As far as functionality goes, U-Haul got the job done. First, i was contacted less than 24 hours before my reservation that half of the items that I requested to be add ins were not available. I asked for 4 utility dollies, an appliance dolly and a furniture dolly. I received 1 utility dolly and 3 appliance Dollie's. A more timely notice would have allowed me to maybe find other options that had more of the equipment i needed. Very unprofessional.Anisah C.
This location is inside a run down furniture store, with what looked like used furniture. I wasn't sure if I was in the right place. The Cargo Van had trash left in it, behind the driver seat and other places. I had to give 2 Emergency Contacts when 1 should have been enough. I will never use this location again. You all need to learn what the word, Excellence means. Because this location is sorely lacking in it.james J.

My name and credit card information was on file and the manager decided to ask the person who driving if I wanted to add coverage instead of asking me . I was charged for 2 gallons of gas. I bought the uhaul back on the amount in which I was given (around 3/4 tank of gas). I believe I was charged for 2 more gallons b/c the person did not know that I wasn't given the truck on a full tank of gas. I WILL dispute this charge.Delfone P.

The truck was there but I was switch to this location the day before my pick up and they did not have the furniture covers I ordered. I was told by a person on the phone when it was switch that they would have everything. Than the guy asked if I still wanted to be charged for furniture covers even though they didn't have them. I thought the $100 deposit would be refunded in its entirety and the trucks were only $20 to rent. I had to go back the next day to clarify the misunderstood costs and If these sister locations can't operate with the same quality as the u haul stores then they shouldn't be able to represent the companyRYAN M.

When I picked up the van today, the representative told me I must return the vehicle with a full tank of gas even though it was only just above 1/2 tank. I only drove 33 miles and it cost me $30 to fill the tank!! When I returned the van I was told no credit could be issued for the $30 of gas, I would need to file my claim with u-haul. Really? I find this an egregious way to treat a customer. I am moving from Alexandria, VA to Las Vegas this December, and now I'm having second thoughts about using u-haul again. Please advise. Part 2: And forget about rectifying the situation with the Uhaul company. I called spoke to a rep Debra Ciraulo snd have yet to hear from her or the drop off location manager Charlie. Just a bad overall process. If you use Uhaul you should probably pick up from an official Uhaul location vs some third party location. I think there's a difference in customer service esp. after having completed the entire initial transaction over the phone with a UHaul Rep. In person at an Official Uhaul location is probably a better situation overall.MONTIQUE K.

To make sure all U-Haul trucks gears and brake's are checked on regular basis. The truck we had gears seem to jump in and out of gear when we where going up hill. The Brake's when you tap them the truck would jerk a little. I have us this facility before to drop off a truck from another location. The owner of this facility was very kind and helpful. My concern is to make sure all trucks are inspected daily for safety reasons for everyone. Thank you Mrs. Concern CitizenPamela D.

Operator is running a scam on customers. Vehicles are rented with less than full fuel, but operator changes status to full in system. Upon return with fuel at level vehicle was rented operator adds a fuel surcharge in that vehicle was full at time of rental. I have denied payment through my credit card company on this theft! I booked my vehicle for pickup at 930am. The website would not work on my phone to login and get my key code (it hung on the security page never presenting a security verification option). I tried calling customer service and sat on hold until the property manager arrived at 10am when they open. This is very frustrating during an already stressful process. Otherwise, the property manager was very helpful and had everything I needed that day. Ultimately, UHaul needs to fix their website to ensure the process runs smoothly!JENNIFERKELLY S.

I was scheduled to pick up my reserved truck at 9 pm. Upon arrival via my GPS, I could not locate the uhaul office as the area is so poorly lit that it's no short of a miracle for anyone to find it! First, it is apparently located inside a discount furniture store and the (barely) visible uhaul banner is too small to be readily recognizable. Secondly, there is nothing on the outside that is well-lit to guide a first-time user to that area. At first glance, the entire strip mall looks abandoned at that time of night. It has an aura of an extremely dangerous area and one can't get leave fast enough if not familiar with the surroundings. Needless to say, I left without the truck. The next morning around 7:30, I received a call from one of your reps asking if I was planning to keep my reservation, and I told her what happened and that I was on my way there for a second time. When I arrived at the location to do the online check-in, the process stops halfway through and does not proceed to the next page. I called the rep for a second time, and she just sent me another link via text with a short video to help out with the checking in process, but it did not help whatsoever. Finally, another rep picked up my call who was very helpful enough to check me in remotely once she sensed my frustration, and gave me the code for the lockbox to retrieve the truck's keys. I have rented from uhaul in no less than 9 states through the years and it has always been a manageable process, ranging from easy to slow (mostly because of understaffing). This was, by FAR, the worst experience. I suggest that someone within the company give a thorough vetting of this particular location as it only brings about a black eye to a corporation's reputation. This will have been my first - and last - time renting from Southern Ave location. Merci.HIRUYABRAHA T.
Location is super convenient. Guys at the furniture store were relatively helpful but you can tell that the Uhaul portion is secondary to their main business furniture sales. Also, after opening the truck bed, the truck had a fair amount of debris (markers, pens, paper, wood chips, etc) that were clearly left over from the previous mover. Also, there was a dead mouse inside the back of the truck. I removed it and sprayed down the truck. Also informed the guys working at the furniture store, but they seemed only moderately concerned...PHILLIP W.
