Mark OngkoI placed my reservation on Sept. 12 for an evening pickup on Sept. 29- that's 12 days on advance. On the night of the 29th I went to receive my truck. To my surprise there was no record of a reservation in my account- on the app or the desktop website. I called customer service and was on the phone with them for a total of 92 MINUTES troubleshooting the issue. I was asked for permission by the rep to enter my account so they could rebook the reservation. After that, I was asked to provide a photo of my driver's license, a photo of my face, an alternative contact, an additional contact, and a copy of my passport. I thought that this must be a joke- I have never had to go through so much verification with U-Haul in the past- but the rep assured me that this was the "new policy." She informed me that U-Haul would be texting my two contacts very soon in order to verify my identity. I put down my parents as the two contacts, and we waited 15 minutes for the text from U-Haul, the text never arrived and we were unable to proceed with the verification. Keep in mind that me and my elderly parents are waiting in a dark, unlit parking lot on the outskirts of town, in front of a smoke shop- for two hours while we waited for Uhaul to resolve their error. I informed the rep that the texts never came and that my passport was in storage so I'd be unable to provide it. I suggested that I show an alt ID and asked for alternative solutions. She told me that she'd transfer me to the 24/7 line and said that they might be able to bypass all of these additional verifications. Once I was finally transferred, the rep told me that those additional ID verifications are unnecessary and proceeded to give me the padlock code so I could finally access the vehicle. I requested a refund/compensation from Uhaul and was ignored.

ANTHONY GIANDOMENICOWhen I could not get the check-in to work on the app, the guy at the counter was SO helpful. He made it much easier! Great customer service! And I did not have to wait. I went to the other U-Haul Neighborhood dealer to buy moving supplies and there was definitely a longer wait, even to pick up a vehicle (higher volume location, so a wait was to be expected). So much faster at this location, which is a gas station. Rent here if you don't want to wait!
Pamela OhnoWith van pick-up I had placed an order for furniture pads and uhaul doley but the location did not have either and that was a huge inconvenience. I will not rent from uhaul again as you do not keep your commitment … you accept orders but do not fulfill it!!! The service representative was courteous. Overall experience was below average bcoz we did not get what we wanted and made the mistake of relying on uhaul.

RAHUL KOTHARIWe arrived for pickup at the time we had reserved, but we had to wait quite a while to be helped, as the cashier kept serving people who came into the store to buy snacks, even though we had arrived first. When he finally helped us, he asked if I wanted the insurance from Uhaul. I said no, and I had already declined it when making the reservation. We completed the checkout on his phone, which had a very small screen and I was not able to see the full contract. When he finally gave me the keys, I checked the contract/receipt that he had sent to my phone, and he had added the insurance. I immediately went back into the store and told him I'd declined the insurance. He got confrontational and told me that I had said I wanted it, and that he had no ability to refund me. He even said that he couldn't possibly have added the insurance because he does not have that ability - which is a flat-out lie. He said all I could do was call Uhaul. I called Uhaul and customer service was able to help me, and said the $20 would be refunded at the end of my contract later that day. It did take a follow-up call to Uhaul a week later, but Uhaul's customer service was very polite and did resolve the issue. However, I will never rent from this location again. If he had made a simple mistake and owned up to it, I could have forgiven him. But to become rude and lie to my face is not acceptable. I encourage Uhaul to investigate this location, as I wouldn't put it past him to treat other customers like this.

Rebecca RomanWonderful person working for U-haul at 76 Gas Station (21855 Homestead Rd.) ! Today, I returned an U-haul rental van, and later I have received a call from this station. The person (I forgot his name. Bama ???) found out my wife's waist wallet with cash and called me to return this. We did not know we lost it. I believe he is vey honest and sincere person. I really appreciate his attitude to customer. In addition, every time when I visit U-haul at 939 El Camino Real, the persons working there were also so kind and made me comfortable. Merci!

vinod bansalI had a last minute (< 1 hour) need for a cargo van to pick up a kitchen dining set of my dreams. So fortunate to have Uhaul partner @ 76 on Homestead help me with renting a cargo van. Padaval was awesome and very communicative. Super Easy reservation process and vehicle was clean and very well maintained. Will recommend this site to anyone looking for moving help.

David KimThey didn't check in the keys in the drop box until days later. I got a call from U-Haul asking me about my late return, luckily I took a video of the ID tag on the keys before showing them being dropped in the drop box. Didn't seem like they were going to try to charge me for the late return but I definitely would have felt even more uncomfortable about it if I didn't have the video

Lalit JainClerk was 4 hours late to open the store and 2 hours late for my pickup, then they couldn't find my reservation for another 20 minutes. They said they'd push back my deadline the next day by two hours but when I dropped it off 90 minutes before the extended deadline, I was charged for an extra day.

Gautam NagpalDid not have the furniture dollies and hand truck I ordered with the truck a month in advance. The guy who helped me was nice though. U-Haul is a sloppy and disorganized company as a whole and won't be using them again in the future.

David MayerThe windshields were filthy. The gas tank was total empty. I had to pay $50 for gas on return so the Van had a quarter of a tank. The agent said he had advised your team of the problem. I doubt he did. I was lied to twice by your phone contact people.
Gary JonesLocation was not marked, if there were not the other uhaul vehicles there I wouldn't not have known it is the right place. App said it is the wrong place. Why?!? Again, the attendent was super helpful and took care of it for me. Cudos to him. Good man.

Ronald LeePick up was easy, except that I had forgotten my driver's license at home, but it is just a few minutes away. Checking the van was also easy, and it was clean and drove well. Fees for the rental were reasonable.

PASIVULANGI TAUPAKIThe app was not very reliable. I got connection lost messages a lot even though my cell reception was fine. There was a pad lock on the back door of the truck. It seems like it was left there by the last customer and the attendant hadn't noticed. When I pointed it out the attendant cut it off. Checking for pad locks should a standard part of the checkin and checkout process. And the app should be made more reliable.
Peter WuThe staff wasted me 40 mins since they didn't know how to handle the previous return and handle my order. They also mistakenly charge me $20 more although I have opt out for the coverage.

CRAIG SODERQUISTFirst I made a first reservation on internet for renting 15' truck, but around 7 pm a lady called me and told me it is canceled. Reference number: 22006007. When she , the representative, called me for cancellation, she was super rude and impolite. Please do not cancel the reservation without customer's request . Therefore I called customer service and a different lady helped me on the phone and she find new option for me. She was super helpful and problem solver. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the lady who helped me on the phone to make new reservation and Ms.Laura, who helped me and resolved the problem. Laura, the customer service representative is awesome
