Truck â€œbroke downâ€ and wouldn't start mid move. Has to open the hood and find that the cables in the engine bay for the battery are so tattered they just fall off the battery from the engine rumble.Matthew N.

The auto transport that I rented was in poor condition, with one of the straps nearly torn completely off. This location was unable to help me with fixing the problem. They sent me to another UHaul depot that were also unable to fix the problem. I had to call roadside assistance in order to get a strap for the trailer. This delayed my trip by half a day.Margarida D.
Uhaul changed first my pick up location, then after pick up, half way through the journey, changed my drop off location also unilaterally & still charged me 75 $surcharge that I paid for my confirmed drop off location. What worse can do when you break your own written contract.Puneet G.

Moving is stressful so it's understandable that that the people working at Uhaul get tired of the abuse. I came in with a positive attitude and was met with an affront and an attitude that made it seem like my coming to this business was more inconvenience than as a patron. After discussing the discrepancy between the online booking I made for 40 $and the cost they came to at 80 $~ I was a little perplexed but understood. I haul really should be more transparent on the website so the employees aren't constantly getting steamrolled. At the end of my move the battery was suffering and it took a bit to start. So between the attitude (which may be justified) and almost getting stranded (after being vehemently told no later than 6:30) and then not being able to get a hold of anyone at 4:30 in the middle of the week was just unforgivable.Michael L.

Representative wasn't behind the desk at my time of check in, someone (non uhaul) was covering for her, she came back late and there was a line of customers. Though the quality of her check-in capability and knowledge was there, my checkout ended up being almost an hour late. Plus she did not inform my drop off location so I had to frantically ask at the storage unit (destination) if they'd accept it as it was getting late and the move was stressful.Lara L.
Very difficult to get a hold of reception staff. Not courteous, not helpful when keys were locked in truck, referred to Uhaul.com, whom responded after 2 hours with a call back. AMA opened the Uhaul truck door within 15 minutes of a call placed. Awful service.SUDHIR N.

The lady at the counter was super helpful. The first truck I went to had engine trouble, and she helped me switch to a new vehicle. She helped make my experience much better. On a different note. Your app told me not to go to the Uhaul location until 9:00 even though your website allowed me to book an appointment from 8:00 until 4:00. The lady at the counter called to let me know that she arrived early to accommodate my 8:00 pickup. Your app misinformed me about when my truck would be available. What a disappointing experience. The vehicle wouldn't start immediately so went in to ask for assistance. In that 2 minutes, my purse was stolen from the van. I was told it happens all the time, the vehicle back doors are kept unlocked and people often sleep in the back. What about my safety if I check the vehicle and someone is sleeping in it. There are no cameras to monitor the fleet so no evidence when my purse was stolen. The next day, I received a call to bring back the keys - I had returned the keys the day before and was told there was no additional paperwork to sign off on. What irresponsibility that I needed to receive a call because the staff lost the key after I had returned them.Lisa C.

Absolutely the worst experience. I was told I can pick the truck from my desired location and drop it off close to where I was unloading the truck. U-Haul charged me a significant amount because the person entering it in the system after hours did change the after hour drop off location. Unbelievable experience.Farhad S.

Make sure your web return link works. Despite having all settings on my phone correct (I double checked and confirmed that location settings were on), I was unable to use the return link. It could not find me parked in the rental lot. As a result, a "convenience fee" of 20,00 $ + taxes was added to my invoice. "Convenient" for U-Haul but definitely not for me.Trent P.

The truck was filthy inside and out, I don't think it's been cleaned inside forever the box was full of mud I slipped in the mud had to change my clothes and have to wash my coat and everything now because I got covered in mud every time I used it. The lady at the checkout said just put a tarp down over the mud. Very unhappy every other time I have used your company things were great. Very disappointedRichard S.

Truck had less that 1/4 tank of fuel so I had to fill up before leaving. There was zero indication where the lock box was located. The truck was parked so close to the next truck that the mirrors were interlocked. The damage pictures were not accurate. I rented for two days. Returned it after one day with double the fuel it had and never received a credit. Lots of little things...but seems to be on par from my past experiences with u-haul.Colin J.

I was a little late for my 24/7 self service, so the process to check out wasn't working properly However, the U-Haul representative was able to check me out and get me on my way. He was very helpful and accommodating and deserves credit as it was before his official "start" time. The truck was clean and easy to drive out of the parking lot. The location was great. The call center that kept trying to move me to another location to pick up was annoying and nearly had me cancel my reservation. People are not equipment and the call center treats us like that. Move your trucks not the customers.Michael K.
I did top up the gas. It was not returned half full. Your system sucks. Give the renter a full tank instead of partial. Then there will not be any dispute. I suggest you reverse the extra gas price I was charged. The floor of the cab was filthy and disgusting. Do you always rent out dirty vehicles.Bill W.

People tend not to read more than is necessary and may have more pressing things on their mind. Make it more clear (visually) from the beginning that they are required to be at the location to use the dashboard and to take pictures BEFORE they return the keys. Also, some of the information like scanning the face, license, etc, could be asked ahead of showing up to make it more efficient.Trevor S.

I was told i had to fill the gas tank to Full when I returned back. When I got in the vehicle the gas gauge was probably about 1/8th away from full. When I arrived back I was told I should I have known to stop and tell them which I wasn't told in the store-i was told it was ready to go. I had booked this online days before. Should it not just have been ready? So I ended up paying 40 $for gas for barely any use on top of the fees. I also was not told to check the mileage. Customer service should be more clear instead of skipping over the parts as if everyone knows how to use a uhaul.Danielle R.
