't going anywhere without it. Upon returning, the same guy was there with another guy. The first guy rudely said just park the truck I don't know what to do. I told him I didn't trust him so I will take pictures of the fuel and mileage. After putting gas in the truck, the other guy refused to take the keys. He had an attitude for some unknown reason. I'm not sure if there was a drop box, but if there was he could have told us the location. Bottom line, this was a horrible experience and if I could have gone somewhere else, I would have in a heartbeat.ORLINDA ELIZABET M.

This is not the location I requested. At the last minute, my location was switched to one that was more than 25 minutes further away than the one I had requested. This seriously impacted my schedule and caused a big problem. I was NOT happy at all with the service from UHaul.Robert R.

I was charged for two days and am not happy with that. When I booked the vehicle, the online system would not permit me to pick it up at 6PM on 9/18. The latest choice I was given was 3PM. So I picked it up at 3PM on 9/18. I also got a call at 1PM on 9/18 telling me I could pick it up then. I couldn't pick it up that early. When I arrived at the facility, the gentleman informed me that I had to have it back the next day by 5. I told him that this was impossible, that my event ended at 5. I returned the vehicle, having driven only 20 miles, at 5:50PM on 9/19. I had entered 6PM on my online application. I feel that I got ripped off and am not happy at all.ILENE B.
The renter at first wouldn't acknowledge the reservation. Despite the fact that it was for four hours, she insisted that all the trucks were reserved -- for the next day. Only after a call to customer service did she show any helpfulness.Eric S.

Either the location or the system is very messed up. I was not charged correctly numerous times. I have had to call twice to have this fixed and am now waiting for it to go under review, as i was charged an extra 346 $. The first time I had to call was at the time of pickup when i was being charged 500 $and then after being over charged I had to call again. I am not sure why the location and your systems do not have the same information. It is also frustrating that you don't see a bill or how you got charged on your website. It is very outdated and only gives you the contract number which is pretty much useless after you have picked up and dropped of your truck.CARINA F.

The truck was rented from Flemington, NJ. The day before pick up of the truck, I was informed I had to travel to Ewing and was only given an additional 40 miles. I got lost, and as a result used up far more than the 40 miles allotted. If you make a change like that, you should either discount or add 100 miles. Instead, the clerk could offer only adding a day, which was unnecessary since I had to cancel the stop to pick up a piece of furniture on the way due to lack of mileage. Very disappointed in that, but the truck ran beautifully and was clean and fresh.JUDY N.

I reserved a truck from the Uhaul online reservation system. It was supposed to be from a Princeton, NJ location. My original confirmation was to pick up a 20' truck from the Princeton, NJ location. I received a call from the UHaul location to determine a pickup time for a now 17' truck. During the call, no mention was made of the UHaul store location, or that my reservation had been switched to a different location from the one that I had earlier chosen and had been confirmed online. I realized the morning we were picking up the truck that the location had been switched without this having been mentioned anywhere besides the second, almost identical, online confirmation email. This resulted in an extra 40 $charge for the additional 20 miles of driving, a delay in when we could begin to move, and general annoyance with UHaul (which continued this morning when extra taxes and fees appeared on my final bill that had not previously been mentioned or included in charge summaries on the confirmation email). I've used other truck rental companies in the past and had straight-forward more pleasant customer service experiences with what were less-expensive and generally nicer trucks. I chose UHaul this time because of the store location (in Princeton for a move within Princeton). I will be less likely to choose UHaul in the future following this experience. Additionally, the cleanliness of the store location was poor. While waiting to pick up the truck, a mouse ran across the convenience store floor and over my wife's foot. Finally the passenger-side mirror was seized such that it could not be adjusted which made for a fun extra 20 miles of driving with a box truck along route 1... Our move went smoothly in spite of our decision to use a UHaul truck.CHRISTOPHER R.

Wanted the 19,95 $ truck but they didn't have it so rented 29,95 $ truck. Only went 12 miles to pick up something12 there and 12 back. Ended up Costing 98 $. They charge 1,99 $ a mile (along with other hidden costs) can get it much cheaper elsewhere. The main thing is that they don't tell you this up front (before you rent it)....they tell you "afterwards".DARLENE F.
Put gas in the tank before customers take it off the site. Had to stop not even half way into my trip. Have employees that know the business and are able to communicate to customers. I asked if they carried matress bags and he told me yes but when I got there to pick up the uhaul he said no I told you we sold furniture paint.
