It wasn't so much the location it was the overall experience of UhAul. I booked a month ahead to pick up in cochrane or Timmins at the most 1 hour away hit to had to pick up in new liskeard 3 hours away and then had to drive back from my destination of Peterborough to north bay with an empty truck because this was you demand or I would have a 1300$ penalty. The customer service at the pick up was very good he worked hard to connect me to my truck the owner did the work online at 830 pick up was for 8 I was there in plenty of early time and I had called the night before to arrange pickup…. Will never recommend or use this service again. Even though you paid me the gas of 100$ to return to North bay from peter borough it still cost me more for your convenience Tell me what an extra day and free kms would give me for truck to sit at my destination empty????

I called this location early in the day Friday, to confirm that they did have the trailer I needed. He said yes, he had 2 at that time. I told him great, I'd be there around 2 in the afternoon. Once we got there, he gave me attitude about not being there in 2 hrs, which it had been about 5 since my call and around 2:30 - 3:00. He told me he had a customer who wanted the trailer for a few hours, and he had told him no because I was coming. The trailer was FROZEN to the ground, and in a snow bank. The jack BARELY went up or down. Once we were hooked up and doing the paperwork, he told me he was going to make me a deal... which ended up not being a deal. I gave him $80 cash, Plus $83 on my rental contract.

JOSEPH BThe gentleman who runs the U haul in New Liskeard provides service that goes above and beyond any other experience I have had from Texas, Louisiana, Alberta or BC. I have used his location twice, once for a local move, and once for a trip from New Liskeard to Victoria BC. When my second booking was coming up, and there was no 15 foot available in town, he went to the effort to source one for me in the area. While waiting for service, I have seen him helping young people with correct hookups for trailer towing behind the U haul. This gentleman (and I do not use this word lightly), is an exemplary model of the customer care you might have experienced 40 years ago in a small town, where everyone would be proud to know him. Thank you Mr. D.

PAULA MEverything was great. Fast service. Truck was ready and clean. It was great. My only critique and this isn't about this location, it's about the truck rental in general. I know that were suppose to return the gas with the same amount and that makes sense at which I agree with. What I think would be better for everyone, not U-Haul though for upfront costs, would be to have the tanks full when they're picked up. That way when they're returned you just fill it. Plus I think customers from their perspective would appreciate a full tank before they move. Anyways, just a thought. I don't run the business and don't know the logistics, plus you can simply ignore my comment. Service, was great, trucks great and I appreciate being able to drop it off where I moved to. Thank you for the service you provide.

BRADLEY SBoth of my experiences with this location have been negative. Owner of gas station is very rude and seems to take U-Haul customers after his gas customers and his phone calls. The hours of operation on Google Maps says opens at 9:00 am but they don't want customers to pick up the trucks before 9:30 or 10:00 depends on the day you call. When you wish to reserve the truck for a day only, it's nice to get a jump and start early. We call ahead to ask if we can pick up earlier and they push back and don't want to release it, almost like they want customers to have to pick up at night the day before or keep an extra day longer. Overall very bad service from this U-Haul branch.

BONNIE-GAIL RI cannot access my digital receipt to verify the mileage I paid for against mileage I actually used. I was quoted for a general amount as a deposit but used less than that. Also, I need the receipt for tax purposes and cannot retrieve it.

What is the point of a pick up reservation, if you can't pick up the trailer at the reserved time? Honestly ridiculous that they are wasting people's time like this!

Threatened to charge me for the bread if I didn't return it. Also it had no gas in it when I picked it up
KEVIN BLocation was good. Uhaul sucked. I booked pick up in Barrie. They said unavailable. Would have been a 30 min drive backwards for me to get the recommend one. Thankfully my home location had one but drastically had to change plans. Website needs to do a better job telling people if units are available or not. Hard to trust uhaul

The staff who called me after the drop off was rude and accused me of not filling up the tank and driving more kilometres than what was originally planned. Karlee AI was given a drop off point that no longer was a Uhaul drop off. I went to the Esso because I was told that everything moved there. The guy at the Esso said, " The Uhaul guy doesn't come in until 12:00, so you can just drop it beside the others and write down the trailer number." I dropped it where I was told, and wrote my name, the trailer number, the time and the license plate number on a piece of paper which I brought into the Esso. I later called the Uhaul 800 number, and after being put through to the right department, told them where I had dropped it off to be sure that people were aware. They were helpful and changed my drop off point after I explained the situation. I had an awful lot of driving around and running around, to make sure I wasn't charged late fees or other charges. It was stressful while still unpacking.

TRAVIS WUpdate website to say your not open until 9:30 We requested ahead of time to pick up truck at 9am but the manager refused to get out of his office and made us wait 30mins to get the truck. They had no sympathy and didn't recognize the had agreed to release it at 9 the previous day.
PATRICK CNo vehicle was available at the area I chose months in advance when they called 2 days prior… drove an hour to pick up the U-Haul. Was supposed to pick up the U-Haul at 11:30am, the previous person did not return it until 3pm. Smelt like cigarettes within the driving area. The vehicle was left with 7miles to empty. Terrible service all around. I would not recommend using U-Haul to anyone.

Ron GMy initial trailer they gave me had bald tires. It was parked in the tall grass ditch like area. No one helped me hook up the trailer as they have in the past. I then pulled the trailer into the parking lot to review it and noticed the tires. I had to insist on a new trailer for safety reasons. Their initial suggestion was that I take the trailer to KAL tire and replace the tires myself. I complained about not having time to do that and it's not being my responsibility to maintain their equipment. I also had two young children to travel with and couldn't afford to have a mechanical issue on my commute. They then told me I could only have a smaller trailer as no others were available. Ultimately I got the same size trailer but this trailer also has some unknown center issue on file and had a service booked. They weren't able to identify the issue or find out so I had to risk taking a trailer that also had an unknown issue. I've been renting from U-Haul for year and this is by far my worst, and stressful rental to date.

james jInitially when I booked the trailer I was renting online I had given my credit card information. When I went to pick up the trailer not only was the representative from U-Haul not on location but the person at the gas station had no record of my reservation. Reluctantly I was given the trailer after producing the emails I had received from U-Haul when I booked online. Later that day a representative from U-Haul contacted me for my credit card information as well as to fill out additional forms. Beyond the inconvenience of dealing with a representative after the fact, what was the purpose of me filling in all the information online including my credit card information when it was absolutely useless when picking up the trailer?

ROXANNE GI rented the truck to pick up few things but the tires on that truck is junk. I couldn't go anywhere and couldn't collect my stuff from the places. And paid for 30km but I didn't use the 30kms but they charged me for 30kms. Totally disappointed and wasted my money for nothing

John aFirst, the pickup of the truck location was moved from the Chatham location, and the truck was uncleaned and it added several more Km to my route. A) I have no idea why they wanted me to drop off my tow dolly here New Liskeard ..when there is a U-Haul basically just down the street from me. @ Swastika .. B) the U-Haul corporation would not let me return the truck at my LOCAL U-Haul(Swastika), even though they had NO 2 wheel tow dollies and no 20' trucks! Anyone who wanted a tow dolly or a 20' truck would be forced to travel 150km to New Liskeard! Then.. I was charged for over milage.. because I couldn't return it to my LOCAL U-Haul. Want to guess how much over milage I was? .... 150km!
