Our pick-up location was changed the day before we were due to pick up the vehicle. The new location was much less convenient. It was 15 miles further away. I see no reason U-Haul could not have moved the vehicle to where I was expecting to pick it up instead of me having to make a 30-mile round trip to pick it up and get back to where I needed the vehicle. The attendant at the pick-up location was running a convenience store and his attention was mostly on the store operations and not on ensuring my vehicle was ready for use. The vehicle was listed as having only 1/4 tank of fuel (that was a generous estimate). Based on the fuel mileage of the vehicle that was probably only about 50 miles of fuel. I had no choice but to fuel the vehicle at the convenience store (convenient for them to make money for having to fuel the vehicle immediately) where I was picking it up to ensure I didn't run out of fuel before getting on the road to my destination. The vehicle was clean but in poor condition, with multiple areas of obvious previous damage. To protect myself, I took pictures of the outside of the vehicle. The column shifter had difficulty getting into the proper gear position. There was a part missing from the driver's door where the mirror is attached. There was an advertising sign in the windshield. The store operator never came out to verify the vehicle was in working order, nor did they go over the features of the vehicle with me to ensure I knew how to properly operate it. There was no indication of the last time the oil had been checked or changed. There were no instructions on how to check the oil, but there were instructions on the visor to check the oil with each fuel stop. The vehicle had no cruise control making it much more difficult to maintain a proper speed, especially when going uphill. The mirrors on the vehicle are so large and positioned in such a way that they partially block your view when looking left and right to pull out from an intersection.
CRIS AConduct the rental transaction on a U Haul computer and not a personal tablet or cell phone. Do not attempt to take credit card information near other customers.
LOUIS MI did an online registration for a different driver to pick up the U-Haul. Upon pickup they had to reiterate the entire information from the register when they were not the people moving, just helpers, including card information. This was extremely inconvenient and a waste of time. The whole purpose of doing online is to bypass all those small details so i could have someone else pickup the truck. Instead, it was a hour long process of the one guy working.
Eugene BI would like to request a reimbursement for the extra miles I had to drive. The carrier was not at the location in my reservation. I had to drive an additional 26 miles to pick up from Greencastle PA. I was supposed to get the carrier in Hagerstown, MD.

Joshua DDon't allow the drop-off location to take advantage of established customers. We were charged for gas (3gal), keep in mind we put $30 worth in the truck at the drop location minutes before giving the key. The employee refused to come out and review the truck. Told us we could go and we'd be sent the final receipt later.
David KThe tire had a hole on the outside. Tire was fine though concerned that noone addressed it. Took alot of time to checkout.

Michael HConvenience store clerk barely spoke English. Every single question asked, he had to call someone else on the phone and I had to wait for him to call back each time. Being there was several customers in the store, he had us stand off to the side while he waited on everyone else. My overall checkin took nearly an hour because of all this which was not removed from my 6 hr contract. The trailer once I was able to hook up, the hitch would not go on at first. I struggled for 10 minutes to get it to work. When I was all hooked up and ready I noticed one taillight was not working, the tag was barely holding with only 1 screw, tag was also bent and when the door would go up, it would get stuck in the door springs and had to squeeze my hand between door and top of trailer to bend tag down so door would come back down. While loading the trailer, I noticed several holes in roof of trailer. (Glad it wasn't raining!)
Seth RI reserved the truck for an extra day, but I did not need it. I picked up the truck on Monday 7/24 and returned it to Greencastle on Tuesday, 7/25. I was not refunded that extra day. I also swept the truck clean for $25 off my rental but this was not credited. I asked for a receipt, but they refused to give me one. The people there were not friendly.

krantipal SI was scheduled to pick up my U-Haul at 9am. The only person that could process the reservation was the manager and he was not at the store. I had to wait until 9:40am in order to pick up the u-haul. I had a very tight schedule I needed to keep due to having a sitter and my older daughter going to work. Both had to be pushed forward due to the late start. There was no apology or discount offered. Will not use this location again. I'll pay extra for gas and mileage first.

Douglas WThis is second time in 1 week I rent the truck , great experience with them, staff is very friendly, polite and helpful, excellent customer service, very knowledgeable and answer all my questions regarding rental. I would definitely recommend this location to friends and families.

krantipal SEmployee was not very friendly. However he was fast in closing out my UHaul transaction. Only issue i really had was i got charged a cleaning fee even though i left the truck much cleaner than when i picked it up.

Douglas SWebsite wasn't working/allowing for online pickup. Staff at the rental location were very kind and helpful explaining the process and helping us to pick up our rental vehicle. Merci.
Daniel KI rented the truck for 2 days in the event I didn't get my move done in one day. The truck was returned a day early and the location would not refund the second day. I feel that is the wrong way to do business. I will take my business elsewhere in the future.
Scott RWhen I returned the trailer I was told there would be a cleaning fee. It had a very little amount of dust from sweeping. As I began sweeping I was confronted by this employee and he began using foul language and even saying he wanted to hurt me. As I tried getting away from him he kept getting in my face. Finally I had to get in my car and leave. Then I got charged 40$ extra

Peter CI don't see where any improvements can be made, pickup/payment was very fast, as well as drop off. Makes it much easier to not deal with extra stress while moving. The guys there were very professional and informative.
Jeremy DI've rented 2 times now from this location, and hands down the easiest way to go. Service and trucks are top notch. Definitely would recommend Uhaul and Greencastle Minimart!
Scott Hwhen you change a customer's pick up location TELL THEM. If this location had not called me 45 minutes before my pick up time, I would have driven to the wrong location.

Scott HLocation is a gas station / convince store. Staff never came around the counter and spoke to me for 30 seconds just to say give me the keys and we'll check it in later. Then the next day I received a invoice saying the truck needed cleaned. Believe me it did not. I sweep it out and folded the blankets. Drove it three hours one way and never drank or ate in it. It was exactly as I had received it at the pickup location.

Sandra RCustomer service at this location was very poor. Owner of the facility was not helpful in hooking up the equipment and refused to check the trailer's tire pressure prior to my departure. He told me I could pay to use his gas station air pump to check it. Very rude individual.
Adam sGuy had us park it for him, didn't bother to go outside with us to inspect it. Tells us everything is good and sends us on our way. I get a bill for 38 something for over milage and cleaning. Calling uhaul was a joke, we returned vehicle clean and the truck had way more gas then it came with. Uhaul is a fucking joke
Melanie KCalled me 2 days before we were supposed to move to tell me they have no trucks and that I would need to drive an hour to pick up a truck. After that they upcharged me $100 more without letting me know there was gonna be a price change. Then charged me again for extra miles after I was told the extra miles were put on for the inconvenience of having to drive out of the way.

John RWe had a horrible experience from beginning to end. Our reservation was made and confirmed but when showed up to pick up our truck there was no reservation or truck available at the location. The staff at the location gave us the runaround and made us feel like we had no choice. We needed a specific truck length and at our request the only option they had was a 20 foot truck and we needed a 26 foot truck. This delay put us behind our schedule an hour and a half to two hours and we are very dissatisfied with the actions that that were taken with U-Haul customer service to make this right. We still feel the partial refund given was not the best uhaul could do and felt like a problem to be fixed rather than a customer to be satisfied. We were traveling quite a distance to pick up a piece of equipment that required us to go on the specific day and had people take off work in order to do this. Definitely left in a position not to recommend U-Haul.

David TI was originally scheduled for Frederick pickup; however, a truck was not available. When I picked up at this new location the truck had less than 1/4 tank. U-Haul gave me a $18 credit. After driving back to Frederick to my home I only had 22 miles left to empty and still had to go to Hagerstown. I had to put $40 prior to leaving Frederick AND once we were done, I had to put another $37 in to get back to 1/4 tank. The owner at the Green Castle location had the nerve to ask if I would change my drop off location to their store since they had another rental the following morning. This was after I was switched to another location and delayed 3 hours from my original reservation. This is poor management by U-Haul and price gauging for fuel.

William HI was not able to pick up the rental unit at the location I wanted. I had to go 15 minutes further. I didn't appreciate that I was informed of this a few days before my trip. Is that you policy so that people don't have a choice but to go with your company?
