There was a leak in the exhausts. There was something wrong with the muffler. The light in the back of the truck did not work making it very difficult to unload and the fan/defrost did not work and I had to keep pulling over and wiping it down myself. Because of the exhaust issue it teamed of gas and it was hard to breath. The branch I received the u haul DIDNT seem to care. Also they had multiple(6-7) pints of empty voldka bottles i. Their recycling bin. Very worrysome. Very unimpressedjillian S.

The lady at the cash/checkout is very unprofessional. Having conversations with other people in the office instead of just dealing with the customer in front of her. I've had two encounters with her in the past month and neither were professional. 3/10 for her However the gentleman that works there in the garage was very kind and helpful. 10/10 for him!MadelaineRose H.

U-Haul was well maintained and as clean as any U-Haul you get at any location. I would recommend this location, but I would caution against one very talkative worker who slows things down and then blames the customer when the U-Haul isn't returned within 24-hrs despite a 2-day booking. I was given the option of 'one-way return' to save on mileage cost (by a different, more helpful, worker). The very talkative worker took over to chat with U-Haul staff on the phone to get the 'one-way return' approved.. but mostly chatted about kitchen appliances and other things (likely distracting and slowing down the person who was working on my contract over the phone with her). When I finally got out after about 40min, they got someone to check the fluids on the U-Haul I was gonna take (could've been done within the 40min it took to process the rental in the office, but what's another 5min at that point). I can credit the talkative worker for knowing that leaving a voice msg gets the higher office to response quicker. It's a nice casual and friendly atmosphere here.. until this talkative person calls you the next day to throw blame and threaten about higher charges. I got a refund instead, so all is good again :)Bonnie G.

I filled out all my information for my reservation, then I spent another half hour giving that same information when I picked up my vehicle. Gas mileage was incorrect and not labeled correctly on my contract. V8 truck gasoline plus 0,9 per kilometre was a rip off, never again!Stacey K.
Despite booking and receiving confirmation for my rental, when I showed up to pick up my truck it was not returned. Gen, luckily, was able to work her magic and get us a smaller truck for our move. Unfortunately, this truck was too small and we ended up having to rent two trucks which was incredibly stressful. When we went to pick up the second truck, the truck we reserved was not returned again and this added unnecessary stress to an already stressful situation. The only reason I would ever recommend uhaul again would be Gen's customer service. She immediately was on the phone with uhaul to find us trucks for the timeframe we needed and was actually able to help.Kirstin B.

As always we had a great experience with the Millidgeville location. The truck was clean and ready for us. The paperwork process was seamless, and the staff was extremely friendly. We will always come back to this location for our rentals.Mark P.
When I wwnt to pick up my reservation was wrong and it somehow ended up with someone else's driver's license attached to the file. Had to wait an hour to get this sorted outRebecca S.
The only issue I have is that I did filled out the recommended online information as it promised a quicker process while picking up the vehicle. I still had to wait in a long line up and the employee working actually said I may have over road their system. I left with the truck rental close to an hour after expected time. So really for a six hour rental only had five hours. Another thing was that I booked a 15' truck. Two nights before moving day I received a voicemail stating that size truck was not available and they changed my reservation to a 26 foot which is far too large for our need and pricier on gas. I ended up changing the reservation to a half ton truck which was very easy to do online. On day of rental there ended up being a 15' available after all but we decided to stick with the pick up. The overall experience was good with some inconveniences that in the end worked out fine anyway.David L.
The location was not the issue. It was the availability of the vehicles. We originally rented a cube van; we were down graded to a cargo van. I had to pick it up at 130 and have it returned by 530. The contract says that the 24-hr period of rental is $19,99 per day, says it right there on the side of the van. I had to return the van because your company rented it out again, if you did this for every 4 hour period in a day your company can collect 6 times the daily rental because I had to return it within 4 hours. So mathematically I should only have to pay about $3 instead of the $19,99Marlene T.

Went to Palmer Brook rd for the reservation I had booked on Sept 21st (which is quite close to the house I was moving out of, and in between it and the house I was moving to), and when I walked in the door the employee told me that there wasn't a truck available, unless I wanted a small 10 foot box truck. I was rather irate and asked how that's possible considering I had a reservation, to which he told me that it's basically first come first serve and that the truck I reserved wouldn't be back till the following day. Felt like I was being told "too bad so sad". I wouldn't accept that as an answer so the employee called the U-haul call center and they organized another truck in Millidgeville (in the nearby city) which involved driving on a slow moving, construction laden highway to go pick it up. I had no choice since I had people waiting to help move our belongings. When arriving at that location, the employee was nice enough to inform me that I was taking someone else's reservation that had reserved it for a late pick-up, but apparently I was bumping them because I wasn't "happy"... way to make a customer feel appreciated for their business. If I had of had an alternative at that point I would have walked away, leaving my explicit comments with that cheery employee. On a positive note, the call center person contacted early on did reduce my per mile cost as a consolation for the extra mileage I would have to drive to and from, but that savings was chewed up by the increased fuel I burned/replaced going to that location. Hope that helps explain, Moe. P.S. the truck I picked up smelled of cigarettes and was quite muddy in the driver's area, on top of that the box of the truck being rather dirty. I took pictures I anyone cares to see them. I did return it with a swept cargo area, but wasn't cleaning the cab.Maurice R.
I was directed to this location because the truck I reserved at a closer location wasn't available. Even though I received a cost per mile reduction the added distance ended up costing me extra money and time. I was happy they made a truck available for me though.Glenn F.
Picked up a 26ft truck and it had a service engine light on, called the area manager and was told to bring the truck to a tire place so they could check the code. After wasting a couple hours of my morning the truck had to be replaced, I was told to drive the truck 20 mins away for a replacement. Once I got the replacement it too had a check engine light on! They checked the code and tried to fix something but the light was still on. They told me this was the only truck they had and assured me it would make it to Toronto from NB . Since my house was closing the next day I had no choice but to trust them and since my day was already half gone I took the truck. Now I did make it to Toronto but the check engine light was on the whole way and more then half my day was gone changing trucks and basically working for uhaul to fix the truck. I believe this is horrible customer service to be making you clients run around with a broken truck Not happy!Joseph M.

The truck smelled like an outhouse. The check engine light was on and black smoke was coming out of the back. It had an empty coke bottle and someone's ball cap was in the door. Just with covid, my expectations were higher.Lenore M.

I'm not sure where this issue is caused but I reserved a small truck (as that was all I needed) and was told I could only have a 26 foot truck because I was leaving it at the destination. This resulted in me having to spend about 150 more in gas that I would have had to with a smaller truck,. This should have been told to me at reservation time and not the day before I needed to pickup the truck.Tim F.
I went to pick up my rental and uhaul has designated a truck for my use (that I had rented a month in advance) that I could not use and had to switch locations. Upon pickup, we discovered the new truck I was given could not be delivered to where it was supposed to be, ending up with me having to return the truck myself, costing me 3 hours of my time right after moving. Then I could not drop off the uhaul at the location because no one updated the contract to return it, so I was charged close to 200$ for a wrong location drop off, which im still waiting for a refund on. I do not fault the location, they were understanding and great to work with, but uhaul's rental system.Kent I.

Trailers need to be equipped with crank handled jacks to make the hitching of the HEAVIER trailers easier. After hours drop off by a single person without help to remove the trailer from a vehicle trailer hitch ball is almost impossible due to the weight of the trailer........Philip S.

I had to wait an hour from my initial reservation to get the truck. I needed it from 9:15 Friday morning till Saturday at 4. It was to be returned at 4, however we ran into some issues and when called to try and bring it a little late was told no, even though they were charging for me 2 DAYS. When I returned the trailer I was informed that I had to unhitch the trailer myself. Usually not an issue but this hitch was not like any I have seen. The lady working informed me that she was the sole employee at the place at 4 pm and she didn't know how to do it. After struggling with it for 20 minutes i did get it free from the hitch. The employee said it was my responsibility to do it so I informed her that she should have the person who hitched the trailer when I got it should have demonstrated the proper way to unhitch. She didn't like that idea. Still said it was my responsibility. Not pleased with this location at all. Most likely will never use it again.Michael O.

Upon arrival to pick up the vehicle, we were advised that we needed 2 references, which was a total surprise to us. I had spoken with one of your reps when I booked the rental, and there was no mention if this. And past experiences, we were never asked for references at other u haul centers Interesting that you can rent an automobile for weeks at a time without references but it needed to rent a uhaul for a few hours. This absolutely makes no sense. Also, there should be a focus on the improvement in customer service skills of the person working at the service center. I had chosen remote pick up since it was a holiday but staff came in to ensure pickup went smoothly anyways which I thought was fantastic (I'm not super tech friendly and had issues trying to do remote pick up in the past). There was some safety pins that were spilled in the truck I'm assuming by the previous user but other than that it was nice and clean and ready to go! I really appreciate the staff going to extra mile by coming in on a holiday!!Malinda H.

The tires on the trailer I rented were completely bald, and the rubber was cracking. I was shocked as these tires would not pass inspection in any province or state. When I showed it to the Uhaul dealer, his response was, I think it will make it one more trip, but maybe you should take the insurance just incase you blow a tire in the highway". I find it negligent, and an intentional avoidance of due diligence that uhaul would allow a rental to leave their property in this state. "Taking the insurance" will not bring back a live if it causes a fatal accident.Doug M.
I did not receive the truck that was reserved. They only had a bigger truck which was hard to drive and maneuver. I was double charged for the day and insurance and have not been able to contact anyone to clear it up. The day I wanted to rent was a holiday so had to pick up and drop off much farther away than a location that was closer.Mary M.
Location- There was nowhere for my son to park my car while dropping me off and picking me up. He had to park down the road and wait for my call to come get me after I paid. Cleanliness - I guess, to a typical young man's rate. Popcorn left in between seats on the floor. Empty oil bottle behind the seat. It appears the dash was wiped down with a dry cloth and the dirt was shoved in between the cracks. Maintained - No. At least 2 fuses were blown which were determined upon pickup of the trailer (the trailer's tail lights did not power on). We had to get them replaced. The tires were bald. However, I did voice my concerns to the man working. He was hesitant on providing a rebate but then offered $100 off which I think is reasonable for our inconveniences. It is unlikely that we will be doing business with the Millidgeville office again though. I still value U-haul's products and services.Monica P.

I reserved my truck at a different location and it was not sent there. You sent me emails with the address I reserved, and one text with the address above. I ended up having to drive an extra half hour and be very late for my truck, PLUS the mileage ended up being a ridiculous amount because the pick up and drop off location was so far away (75 miles rather than 20 miles). I was VERY displeased and do not intend to use your services ever again, or recommend to anyone. In fact I will likely discourage their use of your services.Adrienne C.
there was some garbage in the front as well as some change so it was not cleaned in between usage which it should have been considering covid. there was an extreme issue with reversing the van. When I had to reverse the van there was not power steering at all. I had to use all my strength to turn the steering wheel and because of where I was parked i had to move forward then reverse then forward, .then reverser again until i managed to go forward. I was worried that I could not drive the van straight because while i was doing the reverse forward thing I had issues with the steering then also, but it was fine once i was steering straight after a bit.. I have never been to such a poorly ran an establishment. Amounts the never ending list, the workers, as well as the owner, were yelling, swearing and having conversations instead of serving us. At one point, one of the workers came in and showed the cashier, who was supposed to be serving us, a white pill in her hand. Right then, She left her station and went off to the washroom with the other woman as we waited to continue to be served. She was making us ask many irrelevant questions - we had been there before and my boyfriend's name was in the system. They never grilled him like this last time. She was beyond rude to my boyfriend pretending like she couldn't understand him and looked to me to repeat everything he said. They were using derogatory terms such as the n word, when my partner who was there with me, is clearly African. We were in there for 45 mins waiting for the truck we reserved, and the cashier had the nerve to tell us we had to get it back to her in the next hour - we had originally reserved it for two hours, but they wasted so much time doing other things instead of serving us. The vehicle was dirty and smelled like smoke. I will never return nor will I suggest anyone go in there. This establishment is a disgrace, and I do not believe U Haul would want their name to be associated to it if they knew this.Nonso O.
