Took an hour and a half to get our truck and car tow dolly. We had originally requested an appliance dolly but they did not have one so we didn't get one. Truck smelled like smoke and back of it was disgusting and had to be cleaned out before we could even load the itemsJolene G.

This was the 2nd Uhaul truck we rented this week. Rented from same pickup location in Alaucha and 1st drop off location was in the same town in Zolfo Spings only 5 miles from us. Today as we were attempting to drop off the truck to this same location in Zolfo, we get a call from Macks Discount Foods Uhaul in Ft Meade that the truck was late and the location was 27 miles from us in Polk, another county completely, I tried to explain this to them and they were rude, had an attitude telling me the truck was already rented out and now that person was ticked. I called Laura at Uhaul 813 247-5016 and she told me the drop off site should have been close to the same place where we moved to and she would send a message to the Macks Uhaul not to charge us because drop off information was wrong. I drove 27 miles, and was charged 40 for extra day, and 14 extra on fuel and the truck had more fuel in it than when we picked it up, totalling amount of 70,80 $ being charged to my credit card. I will not be using Uhaul again. This is not good business practice.thomas V.

They charged me for a dolly that they ended up not having . Then told me I would be refunded for the dolly when I turn the truck in. So when I turned my truck in they almost made me pay for a brand new dolly!!!!! Also I was sent to a drop-off location that closed 2 hrs before my 24 hrs was up thus costing me an extra 56 $for uhauls incompetence !!! The truck leaked and got my stuff wet . And I gave a cash deposit which I was told I'd get back upon return of the truck . Well I didn't I had to get a prepaid card and wait 2 days for my deposit that was left after I was robbed of 56 $from it for uhauls incompetence . I will never use uhaul again after this experience. I see customers are not as important as making money any way you canMary B.

We rented a dolly for am hour and was charged for 4 days. Went back to rent again paid cash and was charged again on our card. You are messing with our bank account which affects the bills we need to pay. We are very upset.BOBBIE G.
I have rented with U-Haul many times before and this is by far the worst location I have rented from. When I arrived to pick up my rental, I was told to wait in the corner of the gas station until he could assist me. It should be noted, I was standing alone inside the corner of a gas station. I waited for approximately 20 minutes until the attendant came back over. He then quickly clicked through my online reservation on his computer behind the cash register. After he clicked through the reservation, he said he couldn't give me a receipt because his printer didn't work. He told me just to take pictures of whatever I wanted on the vehicle. I thought the way he presented the location, his facility, himself, and U-Haul was very unprofessional and I refuse to use U-Haul in the future because of my terrible experience.Victoria B.

The oil was low and we purchased and used an entire quart of oil, but it could have used more. The people we rented from were really nice but. It well trained on the uhaul computer system. It took a long time to check out and check in the truck we rented. I opted to use the online site to do it myself. So I basically did their job for them. If I had to do all the work and out oil in the truck I could at least have gotten a discount or waived mileage or something.Jesus C.
this truck had no interior lights and the cargo lights also did not work so I had to stop loading at dark therefore it took me twice as long to load.jennifer S.
My reservation was moved to another city. An email was sent, but if I'm not expecting an email. I would not be aware of it. That happened and was a bad problem. I took a smaller truck and settled for something that was not planned for and created a 45 additional effort to sort out all the problems and cancellation of the other city reservation.WILLIAM P.

Originally my reservation was confirmed for a 15 ft U-Haul. On Monday I confirmed again with Aisha my reservation. On Tuesday I was sent notification to reconfirm. When I spoke with Aisha again she verified that there were 2 15 foot trucks at the location. When I arrived they only had (2) 26 foot trucks. I was charged 147,00 $ and they stated that I could not modify the contract to what it was originally. Aisha stated she put comments in the system so that when I dropped it off in Clermont Florida they could make necessary adjustments.C A S.

It took an hour to do the paperwork for me to get the truck on Tuesday night. It's another 30 minutes to return it Wednesday night. Of the 12 moving blankets I rented, only four were usable because the other eight were soaking wet and smelled awful. The store manager could not have been nicerâ€¦ He was very eager to help me in anyway he could. But the location of the gas station was at the outskirts of town, and I did not feel comfortable leaving my vehicle there overnight. So, I had to arrange for someone to drive 30 minutes and come and pick me up that Wednesday evening when I returned to the gas station. The truck itself was very clean, and it drove well... But the engine light came on about an hour into the trip and stayed on the rest of the time which made for a very nerve-racking return drive! While I am grateful to have had the truck, and grateful to the store manager for getting me the equipment I needed that was not with the truck as it should have beenâ€¦ I doubt I will rent from U-Haul again. When we rented they did it for that night instead of Sat morning which is when we picked up truck because he said he didn't know how to do it as reserving for next day...so everything was rushed and unorganized so the truck could be returned so we didn't have to pay extra day charges. Truck also had food crumbs and a Walmart type bag of trash in it. Will never use uhaul again.KELLY N.
U-Haul needs to select locations that provide help for hooking up the U-Haul. The man wanted me to lift the trailer and hook up the trailer to my car. He swore he did not know how to hook it up.Kim D.

1. Have someone who is competent and responsible AND who speaks English to deal your equipment. 2. Design a larger trailer or at least offer another larger size trailer to accommodate people who need to transport trucks. Half of all vehicles on the road are trucks. 3. Took this guy over an hour just to complete the online application, possibly the first time he'd ever used a computer. Couldn't use cash said I had to use a credit card but he had no card scanner. He had to rely totally on tech support to process my application. Wasted time I could have been moving. GET THE GUY A CARD SCANNER!!GARY M.

There isn't enough room! I reserved this truck from the Gandy location 1 month ahead of time, and had I not stopped in the day before to ask a question, I would not have known that they were going to switch my pick up location to a FLOWER SHOP in downtown! Flower shop person was EXTREMELY nice (considering how angry I was) at having my location switched! The vehicle had NO HORN, but no one informed me of that (kind of an important safety feature don't you think)? The attitude of the employees on Gandy was so uncaring and unconcerned, I WOULD NEVER USE A UHAUL TRUCK AGAIN! I was actually told that they only had 1 (one) truck in the entire area that could go ONE WAY (because they were still making payments on the other vehicles)! I said it back to the girl who said it to me to confirm what she said, and she said that was correct! How freaking stupid and ridiculous! After being sent to downtown Tampa to pick up "the only truck UHaul has that goes one way"-the pick up location was a flower shop, and no one mentioned that to me at all! How freaking stupid! When I called the Gandy office to say that I couldn't find the UHAUL place, the girl there told me in a very sarcastic tone (it's a flower shop ma'am)! How stupid of me not to automatically associate a UHAUL rental place with a freaking one-woman flower shop! IDIOTS...all of you! NEVER AGAIN....NEVER AGAIN...NEVER again. And I will post this same information on FB, and everywhere else I can post it for all other people to see and be warned of the ineptness of UHAUL on Gandy Blvd. Pre-registered on line to save time? I did it. 1 hour to pick up the truck from the flower shop because they didn't have all the info they needed from UHAUL on GANDY! I have never seen such an inadequate, antiquated, uncaring place in my life. Not even the decency to call me and tell me my pick up location changed...just a text. Screw you too!RITA C.

The personnel (Carol) was extremely nice and pleasant. However, here is my biggest complaint. I reserved a truck 3-4 days in advance. I drove down to Tampa from Marietta, Georgia. I thought I was renting the truck from a U-haul center. Carol did inform me that her husband would not be there to hook up the trailer but she knew how to do everything but lift the trailer. Here was the problem: 1) I got there for pick up and she knew nothing about hitching the trailer 2) I hitched the trailer what I thought was correct. 3) As we tried loading the car, the trailer flew upward 4) Once we got the car on, we had to re-position the truck for the hitch. Again, not knowing if the hitch is hooked correctly, we went to a U-haul center. The U-haul center was closer to the location of the place we were moving from. My questions are: 1) Why wasn't our reservation secured at the U-haul center instead of a flower shop that rent trucks? 2) If a person is registering for a trailer (to place all four wheels on), shouldn't there be a requirement for the location to have someone available to secure the hitch? 3) If the hitch came off and hit someone, do you think that person would have sued me or U-haul? The publicity U-haul would had received plus the potential lawsuit of the victim could have been costly. Needless to say, I was very disappointed in the entire process. After an additional two hours trying to get everything secured, we finally got on the road. This is the first time I've experienced problems with U-haul. I've always used your services in the past. However, I hope you accept this feedback as a gift opposed to a criticism. Not to mention, the 2 dozens pads we reserved where not in the truck either. As most people experience stress during moves, this was uncalled for stress created by the scheduling/pickup of your equipment. Thank you for your time and I hope this information can help your customers in the future. I did tip the person at the U-haul center for helping us make sure everything was secured. He was nice (unfortunately cut his hand when changing out the wiring to make sure the lights worked). I did not get his name but he spent 30 years in the Marine Corp. Location closer to the Hillsboro area @ the U-haul center.JEFFERY R.

I called many, many times to figure out the right place to drop off my uhaul- I was told this is right place by the 1800 #, but there was no drop box so I had to come by again later in the day with the keys. I was told everything was fine - then I was charged for extra gas + cleanup- when I called about these charges I was told that I didn't fold the furniture blankets and had left a lampshade in the vehicle - I was yelled at by the manager of the platt st place. I was yelled at to the point that I cried because he was so rude and unkind to me. He told me my car was way below 1/4 with the gas but when I got the email it said I was at 1/4 (although when I dropped it off I was above). He challenged me to come to his store & see if I didn't believe him. I was so upset by the way he spoke to me- I will NEVER EVER use Uhaul again and I'm going to tell everyone I know about my AWFUL experience and tell them not go to Uhaul as well. I am appalled at how this was handled - I then called the 1800 #, explained how I was treated and a woman assured me that someone from the Regional Office would call me - but no one ever did. Both locations were great but customer svc 1800 # was terrible trying to change drop off location to a closet one. 1st rep said we can't change it. 2nd rep said it was ok. When I got there there was no drop box. Store said it was closed Sunday on the door and so did the call center rep. I had to take the keys with me. Then I get a call on Sunday from the store asking for the keys. So they actually were open.BOA R.

The truck was returned after the store closed and I was supposed to recieve a call notifying me of the total bill charged to my credit card. I did not receive a phone call and when I called Downtown Tampa Florist to find out the amount they claimed that they did not rent trucks and were only a florist!
