Booked online. Was given the option to choose pickup and dropoff locations, with only the drop off location specifically stating that it was only a preference and may change. Original chosen pickup location was 2 mins from my house but instead was changed to a location 30 minutes away which was incredibly inconvenient. Also selected to have in person pickup rather than 24/7 pickup as the website gave this as an option. When checking my order before pickup, I found that I had been switched to 24/7 pickup and there would not be a Uhaul employee at pickup. I called the number provided to discuss the order and the customer service rep was incredibly unhelpful, rude, and completely unbothered by my dissatisfaction with the experience. Basically told me nothing was wrong and that this was the process. During the phone call, I received 2 text messages right after I mentioned that I didn't select 24/7 pickup and was expecting a person to be there. The messages said that due to Covid-19 everyone was encouraged to use 24/7 pickup--this is sensible, but if that's clearly the way that Uhaul is/wants to handle rentals, then don't provide an option for pickup with a representative present. Set proper expectations for your customers upfront so they aren't surprised/disappointed/frustrated if/when you change something after purchase. Ultimately I went through with the rental because what choice did I have 24 hours before pickup. However, given my experience with this rental and your lackluster customer service, I will consider alternatives for future moving needs.

The location is fantastic! However, the U-Haul reservation app needs to be fixed - implying to a customer that a rental is available at a location and then 24 hrs later getting communication that the rental will be picked up somewhere else that's 10+ miles away is totally unacceptable. If the app can't be fixed, then a 'limited mileage' filter should be incorporated so that reservations won't be accepted if the eventual rental location exceeds the limited mileage filter value. Example: My limited mileage filter is 5 miles. If the alternate location drive is more than 5 miles, the reservation is either not accepted or is cancelled, not automatically scheduled 24 hrs later.

My first trailer rental. Almost a disaster! You provide no tongue jack for this trailer which makes it very difficult to attach to the van, especially once loaded. The lack of a trailer jack caused me to strain my back attaching the trailer. In addition, the trailer nearly fell on my foot while trying to attach without a jack. I think this is a huge safety issue and may carry some liability for UHaul should a customer be injured due to lack of proper equipment of the trailer with a jack. In addition, the tie down rails are a joke. There is insufficient attachment methods on the 1" rail - the 1/4" slot will not support a sufficient sized rope, a ratchet strap hook or most any sized ratched straps. This is a poor design, especially since the attachments that hold this rail to the trailer wall are minimal and pulled out of the wall when tightening the tie down straps. Again a safety issue as these tie down points are potential failure points that would allow the load to shift and unbalance the trailer. You really need to address these issues. I cannot recommend to others the renting of a UHaul trailer.

Excellent experience with this location over the years. Had an issue with the return process this time. I returned my box truck after hours (first time doing this), and was unable to use the U-Haul app to check in. When beginning the process, the app directed me to return the key to the drop box, then proceed. The next step required me to take a photo of the odometer and fuel gauge, which cannot be done without the key in the ignition. Perhaps I made a mistake, but the instructions were pretty clear...return keys, THEN photograph the Odo/fuel guage. The ODo does light up with the door opened, but the fuel guage does not turn on w/o the key. The app would not accept my verification photo without both ODO & fuel guage shown. It would've been nice to save myself the convenience fee of 20 $. Oh well.

How about instead of saying that the mileage is lower than what it is you use honesty and make sure the mileage on the paper is the same as the mileage on the truck this way people aren't overcharged for miles drive. I rented a truck actually had 111995. The paper said 111953. I was charged 47-50 miles driven when I actually only drove 12 miles. This is robbery

Melissa at this location inserted 8 gallons of gas after return, at the surcharged price per gallon, despite the truck odometer having ~20 miles between pickup and return. I do not think she meant any harm, but who thinks 8 gallons of gas is needed for 20 miles of use, especially since the truck already had the gas replaced before return?

The mobile app was problematic. Standing next to the truck, it doesn't recognize that I'm at the store so I couldn't process the pickup. I had to walk over to the mailbox. Then it asks a lot of questions I should have been able to fill out ahead of time and it took me 15" for something that should have taken 3. On the return, I couldn't complete the checkin. It asked me to take a photo of the odometer and I did so repeatedly but I couldn't get it to accept. I just locked the car and put away the key and hoped for the best. I know software is hard to write and get right but Uhaul's app is exceptionally poor.

Location was great. The app to check in the truck after use would not work. Waited 30 minutes on hold to talk to a customer service rep, who then disconnected us (accidentally or otherwise) when she was trying to check on the account. The experience of trying to check the vehicle back in was miserable.

When we picked up the van, we were told the vehicle had just been PM'd. Our driver left our facility and called in later in the afternoon that the service light for the oil came on. Just double check milage for oil.
