The drop off location is very shady in appearance. The people inside were not very inviting. Just kind of left me standing in the shop... Employees in and out talking in a different language... Gave me no info on how I turn the truck in... Then one person took the key from me and drove the truck into the side yard... Then the guy sitting behind the counter just said ok, you will get an email from uhaul... That was it... No info if I was going to be charged anything extra, no info if I was turning the truck back in, in good condition nothing.. I left feeling worried that I was going to be in a bad situation and not very confident that my rental agreement was ending well.... I have yet to receive the email he said I was getting... Im now just kind of watching my cc to see if I bought a U-Haul or something.... It's a very stressful feeling as we are already a bit out of sorts as we just moved across the east coast of Canada.....

The staff were busy running a garage and gas pumps. The parking lot for trucks is a mud field. Used it because it was close to destination.

Le service a été excellent. I was treated promptly and with respect. The only thing "wrong" with this location is that the vehicles are all parked in the mud. No biggie.

We were once charged a fee to clean truck out and have the back step pressure washed. I already MOPPED the truck out and what was on the back step was a paste which washed away that night in the rain. The young guy that checked me out of Lockharts was rude and very UNprofessional to say the least. We have requested that we don't pick up any more trucks there in the future, we would rather travel to Kensington to pick up a truck, but Uhaul keeps sending us back there. This last rental we used, we picked up from Lockharts again and returned it there as well. While I was being checked out the guy serving me was doing fine until someone else came in. He then directed all his efforts to talking to the new customers leaving me standing there waiting, he even walked out of the shop to look at something with their car I would NOT recommend anyone go to rent a truck there

I was provided with a larger truck than I wanted. It cost me a fortune in added fuel.also they park the truck in a muddy field so it's never going to be clean

Horrible service. Employee couldn't find my online reservation, the vehicle interior was dirty, and ended up paying more than the online estimate said. Would give no stars if I could.

Better customer service they cancelled our order on truck rental we found out when we we went into see if they could change truck size guy said there was no booking but we had a confirmation number on the truck we did get a truck but a hassle they are rude and they didn't even have the paper to wrap your dishes said they didn't even sell it need to get there act together. Would not recommend that office for a truck rental

They seem like experienced Uhaul location. Easy drop off space. Quick drop off and final sign off when returning truck.

Next time I'm not going there. Don't talk English, check engine light was on, filthy, their friends kept coming in and they kept serving them and I had to wait, overall brutal service. Shouldn't be able to charge for service like that.

The merchant spent a lot of time conversing in another language with his employees. It wasn't very respectful. It also took 50 minutes to arrange the paperwork, and I was billed from 8 am, not from 9 am when I received the truck. I was also under the impression that I was to get so many kms per day, but I was charged my full trip on top of the flat daily rate.

Mel Flores 1 review 2 hours ago NEW We rented the u-haul in Summerside for three days. Customer service is very poor the owner there is rude and aggressive and as his family who works there as well are rude . The experience was appalling as we entered in the building and first they say move your car. We told them we will be leaving just here to pay for the u-haul . It was not busy at all , so we waited , then he said sit down but rude . I told him no it's okay I will stand . Then a car came in to pump then he points out upset saying " you see" move your car, but very aggressive. So, my husband asked me to move the car so I said okay , once I get in I am looking for my keys, I hear my husband yelling for my name I looked over and the owner was in my husband face , bc my husband said to him that he was rude how was asking me to move the vehicle. So the owner didn't like that . Once I got inside the building the Owner was standing at the front entrance has back towards the door and the his bother in-law at the other door then they both locked the doors holding us confinement we couldn't leave … which was very confusing my husband was trying to pay and that is how aggressive this company is and how they treat people . We had to call the police bc they were holding us locked door, that is very scary situation. Police came took everyone name And statement . The sad part is when they denied for locking us in the building. My husband told them you are wasting the police time coming over here , when all we wanted to do is pay for the u-haul . They shouldn't be running U-haul services at all . They try to get you for everything. We will not be using there services in Summerside and I will let everyone and friends not to use their services.

The coach of the truck reeked of vomit which was pretty gross driving in the heat

The rental part was fine, I just don't appreciate having to drive through mud to get to the trailer, wash the truck after, and have you wash my truck again 3hrs later after I return it in the mud.

The truck was not clean and swept out. I was scheduled to pick up the truck on Monday May 22 at 9am, I was told they wouldn't open until 10 am, I went there and there was nobody there. I went by again at 11:30 and still nobody there, I called at 1 pl and FINALLY got someone on the phone. When I returned the truck Friday May 26th it took 3 of them to to get it returned. I was also told it would be $42 and change for the gas, which when we picked it up there was 3/8 of a tank and when I returned it there was 1/4 of a tank. And since Lockhart's gas is pumped by them only I couldn't put the $15 worth of gas in it. I would not like to rent a truck from there EVER again

Lockhart's has gone down hill. I use to never have an issue with U-Haul there. Now it's impossible to make sense of the easiest things. Equipment issues and they fight saying it's not their equipment. Force you into other equipment and try to charge you for more then what you had , keep your deposit. A truly terrible experience and definitely won't be back to Lockhart's for U-Haul . I'll drive an hour if I have to , to get U-Haul equipment from now on .

The reason I didn't put clean for the location is because it was a service station/garage. But the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Makensure all equipment you requested is in the vehicle. Asked for a dolly cart and even paid for the cart and it wasn't in the truck. They didn't refund me the cost of the cart either

The return process took a long time. When the young man disconnected the trailer from my vehicle - it rolled into my car and scratched it.

The some of the back tires were bald and the truck handled poorly due to ???? WOrn front end parts Bad tires? The truck clearly wasn't fit to be rented. But nothing else was available so I had no choice. Perhaps you could address this

The truck size we asked for was not available, so we had a much smaller truck then expected. Because of the small truck size, we had to make more trips, which cost us more in gas. There was a half smoked joint on the dash of the truck, which made us nervous if we were stopped by the police. The back of the truck reaked of oil. When we took possession of the truck, the gaz was completely empty and the "empty" light was flashing. We booked a dolly which we really needed, but they didn't have any. Very bad experience overall.

It's a small family owned garage and they were very helpful. The online inventory did not reflect their inventory, so calling to book is advisable.

The air conditioning didn't work in the truck but other than that it was fine. Lockhearts was great to deal with for my rental.

Customer service/etiquette needs to be improved. The man was very "salty" to me because he did not want the trailer to leave PEI. Made me feel guilty that I was taken the trailer off the island. He hooked me up and sent me on my way - without even checking the lights - felt rushed. When I returned it to Dartmouth they said there was a wire broke for the lights. I guess I had no lights from PEi to Dartmouth. The trailer was supposed to be available in Charlottetown BUT had to drive to Summerside to pick up.
