Signed up for contactless pickup, only to find the truck in a gated area. When I asked for help I was told to present my rental agreement. Employee didn't seem to understand that I didn't have a paper rental agreement. I was told to â€œcall U-haul.â€ Finally, she agreed to process a rental. This seemed to be the exact process I would go thru had I walked in off the street. What is the point of booking online if the employees are unable to process these bookings. Frankly, I wouldn't usually complain, but the service was anything but friendly - and this is the second time in two weeks I have received poor service at U-haul.alan C.

When I had arrived to the JP Automotive a couple minutes early I had assumed it might be a couple of minutes to get everything together due to my early arrival. But with the 15' U-Haul arriving before I did, I also thought it would have mostly been prepped for my departure. Yet actually it was far from it and still sent off with me as is. The truck was completely filthy with some sort of liquid stains all over the floor, the cab reeked of smoke, there were random personal belongings still behind the seats and a half smoked marijuana joint in the driver seat. And finally the gas to which was marked on the uhaul customer print out at 1/4 of a tank of gas (as I was told by JP Auto & u-haul company standards should be grounded or undrivable until filled to a proper level of gas), the truck was actually at half of a 1/4 tank and I barely made it to my actual apartment address in Seattle. After all was given to me in such conditions, all the business owner did for me was sweep out the back of the truck (that I know of/ did not physically see such action preformed). I can understand some minor things here and there, but what my wife and I received was completely unacceptable including the price being higher than what was quoted at around $650 with insurance included (actually $717). I also understand that during the summer times where most people move and truck availability can be slim (especially during our current pandemic), but what I received was absolutely unacceptable from minor to high standards. I am not asking for anything in return but someone needs to know where standards are severely affected to which no customers should experience.MATTHEW T.

You charged me for 6 furniture blankets that I didn't receive nor want and than you said I didn't return them. Being I never received them it's something I can't return. Would love to have my money back. I get that I didn't check my original receipt and that on me, but they never mentioned them when the gave me the original receipt.William W.
We reserved a dolly but the location did not actually have a dolly. We then went to 3 other uhaul locations to find a dolly to rent as we could not move our heaviest items without one. None of these locations answered their phones, so we had to drive to find out that they also did not have dollies. That delay -- almost 2 hours searching for a dolly -- caused us to exceed our rental period, and be charged again. If the dolly had been with the truck as reserved, we would have been able to return the truck early and not incurred these extra fees. Also, is it normal to round up the mileage to the nearest 10miles? we did not drive 30miles, more like 22, but were charged for 30.kevin T.

I had not issues with any of the locations. I was upset that the location of my reservation changed on a daily basis and when I went to pick up the vehicle the only problem I had was that the Express Checkout was not express at all - no fault of the facility, it had everything to do with bad software development and user experience.Ken N.

I was intending on renting from Penske and was told that Uhaul was better. I had AtoZ make a reservation for me two weeks in advance of pickup for my location in Bellevue. The day before I was contacted and told I would have to pick up the truck at a Seattle location and that they did not open until noon. That was the poorest customer service I have ever received. When I make a reservation two weeks in advance I obviously had also made arrangements for a crew to start loading that truck on the morning of pick up. Needless to say I was able to pick up the truck that afternoon but lost 4 hours worth of wages in the process. Your reservation system sucks.BRUCE G.
I was supposed to pickup the truck at 8:ooAM but the place was closed so i called the main office then they tell me 10:00am so i go back home.then i go back at 10:15am then a mechanic tells me the lady that handels the uhaul trucks wont be in until 12:00 noon + the fuel light was on in 2 miles down the road +I returned it with more fuel by a quarter of a tank so i was told by corperate headquarters i will get a 50:00$ dollar credit.Anthony GAnthony G.
When I first got to the office and the girl seemed like she really didn't want to do the job so doing this process she didn't have the password to the computer is it because I just change the password she went and got her co-worker and he logged in but he kind of like to go over and my quote was $146 and some change I was gone for about an hour and a half and I traveled estimate 17 miles in a hour and a half from the U-Haul place to my house to the storage house and back in an hour and a half when I came back she charge me almost $175 when I begin to question her she got a attitude told me to leave she tried to push me out of the office to close the door and she locked it and told me I can never come back had to call corporateRebecca W.

The customer service there was fine but there were issues getting my billing information entered in because they said the "system had changed and was declining my card". We had to call into the Uhaul office and have them set it up and it took much longer than I would have liked. I had already entered in my billing information and checked in before going into the office so I felt like all the time I spent there was unnecessary.Chelsea M.

This place is either staffed by people beyond incompetent or they are what I believed them to be: scammers. I had a complete reservation done online that they stated they "couldn't" look up, so they had to start over. When I told them where I was going, three times, they completed the contract with their location as the drop off. The truck they had available had notes attached to it stating that it "leaked" and that they weren't responsible for anything that happened to my stuff, however there were no other options in that size of truck in the area so I was stuck with it. The staff here was slow, bumbling, and rude. I will certainly be watching my credit card statements for months now because I'm convinced they copied the numbers down due to how suspiciously long they needed it to charge for my rental. When I went to return the truck, I only notice the error at the last second and called customer service. Customer service told me I had to drive the truck 1hr back to JP and incur the gas/mileage expenses due to their mistake. I told them I would not do that and after 45 minutes on the phone, finally was able to have the call center manager change the drop off location to one nearby. I dropped it at a 24hour location near me. And had once again, a terrible experience.Daniel G.

Truck dirty, no wiper fluild, no help loading pads and dolly, they said there was no need to inspect truck because I bought insurance. Location assigned by u-haul 45 min. from home and no where near the location I requested. Tried to get help with closer location or bring truck to closer location with no HELP! Spent 1/2 day just getting truck and made leaving Seattle later than normal which made me change all motel resevations to different places. I suggest you tell your rental representatives to give a SHIT about the stress these moves cause to customers. I went to u-haul because I thought with my month in advance reservations I wouldn't have that portion of this move to worry about, as it turns out- it was the MOST stressful part of the move. I will not use u-haul again. And- by the way, we had to rent a trailer because truck ran out of space ( not your fault), but the door to the trailer malfunctioned and were unable to access the unit once closed, it also leaked and damaged some things. Finally got door opened but it would not close.THOMAS R.
while attempting to refill 10footer moving van/truck with gas I found out that the fuel line was improperly repaired at one point... after just half a gallon pumped gasoline came pouring out. I called the location and they automatically knew about the problem... I can not believe they sent me out with a truck with this kind of issue...extremely dangerous and I am lucky that nothing terrible could have happened.ian D.
