I took it out with 3/8 of a tank, drove 33 miles, put $14 to get it back to 3/8. Then I'm charged $33 for gas and they said it was at 1/4. I feel like I've been robbed. Who gets that $33?Mark M.
This was not my pickup dealer by choice. U-Haul sent me there last minute. It cost me extra time and money going out of my way to pick up the truck at this location, but the folks there were very accomodating.Oscar K.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, didn't have to wait long to complete rental. Truck on the other was dirty inside with cigarette ashes, smelled like smoke, trash and dirt in floor boards. It was raining hard when we left and did not check the storage area of the truck. Once we got about 45 mins down the road to stop for gas we opened it and there was a very large piece of wooden furniture left in the back as well as a utility dolly we didn't request. We went to the u-haul location in Reidsville, NC to rent the appliance dolly we needed and asked what to do with the furniture left in truck. We were told we would be charged $25 for anything left in the truck & if it wasn't clean. Definitely not happy that we had to deal with someone else's mess in order to avoid an extra charge. Driving back to the rental location was not an option as they close at noon.Kira G.

They did not have the dolly's I ordered. The place wasn't even open but there was a man there that had to call someone else to get the truck ready and he had to be walked through the process while they were fighting and arguing on the phone And I was overcharged for the truckKathleen K.
The equipment was clean but the trailer was not latched to the hitch properly. I think the screwing part was defective. The trailer came off, fortunately, it was in my yard and I easily put it back but the hitch needs to be more secure in how it tightens. Another time during the trip I was hearing a strange noise so I stopped and had to tighten the lock that holds the hitch in place. After that it was fine but I think it needs checked.Regina C.

Jeff Duval at Martinville location was excellent. Not happy that Uhaul moved our pickup location 90 miles away without any notification to us. I only happened to see it when I started online check in the night before. Uhaul also did notify Mr. Duval of the pick up. The location was closed and had no capability of online check in. If Mr. Duval had not showed up I do not know where we would have been able to rent a truck from.James P.

Terrible customer service. Took 45 minutes to obtain truck. Equipment in disrepair (cracked windshield, multiple dents) but mechanically sound. No supplies (had prepaid). The hand truck supplied was one they had used in their repair shop and it was covered in grease, trashing our carpet when we used it.Douglas S.

After having rented an enclosed 6x12 UHaul trailer from a facility in Mooresville, NC, which was excellent in every way, attempting to rent an open 6x12 trailer from this facility in Martinsville, VA was exactly the opposite, in every way. And while the UHaul customer service rep did his best, UHaul's corporate policies are made in a vacuum where only rapaciousness and greed exist along side an attitude of smug obdurateness. It made me seek out other renters of trailers. For the most part, UHaul has a monopoly. And like all monopolies is sanguine using practices and policies that it wouldn't dream of if it had to compete. As long as everything goes smoothly, everything is peachy keen. But as soon as there's a problem, UHaul's insularity comes galloping to the fore and one finds out what it means to have to deal with a monopoly and their maniacal, inflexible, corporate policy that is burned into the brains of their employees. Uhaul wasn't cleaned out completely, there was debris behind the seats and old masks in the console of the truck. The service rep seemed rushed and didn't have time to make the pick-up personal at all. Just gave me the keys and pointed to the lot where the Uhauls were.Jason L.

Looked like a junkyard. They do car repairs, and cars parked everywhere. I couldn't figure out where to park the truck and was then told to take it to a gravel field on the opposite side of the business. Could not even negotiate between the parked vehicles. Just left it there and let the owner move it. Unfriendly. Owner "could not" tell me final charges and didn't give me a receipt. He said uhaul billed your credit card and walked away. Get an email from uhaul with the charges. This is really a poor way to run a business. Man getting his car repaired while I was there complained that he was told to bring his car in at a certain time and then was told to come back in a couple hours. Terrible business.BRIANRICHARD M.

I have used U-Haul several times. The trucks has always been cleaned. This time the truck was very dirty especially the cargo area and the loading ramp. It look like someone had hauled bags of mulch and never tried to sweep it out. Even the walls on the cargo area was smeared with dirt. Unfortunately we experienced a blown tire that required roadside assistance on our move.Donald R.

I had reserved the trailer to pick up at another location. I did this on-line since I was going to be driving down from New York to pick it up. I called the original location a week before leaving and I was assured everything was all set. On my way to Virginia I received a phone call from U-Haul stating that my pick up location had been changed. I stated that I was not happy since I had picked the original location due to them opening earlier and that I had booked a hotel ear them to make pick up easier and quicker. The new location ended up being 10 miles away from original location and in wrong direction of my intended travel. U-Haul representative on phone said there was nothing they could do. I could take that trailer or nothing. I told them it would have been nice to know this information more than one day in advance so I could have changed room reservations plus I was already halfway into a 10 hour drive to pick up trailer. The location where I ended up picking up trailer was very nice and helpful. My complaint is with corporate office and the way online rentals are handled.Thomas S.

The process we had to go through to rent a truck and tow dolly took about 30 mins. The reservation had been entered as two separate invoices which made the process take longer.KAY V.
The truck I rented which was at 1620 Va. Ave., Collinsville was already rented and was leaving the lot when I arrived. And my purchase was confirmed when I called 1-800-Uhaul. The attendant at 1620 called and found a 26 ft. truck at Laural Park Tire and Auto and said my info was transferred there. He was very professional. When I arrived my info was not in their system so we had to start over. They also were very nice and professional and I got the truck I needed.John H.
Had to buy an adapter so brake lights would work, not acceptable. Had to drive to Richmond and back with no lights. I purchased adapter at advance auto but still did not work. As it was getting dark I called Danville uhaul and asked if I could return there, they said I had to return where I picked up. I would like to thank Eric at main office for his help he did everything he could to help.jerry B.

Truck itself was great, but back was not swept out, full of leaves etc. Biggest thing to me was, the dolly. I wasted 10 bucks on the dolly because the one they gave me was very old and had a layer of a motor oil looking substance on it. Not exactly what you want to be touching your furniture. The man was friendly, but distracted. The truck ran hot half way through the trip. Stopped very low on both oil and engine coolant. Filled everything. Changed address to pick up truck twice. Changed drop off point three times.Christopher T.

Had a pick up time of 1 pm but made me rush in there and said that if I wasn't there before 11:30 that I wouldn't get my trailer. I had to rearrange appt that I had at the time. Also trailer was on edge of lot in some brush and they would not help me get it loaded on to my truck. Overall experience there was poor would not recommend anybody to go to this U-Haul dealer.Kenneth H.

When I arrived at the location the power was off so l was told that they couldn't help me. I had to request that they check with other locations to see if I could transferred my reservation. After getting the paperwork set I asked where to get the trailer at which time the lady pointed up the hill. I expected someone to come out to assist but after about 20 minutes she came out but not to assist me so I went up the hill, found the trailer hooked it up myself. When I asked if there was anything that I should be aware of they said no. No one checked my vehicle or the hook up or anything. Since I have rented equipment with you all before I thought that this was unusual. Be more helpful to the customer. Don't assume that they are can manage the process on their own.Thurmond O.

My first time renting a trailer. Staff was very friendly but I hooked up the wrong trailer and drove away. As I was driving I noticed I had a bigger trailer than I rented. I didn't know they had numbers on the trailers to go by. No one walked us to the trailer. I just assumed it was ours. I turned around and had to back up the trailer into its spot and hook up the other one. It would have been nice if someone would have showed us our trailer the first time.Wendy K.

Be sure to do as much online as possible. The make-shift office reeks of cigarettes (smell on your clothes when you leave) and it's dirty. But it is a service station...so... People very friendly and know what they are doing.Joyce B.

Had to go OVER 5 miles out of town to get this trailer. I HAD a confirmation for a pickup in town because I live in town and moving my stuff to storage in town...from 1015 liberty st...bunch of idiots that DIDN'T know how to work through computer screens...I was 1,5 hrs later getting a trailer OVER 5 miles out of MY way....YOUR company SUCKS but what's WORSE...I STILL paid FULL price to be treated THIS way AND inconvenience!!!!??????????????????????????Renae L.

This is no problem picking up at this location, but there is a problem with the equipment. There was no jack on the tongue of the trailer. Made it near impossible for one person to get the trailer hooked up or unhooked.Mike C.

The owner of the rental center, Kenneth was distant and dismissive. While he was checking me in he worked on at least three other customer items often just walking away without saying anything. Uhaul phone support is a joke. They are overcharging on trailers and are not explaining times rolling into the next day therefore charging a extra day to the customer. Very dissatisfied with pricing and charges to me. This will be the last time I rent from uHaul.Jacob M.
