Hello, My reservation is still under review from customer service but given the atrocious experience that unfolded Friday morning at this location I wanted to submit now. After arriving on time for my pick up the application told me to go to the first of what would be three trucks on the day. The first truck was unlocked and the back compartment ajar as an unhoused person was taking shelter there - using furniture pads and such as blankets. The individual was not there but clearly had recently left as their belongings remained. I was then prompted to pick up the key for the truck, via the app. I did so and was given a key to a different truck entirely. Upon arriving at the second truck I again found it unlocked with none of my previously confirmed and guaranteed moving materials. I spoke with customer service at that time when a person passed the buck to another and the wait times for each were substantial. I am now about 45 mins over when I was told to could pick up my vehicle and moving materials. Given the delays I waited for the location to open as I could not traverse the bay to bayshore as the time was the same. Once the store opened I informed the person at the register of the issues that arose. In response to the first truck issue he stated "that's san francisco, man". In response to the second truck he stated "clearly someone tried to rob the truck". In response to my missing moving materials that were guaranteed and confirmed he stated "we cannot guarantee those". He wrapped his responses with a resounding "I just stand here and give people trucks". When I finally got a truck the tank was near empty and the driver side key lock was hanging on by a thread. Thankfully I had duck tape and was able to have a cosmetic fix so I could actually lock and secure my truck prior to my move Saturday morning. While I know this is not the total fault of the person in store that morning there has to be some accountability here from uHaul. If they locked their trucks and had some semblance of care these issues would be resolved. While I have consistently used uHaul something to this effect always occurs - though this is whole new scale.

The first van had a mystery parking brake that I couldn't find, even after looking at the manual. The guy at the front desk couldn't help b/c he had to stay in the store. NBD. The van I used was a bit messy and I don't really care about that, but you asked. There was no water in the windshield wiper to clean the windshield. Either way, it got the job done and that haul is done. Merci.

This is the 3rd truck that I've rented from this uhaul, the first time we found trash left over from the last renter, the second time the truck bed had trash and ropes badly knotted to the tie downs, the third time there were open water bottles and trash left from the last renter. Not a horrible experience but it would be nice to rent something that has been cleaned.

When I received the truck the gas level was below empty so uhaul sent me $60 to put in the gas tank. However that $60 of gas did not even get me to my destination which was 4 miles away so I had to stop and put $100 out of my own pocket into the gas tank in order to use the truck for the day. The $100 dollars got the tank to half and then the tank stayed at half all day. I believe the gas berometer may have been broken and cause me too spend $100 I did not need to.

The truck I had, the suspension was very bad. It seemed very old bouncing over the San Francisco streets & freeways!! Needs some tightening up on the shocks and front end! Short term ok, long term vehicle needs some work!

Interesting that you don't ask about the personnel In sF but you do in Heber. The woman in Heber was amazing while the guy in SF was OK at best.

I tried both trucks offered to me and both had empty tanks. As a result, I had to buy 1/4 tank gas for my trip and yet to know if I would get refund.

Initially had trouble finding the moving truck because I was looking at the license plate instead of the U-Haul ID number ((displayed on all sides of the truck). I forget if the sales rep mentioned the ID number on the key is not the license plate number. Would have saved me from walking around trying to find the moving truck.

First, have the truck out front for the customer with more than a 1/4 tank of gas. I had to walk to the back to get my U-Haul van. It was parked between 2 other trucks that had little clearance in front and back. And then when I politely asked Jaime to move the front truck, he said,"You can't move it" with a smirk on his face. I responded "Not with so little room and that I was uncomfortable about moving it myself for fear of damaging the truck." In my opinion that's all part of good customer service. Also, tried to charge me for 2 dollys and I only rented 1. I dropped off the van after hours so I wasn't there to verify anything in person. But how do you see an extra dolly in the back of the van when they inspect it provided the vans are inspected at all. In the past, I've rented from this location and never had any problems. The 2 things mentioned above were done for my convenience and I never got overcharged for anything. I would still recommend this location on the condition that your employees improve their customer service skills. Merci.

Van was dirty on ground in the front below the radio. Have pictures if would like to see them. Besides that though, Jaime (@ 47 Cambon) and the woman I spoke to in customer service when the office wasn't open were helpful, kind, and over all fantastic with with my questions and the help I needed. Thank you!!

We were not given Veteran's discount that we were told we would get when initially making the reservation over the phone to a U-haul call center. We were sold a padlock for the back of the truck that we were told was the one that is used. When we later tried to use the padlock, we found it was too small and would not fit. The cab had not been cleaned. There were food containers on the floor.

The dealership representative was not helpful and he was responding very rudely. He wasn't giving answers properly and seemed like he didn't have a morning coffee. I am very unhappy with the way I was treated. Also there was a large wooden sheet in the truck. Once I unloaded the truck, I wasn't able to close the door of the truck. I drove 60 miles with the open door and I had to put that large wooden sheet in my garage. Now I have to get rid of that wooden sheet. Immense ordeal.

I will never use uhaul again after this experience. Normally I have a good experience; I move about once a year renting a uhaul and hire movers and haven't had any issues until this last time. The worker was so rude and disrespectful, didn't help me at all with my dolly and blankets and my truck was completely out of gas. I had to carry all of my things out a back door through puddles and trash.

Truck cab and Inside of truck was not swept. No gas upon renting. Surly service. Lack of explaining where to find the truck and where to drop off when done. No warning, no guidance, no apology on truck being empty. Called 800 # for help.

Truck was dirty and smelled of heavy cigarette smoke. The previous person lied about it being clean enough for the next family. I left the truck cleaner than it was yet was still charged to clean. Please reverse charge

The tire pressure sensor showed the front right tire as dangerously low but it wasn't. I ended up wasting $2 and was late returning my van because I was trying to be sure it was going to be safe to drive. In my previous rental from here the system went down. It caused me to be delayed but the customer service of the group running the location was so fantastic and kind, I just let it go. Really great folks!

I picked up the truck on 4/5/22 around 10 am, then I returned the truck on same day before 1 pm. Don't understand why the contract receipt I received by email dated 4/6/22 indicated the truck return day and time is 4/6/22 at 8:03 am which is a mistake. When I pick up the truck, the clerk's attitude was poor and not friendly. Don't understand why? when I return the truck the key, I have hard time to get it out from the ignition. He told me he is not a mechanic. He just wants the key return to him without any assistance. I was fortunate to have the Enterprise worker who was nearby and helped me to get the key out. No business manner, this kind of service is unacceptance and disappointed.
