We were told where the truck 'should be located outside' and were never shown the truck by the employee. The gas gauge was never discussed or shown as to what the level of gasoline was. We assumed we should replace the fuel level to what it was upon renting the truck. When we got to the drop off location, we were going to be charged $12.75 for additional fuel. The drop off location refunded and erased this cost because we left the truck with MORE fuel in it than when we rented off of the Akron lot. The trick was very dirty inside with a used paper towel and old snacks/food on the floor, dirt and debri all over the seats, floor, and dashboard. The employee also informed us that since we were renting for a one way trip, he couldn't get the computer to change to one day instead of two. He also told us we would be refunded a portion of money for the "extra day".

Upon arrival and trying to use the automated check in system via the U-Haul app on my phone I was not able to. I kept experiencing an error that would not allow me to check in. I chatted with online customer service they could not figure out the error after spending 20 mins with them in chat I decided to call the toll free customer service line. I spent 30 mins with them and they could not figure it out and told me they were going to cancel my reservation and I should book another online to see if that cleared up the error. I did as instructed and I received the same error. Mind you him have movers waiting at my place charging me by the hour. After another 10 minutes I called back into customer service and this time I received someone who knew what was going on. U-Haul never out the truck number is my rental on the reservation so it was not a complete reservation thus causing the error when trying to check in. Now I spend 1.5 hours trying to pick up a truck causing me to be billed for moving services that I could not utilize for that timeframe. Terrible experience with U-Haul. Supposedly I’m going to get a call from a district manager this week..we will see if that happens.

The odometer on that particular truck needs to be re calibrated. When I referenced it against my GPS and other vehicles it was adding 2/10 of a mile to every mile. 2/10 of a mile for every mile will add up and cost the customer a lot more money in the long run.

gentleman working there knew nothing about the truck or its equipment (straps etc) when asked about them he shrugged it off and said he didnt know too amny other companies around who are knowledgeable and want to help

As prompted I selected where I wanted to pick up and drop off and U-Haul send me to places out of my way. They demand gas put back where it was or they charge you but they don’t reimburse for gasoline I The tank that is over what is in it prior to you taking it. That would be so easy to deduct that from the mileage charge . And when you talk to the assistant they argue the same thing over and over which doesn’t make since. I’ve used your company several times I recent years but I believe I won’t use U-Haul again or recommend it to anyone. You really are not a customer service type of place. Both of the rentals the past two weeks had a lot more gas in them when I dropped them off then when I picked them up but I’m out of luck getting any credit for them. You asked.

The truck I rented was in good overall condition except for one area. As am aircraft and auto mechanic I immediately recognized that it has "front end" problems because of the fact that while driving it wanders left and right and requires constant correction. This undoubtedly means that either the ball joints are very worn or the tie rod(s) are very worn: maybe both.

A location that does not sell/ rent hitches and sell/ rent wiring harnesses and help set up towing should NEVER be utilized. U Haul is known for that service--I could store them at my house for you if you're just pointing and saying" there it is, go hook it up" ridiculous ! Very disappointing from U Haul. Had no idea. Drove all over Gods creation to find plug in and a hitch. Had no way to test brake lights by myself when I hooked up. Absurd . Cand I store these at my shop yard and get paid by UHaul too ?? please

The store supposed to open at 9 am, i choose online to pick it at that time. But the woman who work there was late, didnt show up until 915. Plus i did all check in stuff online and she took more than 20 minutes to check me in again, am only not satisfaied because i chose also 2 hrs for the moving helpers and wasted my time on waiting for her and i was charged for nothing

After returning truck, I was over charged on mileage(30 miles). This took several days to get corrected on my credit card. Associate at Manchester storage had wrote down the wrong mileage when I returned the truck. Associate never did apologize for the mistake.

Truck broke down less than 1 mile from where picked up. Could not get another truck until roadside assistance confirmed it needed to be towed. 2nd truck (2 hours later) was parked on ice and had to be pushed out of the parking space. It took longer to get the truck than to move all my belongings. Ridiculous.

It was stressful enough for my family during our move from Akron, Oh to Tennessee and JoAnn at Manchester Storage added to that stress for us when we went to pick up the trailer. We chose that location because it was close to our house so we could pack our car with more of our stuff & my husband wouldn't have to drive the car very far loaded.We also had a pick up full of our belongings along with our animals headed for a 12 hour road trip & was wanting to get the car trailer rented & car loaded as soon as possible so we could get on the road. JoAnn was not at all helpful in fulfilling that happening. She was in the parking lot 2 to 3 times demanding that we leave instead of loading our car and blocking anybody. It was 9:30am even if we were blocking any part of the storage units which we were not NOBODY else was there. She refused to assist us in any way claiming they were only a "CONTRACTED" U-Haul location and we couldn't load there. When we asked where we could load, she said anywhere but here.

Had to drive 45 min out of way to pick up after being told I could pick it up at the rental site I reserved it at. No assistance in fixing this error. Gas was left at 1/4 tank so more time wasted filling up before the move. Time was money and uhaul wasted a good 2 hrs overall with pick up, checking in, fueling up and recalculating the mileage difference from a differ location. Poooor customer service on uhauls part. No resolution with 2 differ # I was given to discuss the problems.

Employees did not demonstrate on use of truck and proper use of latch. They never offered to show me or ask if I knew how to use truck. Most of my time was spent on self taught use of latch. First destination door was 1/4 open because latch not secured. Had to use bungee cords to secure door because of no knowledge of latch. When I explained this to employees she in return said I would have shown you if you asked. Why would I ask if I already stated I have no experience with moving trucks. I will never use this facility again. She didn't offer any compensation for loss of my time and money I experienced in this situation.

By far one of the easiest and most friendly U-Haul locations I have ever done business with. Manchester Storage was the only provider that had a 17' truck available and no problem accommodating my 7 day rental and when I needed an extra day for a total of an 8 day rental, the lady that works the front desk was very helpful in giving me the extra time with no issues. I have nothing but good things to say about Manchester Storage. Thank you for assisting me with my move minus all of the hassle most U-Haul locations come with! This is where I will continue to take my money whenever I have to pack up and move again.
