The customer service wasn't bad. I reserved my pickup for 7:30 AM only to arrive to find out I wasn't able to pick up my reservation until 11 AM.
Jeremiah RI experienced some difficulties unlocking the key box with the code because the lock was a bit dirty. Upon returning the van, the agent came out to assist me due to the inconvenience which i was experiencing. Agent was very helpful.
Kveta Ddidn't approve my mobile pickup in time so I had to go in and wait for 20 minutes while the shop owner got another person on the phone to approve me. the person on the phone was preoccupied selling something to someone at the same time he was going over my contract. The parking spot I was supposed to get the truck back into was sandwiched tightly between a pole and another truck in a narrow alley.

Christina YThis review is of the drop off process altogether and does not solely reflect that of the final drop off location. The day of my move they originally gave me 4 options that were located almost 10 miles away (an hour in Chicago) from my destination so I picked the closest one and called in to switch the location. I discussed options and the agent assigned me to a location just up the street. I got a call the following day stating that they needed to move my location about a mile away. The initial location I was went to was at 6351 N Claremont. There was no parking lot and the location had no marker signs of where to leave the truck. I went to the restaurant next door to ask for help. They actually pointed me to a former employee/agent who informed me that the location is nonexistent. The building was vacant. I called U-Haul and the automated message informed me that there was a 50 min wait so I hung up and started the return process in a "pay to park" parking spot. When I started the process the app froze and so I called back in to the main line. Finally an agent called me and informed me that they needed to go to a different location as this location "was full." I went to the location which was only 4 blocks away however there was no parking anywhere for me to return the truck. I was informed my the agent there who was helpful. He was the only one to let me know that you can park it in a pay to park spot. I then had to circle the location three times before finally being able to squeeze into a space. The return experience was terrible.
Kavik BDoesn't have a complete equipment that's needed when I requested for it. I requested 6 blankets, dolly and a furniture dolly. When I got in there and asked about the furniture dolly, they said they don't have it. And when I counted the blankets it was only 5 instead of 6. Haven't checked if they charged me for it.
Wesley SThe person at the store treated me very poorly. I walked in at my designated time, informed him that I had a reservation with number and he stated that I needed a confirmation number? I explained to him that I only had a reservation number and not a confirmation number. At this point, he instructed me to go to truck in the back of business and to call Uhaul? After waiting on hold for ten minutes, I walked back into store and explained to the gentlemen again that I had a reservation. After pulling up reservation on my phone and showing proof that I indeed had a reservation at this location did he begin to become more responsive. I rented the truck because I was under contract to perform at an event and wasted 20+ minutes explaining the same damn thing to an incompetent POS at this location!!!
ROHAN WIt's a REALLY tight fit for my 15ft Uhaul truck. The Uhaul rep was great, texting me right away about how to handle the dropoff. Said I could park in the street instead of his tight lot. However, it's a super crowded neighborhood and there was no way I would have been able to find a spot for my huge truck.

kenneth jNeed more equipment availability. Ordered a month in advance and still had issues. Location was not ideal, return process was not as smooth. Lockbox combination dod not work and was charged an extra convenience fee.

ARA AI didn’t get almost half of my supplies (blankets and a floor dolly) and the process was incredibly annoying and took over an hour to even get the truck which cut into my time (I showed up a half hour before hand to start the process)

Taha MThe first location forgot to put the doly in that i payed for. It was 7 am, so the location was not working. Tryed to call the uhal.com, and now one was answering for 30min. Never renting a car from you guys, never.
Aleksas AThere, apparently, was only one truck available for rent when that was not indicated during the ordering process. I'd ordered a van, not a small truck. On top of that, the truck was filthy and definitely unsanitized per Covid-19 mitigation strategies. There, literally, was a pile of pet food rolling around the floor of the cabin. Dirt and dust was everywhere. This was the worst U-Haul rental experience that I've had in 30 years.

The gentlemen's customer service was beyond 5 stars. When I ran into issues he was helpful, he took initiative to foresee any issues I would've possibly had and worked through them with me. His patience and helpfulness is the hallmark of good customer service.

Marichi KThe pick up location was in the back of a luggage store and the owner had a mask on but not over his nose. It was unclear exactly where the van was. It was parked somewhere on a street that was far away. I went looking and couldn't find it and had to return to the luggage store. At purchase --there was a sign indicating that if I swept the van clean $25 would be deducted from my bill. Never happened. At the drop off location ( a gas station) NO one wore a mask -- only ALL the customers!!
Mark IThe inside of the cab had dried food all underneath the seats which we didn't initially notice (it was cold and rainy at pick up so we didn't look at the truck as closely as we now realize we should have) and so WE were charged a cleaning fee at drop off for it. This should have been taken care of by the pick up facility before they would re-rent the truck out
Michael KI had a 24 hour rental but was going to be returning the truck early. The owner of this location called me to ask what time I would be dropping the truck off, so that he could meet me. He told me DO NOT check in the truck on my phone, that he needed to check it in. This location is a gas station, so I pulled in to refill the tank and was met by the owner at the pump. He took the keys from me and said I would receive an email shortly with the check-in. Two days later I received an email saying I had kept the truck an extra day and was charged $80. I didn't even have the truck a full day, let alone an extra day. I don't know what scams this location is running with U-Haul, but it's ridiculous. After calling U-Haul and basically being told they'd "look into it and someone would call me back" I went to the location. I asked the clerk at the counter where the U-Haul desk was and was told all U-Haul transactions have to be done on your phone. After telling him what happened he gave me the owners phone number to contact. When I called the owner and told him I was calling about a U-Haul, he immediately started telling me that all U-Haul transactions need to be done online. So I told him that's not what he told me when he called me and specifically told me not to check in my truck when I dropped it off, and gave him the keys. He apologized for the "misunderstanding" and said he would take care of it. I received a notice that I would be refunded my extra day charge. But then immediately after, received another notice that I had the truck out 2 extra days! So far I have not seen additional charges come through. At this point I will just start disputing any charges from U-Haul against my credit card. This is a BS scam and I'm done waisting my time trying to deal with it through U-haul. I really wish there was alternative affordable moving truck options, but after this experience with Uhaul, I will happily be paying more to rent through Penske or Budget for the several times a year I need a box truck.

Jerome GWAS INITIALLY SENT TO 2735 W DEVON AVE. THERE WAS NO ONE THERE AND NO LOCKBOX AT ALL. IT'S LIKE IT WAS AN ADDRESS THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH U-HAUL!! I WAITED ON THE PHONE FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF FOR YOUR COMPANY TO GIVE ME A NEW DROPOFF LOCATION. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I WILL NOT BE USING YOUR SERVICE AGAIN.
