I wonder why the cost of rental varies so much based on seasonal demand? End of June costs were $60 more than end of August for the same equipment and for the same distance.

I did not have a good experience with my pick up or drop off . The app I was on told us to which truck we were suppose to get . It was not to be found in the parking lot at all . Then we were instructed to look for a truck with a certain licence plate . We located that one and then were given a bow number and a code to retrieve the code to open it . We were on our way finally after about an hour . Then upon returning the truck I wasn't able to enter in the proper information because of the original mess up with the wrong truck number . We spent about another hour trying to get that figured out . Then we were told we were 26miles over our limit so we had to pat the difference but when we returned it with more gas in it than when we picked it up we sure didn't get a refund for that ! Over all it was a very stressful time we had going on and this only added to it but with this said , the truck did get us to our destination safe and sound . If we had to rent a truck from U Haul again we would . Maybe next time it would go smoother .

Robin LHead office gave wrong info when asked to get closer drop off than original Baysville. Several unanswered calls and long waits! Told 1414 Aspdin Rd. When got there they don't take trailers. Then had to haul it to Dwight. Doug was very good.

WILLIAMNORMAN MMy uhaul was set up for after hours pick up at the location. The app had it set as in person. That was ok because the lady at this location gave me a direct number to call if there was issues 343-780-2031, that was the part that was ANYTHING but pleasant. The man I spoke to was yawning in the phone at me, be minimally helpful, speaking rude, I asked him questions that I was unaware of and he told me it "commonsense" to know it, this being my first time renting one, I had no idea!! I asked if I could speak to another person that could be more respectful after I was getting impatient and becoming unpleasant as well. His response was he would cancel my rental agreement. This "customer" service representative should not be representing the company like this, he was speaking as if I was wasting his time by trying to understand how the rental worked. Feel free to find the recorded call, if it was recorded.

EUGENIUSZ BThe year is 2021 The mission is to move my mothers possessions from Kingston New Brunswick to Sudbury Ontario. After much deliberation, I decided to use U-Haul. The website promised a seamless move via a U-box. The promise u-haul made was so simple, A ) we will drop a u-box in your yard. You fill it at your convenience. B) we will pick it up then store it until you have a date and an address for delivery. C) we will bring the u-box to the address where you can empty it at your convenience. D) we will pick up the empty box. Easy Peasy ! None of that happened. We happily paid the price for transport to Ontario. When we called to have the u-box dropped off they informed us there were none available in our area. Don't worry you can rent a 10' u-haul truck drive for 1 1/2 hours to our nearest location, Fredricton! When the they tried to arrange for the 10' truck there were none available but don't fret we have a 15' available. Having never driven a truck or been to Fredricton, I was very nervous. If that wasn't enough the truck was 30 minutes away in the wrong direction. Picked up big truck, drive back to Mother's, load drive to Fredricton, unload drive back to drop off site, then back to mothers. Bill for truck including fuel $389.00. Don't worry all is good we will move the 7-box to Ontario. They did give us a call to say it had arrived, don't worry we can store it here until you have your new address. Unfortunately because of the pandemic and lack of housing we had to store her belongings for one year. Finally success we have an address, we call to give them address and date to ship, only to be informed it would cost approximately $1 000 to ship to Sudbury Ontario from Dwight Ontario, WE HAD ALREADY PAID OVER $1000.00. Plus plus! After lots of calls, to the Dwight, requests to speak to a manager (who never returned our calls) we were forced once again to hire another truck. This time driving 3 hours each way. The only good thing I can say about the whole ordeal is that the contents of the box are perfect no damage , dry and mold free. Will I ever trust U-Haul again, NEVER!
BRENDAL CYou can tell Muskoka Service Centre that there is a u haul location in Burlington, so they can select it for the drop off. Currently, the Muskoka Centre does not have an address for a Burlington location, so they are not able to set up the drop off there. Similarly, the u haul location in Burlington Aldershot has no idea that there is a Muskoka Service centre uhaul on Hwy 60, so they can't select that as a drop off. You guys really need to get your "sh.." together or update your computer system because it makes you look like idiots.

Lorne WThe Muskoka service center's poor communication efforts not only caused me emotional distress, but it also caused me to call the provincial police and submit and police report. The service center told me and my witness in person that I was to call them to tell them when I was done filling my U-Box so that it could be shipped on August 24th. What they neglected to tell me is that they were going to be closed for the week; and this was not stated in their answering machine recording as well. When I called the customer support lines for Uhaul they hung up/ put me back in the queue FIVE separate times. When I could not resolve this with Uhaul I called the police. When I called the Muskoka Service center on August 31st, a full week after my box was supposed to be shipped out. They told me they didn't know if my box was shipped out or not and that they were closed for the week. No explanation or apology. When they called back later they said that they had shipped it out but didn't know when. Turns out that date was August 31st as I got my email stating that my box has just been shipped. Naturally, I have all my calls with the Muskoka service center recorded for proof. No one at the time of filling my box told me they were going to be Closed, nor did they give me another method of making sure my items would arrive on time to its destination. Now because of their actions my items are arriving on the 8th; 5 days after it's guaranteed delivery date of the 3rd. I am currently looking for a resolution for this.
Cher DNone of the information that we entered online when we "pre-registered " online was in their system. Had to do it again. Central booking did not record when we had dropped off trailer on July 19, even though we phoned and they said they would. Your central system is not integrated well with all the locations.
Moira CAfter being sent an hour away from our requested pick up location in Gravenhurst and sent to Dwight, we were told we were being given an 'upgrade' to a bigger vehicle, despite no need for a bigger van. Although mileage was taken off and accounted for because of our extra drive, having a bigger van meant paying for more gas. And of course we had to pay to for our personal gas in our car to pick up the rental, and the extra 2 hours of our time to collect the vehicle. We were also shocked at the state of the van. It was absolutely not cleaned or prepped for us. I expected the van to be sanitized because of the Pandemic, but when I wiped the steering wheel, seat belts and handles the lysol wipes became brown with grime. Not impressed. There were also cigarette butts left inside and it smelled of smoke. There is no excuse for the equipment being dirty at this time, we were very uncomfortable.

For example the gas station closest to their location was closed after 1:00pm so we could not get fuel to return the truck. Rachel asked her boss for guidance, and we came up with a great solution. Scott DNobody was there and the mobile return process did not work. I have been charged for returning a tank empty which is not true. It was half full which is double what was required!!!
STUART JService was great at this location. However, the vehicle I was to tow would not fit on the dolly that was recommended by the uhaul website. I returned the dolly and tried to get a refund but I was told by the regional manager. (no one at this location) I would only get half my money back as I had the dolly for the weekend before I discovered the dolly would not work with my vehicle. U haul should not have recommended a unit that would not work with the vehicle I said I would be towing. I gave all specs of the vehicle I was towing and still this dolly was recommended (the website) .The vehicle I was going to tow with the dolly is completely stock, not lowered, no low profile tires etc. The clearance needed where the tires sit in the dolly is 7 inches and the clearance of my vehicle off the ground is 6 inches. I would have to remove my whole front bumper in order to use the dolly. U-haul should come up with a better system to choice units before a costumer is out money for something that couldn't be used for its purpose.

Bob SOk, this was a cross country move where we needed to fly to Huntsville, Ont. from Calgary, Ab. pick up the ubox from Dwight, bring it to a tiny lake, pack it and bring it back to the depot, in the same weekend. When the ubox arrived, it did not get shipped with a trailer so we could not tow it from the depot. Luckily, the manager leant us a truck to use, so we drove the truck to Huntsville, loaded it, drove it to Dwight, unloaded it, loaded the ubox and then left it to be picked up. When it finally arrived a week late, I was told by your customer svc rep that you could not call when your driver was coming, nor could they wait 5 minutes (literally) for my husband to come from work (down the street from our house) but that I would need to take 4 hours unpaid from my job, to be home sometime between 10&2 for your convenience, otherwise it would be another week late. Then the driver showed up at 9:40 so thank god I got home at 9:30, otherwise I'd have missed the driver, waited for hours and then had to wait another week, according to your rep. Needless to say, your manager in Dwight was amazing for stepping up and helping out after a screw up like that, because apparently your uboxes and trailer/platforms to tow them do not go hand in hand, but the rest of this has just been a total clusterfuck during an already very upsetting time (my grandmother had passed away, we were moving her things across the country and it has been a very emotional, stressful time for my family) and it is clear that there is no consideration for the costumer, we just have to bend over for you, macyver a plan after you make a mistake, adjust our schedules and take unpaid time off work since we know no one with a truck, so we are at the mercy of your schedule and we get our stuff when it works for you. We've dealt with your company numerous times for truck rentals for in town, and you're great for that, but it seems you struggle beyond the basics. I had put in a complaint 2 weeks ago that required a response and have yet to receive one. Par for the course with you. Liz

Gordon NThe customer service I received on the phone regarding the location of the drop off was clear and expedient. She also sent a text confirming with the address and location. It would also be helpful if the address was actually on the contract, not just a phone number to call. Aside from locations, I am NOT happy with getting a bill for $0,9 today. Yes I was 2 miles over the distance on the contract however, I dropped off the vehicle on Saturday instead of Sunday; a U-Haul rep called me yesterday and confirmed my total was $534,49 AND I left more fuel in the tank than required - no credits or refunds were offered for either of these items plus my total charged has changed after YOUR agent already confirmed the amount. Do you think billing me an additional $0,9 is good business practice and a positive way to retain me as a client?

ross dDid not provide the proper trailer size on pick-up date despite a phone conversation ahead of time specifying my need for that specific size; unwilling/unable to correct the problem once it arose; erroneously charged me for the rental - $316 - despite my never receiving the trailer (ie charged me for a rental they didn't actually provide). Very frustrating.
